Some novel symmetric 1,1'-dimethylferrocene derived amino acids have been prepared by the reaction of 1,1'-ferrocenedimethyldichloride with amino acids (glycine, alanine, phenylalanine and tyrosine). Their Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes, of the type [M(L)] where [M = Cu(II) and L = L(1)-L(5)] and [M(L)Cl(2)] where [M-Co(II)and Ni(II), L = L(1)-L(5)] have been prepared. The dicarboxylic acids and their metal complexes were characterized by their physical, analytical and spectral data. The [M(L)] complexes showed a square planar geometry whereas an octahedral geometry was observed for [M(L)Cl(2)] complexes. The title dicarboxylic acids and their metal complexes have also been screened for their antibacterial activity.  相似文献

2-Aminothiazole undergoes condensation reactions with furane-, thiophene- and pyrrole-2-carboxylaldehyde to give tridentate NNO, NNS and NNN Schiff bases respectively. These tridentate Schiff bases formed complexes of the type [M (L)(2)]X(2) where [M=Co(II), Cu(II), Ni(II) or Zn(II), L=N-(2-furanylmethylene)-2-aminothiazole (L(1)), N-(2-thiophenylmethylene)-2-aminothiazole (L(2), N-(2-pyrrolylmethylene)-2-aminothiazole (L(3)) and X=Cl. The structures of these Schiff bases and of their complexes have been determined on the basis of their physical, analytical and spectral data. The screening results of these compounds indicated them to possess excellent antibacterial activity against tested pathogenic bacterial organisms e.g., Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureous and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. However, in comparison, their metal chelates have been shown to possess more antibacterial activity than the uncomplexed Schiff bases.  相似文献

Schiff bases were obtained by condensation of 2-amino-l,3,4-thiadiazole with 5-substituted-salicylaldehydes which were further used to obtain complexes of the type [M(L)(2)]Cl(2), where M=Co(II), Cu(II), Ni(II) or Zn(II). The new compounds described here have been characterized by physical, spectral and analytical data, and have been screened for antibacterial activity against several bacterial strains such as Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The antibacterial potency of these Schiff bases increased upon chelation/complexation, against the tested bacterial species, opening new aproaches in the fight against antibiotic resistant strains.  相似文献

Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes with a Schiff base, N-(2-furanylmethylene)-2-aminothiadiazole have been prepared and characterized by their physical, spectral and analytical data. The synthesized Schiff-bases act as tridentate ligands during the complexation reaction with Co(II) and Ni(II. metal ions. They possess the composition [M(L)(2)]X(n) (where M=Co(II) or Ni(II), L=, X=NO(3) (-), SO(4) (2-), C(2)O(4) (2-) or CH(3)CO(2) (-) and n=1 or 2) and show an octahedral geometry. In order to evaluate the effect of anions upon chelation, the Schiff-base and its complexes have been screened for antibacterial activity against bacterial strains e.g., Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.  相似文献

Some novel transition metal [Co(II), Cu(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II)] complexes of substituted pyridine Schiff-bases have been prepared and characterized by physical, spectral and analytical data. The synthesized Schiff-bases act as deprotonated tridentate for the complexation reaction with Co(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) ions. The new compounds, possessing the general formula [M(L)(2)] where [M=Co(II), Cu(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) and HL=HL(1), HL(2), HL(3) and HL(4)] show an octahedral geometry. In order to evaluate the effect of metal ions upon chelation, the Schiff bases and their complexes have been screened for antibacterial activity against the strains such as Escherichia coli,Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The complexed Schiff bases have shown to be more antibacterial against one more bacterial species as compared to uncomplexed Schiff-bases.  相似文献

Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes Schiff base, N-(2-thienylmethylene)-2-aminothiadiazole have been prepared and characterized by their physical, spectral and analytical data. A number of thiazole derived tridentate Schiff-bases (LH) and its metal chelates of the type [M(L)(2)X] where M=Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II), L=substituted salicylaldehyde (5-H, 5-CH(3), 5-OCH(3), 5-NO(2) and 5-Cl) and X=CI have been synthesized and characterized with the help of elemental analyses, conductivity measurements, magnetic moments, UV-Vis, IR and NMR spectral data. An octahedral structure for Ni(II) and Zn(II) and a distorted octahedral structure for Cu(II) chelates have been proposed. All the Schiff-bases and their metal chelates have been screened for their biological activity against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureous , Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumonae and in comparison, the metal chelates have been shown to possess more antibacterial activity than the uncomplexed Schiff-bases.  相似文献

A condensation reaction of 2-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole with 2-pyrrolecarboxaldehyde to form tridentate NNN donor Schiff base has been performed. The prepared Schiff base was further used for the formation of metal complexes having stoichiometry [M(L)(2)]X(n), where M=Cu(II) or Zn(II), L=N-(2-pyrrolylmethylene)-2-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole, X=SO(4) (2-), NO(3) (-), C(2)O(4) (2-) or CH(3)CO(2-) and n=1 or 2. The new compounds described here have been characterized by their physical, spectral and analytical data, and have been screened against several bacterial strains such as Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The antibacterial potency of the Schiff base increased upon chelation/complexation, having the same metal ion (cation) but different anions opening up a novel approach in finding new ways to fight against antibiotic resistant strains.  相似文献

A novel family of tetraaza macrocyclic Cu(II) complexes [CuLX(2)] (where L = N(4) donor macrocyclic ligands) and (X = Cl(-), NO(3) (-)) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic moments, IR, EPR, mass, electronic spectra and thermal studies. The magnetic moments and electronic spectral studies suggest square planar geometry for [Cu(DBACDT)]Cl(2) and [Cu(DBACDT)](NO(3))(2) complexes and distorted octahedral geometry to the rest of the ten complexes. The biological activity of all these complexes against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria was compared with the activity of existing commercial antibacterial compounds like Linezolid and Cefaclor. Six complexes out of twelve were found to be most potent against both gram-positive as well as gram-negative bacteria due to the presence of thio group in the coordinated ligands.  相似文献

Complexes containing 1,3,5-tris-(8-hydroxyquinolino)-trichlorocyclotriphosphazatriene, a new cyclophosphazene ligand, and Co(II), Cu(II) and Ni(II) were prepared. The new complexes, having the general formula [MLCl(2)], [ML(2)]Cl(2), (M=Cu, Co, Ni); [NiLAc], [NiL(2)Ac]Ac and [ML(3)]X(3) (M=Ni, Co, X=Cl, Ac) were characterised by elemental analysis, electronic-, IR spectroscopy, and electrical conductivity measurements. Some of them inhibited the growth of several fungi species (Aspergillus and Candida spp.).  相似文献

Results are reported for the molar conductivities at 25°C of N,N—dimethylacetamide (DMA) solutions of Bu4NBF4 and Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) tetrafluoroborates. The limiting molar conductivities of [M(DMA)6]2+ (M  MN, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn) and BF?4, as well as association constants for Co(BF4)2 in DMA solutions have been calculated. The slight differences between conductometric curves of different metal ions are discussed.  相似文献

Biologically active complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) with novel ONO, NNO and SNO donor pyrazinoylhydrazine-derived compounds have been prepared and characterized on the basis of analytical data and various physicochemical studies. Distorted octahedral structures for all the complexes have been proposed. The synthesized ligands and their complexes have been screened for their antibacterial activity against bacterial species Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumonae. The activity data show the metal complexes to be more active than the parent free ligands against one or more bacterial species.  相似文献

A series of four new copper(II) complexes [Cu(H2L)(L1)] 1, [Cu(H2L)(PMDT)] 2, [Cu(H2L)(Dien)] 3 and [Cu(H2L)(L2)] 4 have been synthesized by template condensation (H2L=thiodiglycolic acid, L1=N-[(1)-1-(4-methylphenyl)ethylidene]benzohydrazide, PMDT=N,N,N′,N′,N ′′-pentamethyldiethylene- triamine, Dien=diethylenetriamine L2=N-[(1)-pyridin-2-ylmethylidene]benzohydrazide). The bonding and stereochemistry of the complexes have been characterized by molar conductance, elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility, infrared, UV–visible, electron paramagnetic resonance structural studies and electrochemical studies. g-Values were calculated for all complexes in polycrystalline form as well as in DMSO solution. The magnetic and spectral data indicate square pyramidal geometry for 1 and octahedral geometry for 24 complexes. Cyclic voltammograms for all the complexes are similar and involve two irreversible redox processes. Their biological properties have also been studied. The thio complexes show more antibacterial activity than the controlled one. The antibacterial activities of the compounds have also been tested against Escherichia coli with different concentrations.  相似文献

In the search for alternative chemotherapeutic strategies against leukemia, various 1‐indanone thiosemicarbazones, as well as eight novel platinum(II) and palladium(II) complexes, with the formula [MCl2(HL)] and [M(HL)(L)]Cl, derived from two 1‐indanone thiosemicarbazones were synthesized and tested for antiproliferative activity against the human leukemia U937 cell line. The crystal structure of [Pt(HL1)(L1)]Cl.2M eOH, where L1=1‐indanone thiosemicarbazone, was solved by X‐ray diffraction. Free thiosemicarbazone ligands showed no antiproliferative effect, but the corresponding platinum(II) and palladium(II) complexes inhibited cell proliferation and induced apoptosis. Platinum(II) complexes also displayed selective apoptotic activity in U937 cells but not in peripheral blood monocytes or the human hepatocellular carcinoma HepG2 cell line used to screen for potential hepatotoxicity. Present findings show that, in U937 cells, 1‐indanone thiosemicarbazones coordinated to palladium(II) were more cytotoxic than those complexed with platinum(II), although the latter were found to be more selective for leukemic cells suggesting that they are promising compounds with potential therapeutic application against hematological malignancies.  相似文献

Synthesis, characterization and antimicrobial activities of an interesting class of biologically potent macrocyclic complexes have been carried out. All the complexes have been evaluated for their antimicrobial effects on different species of pathogenic fungi and bacteria. The testicular sperm density, testicular sperm morphology, sperm motility, density of cauda epididymal spermatozoa and fertility in mating trails and biochemical parameters of reproductive organs have been examined and discussed. The resulting biologically active [M(MaL(n))(R(2))]Cl(2) and [Pb(MaL(n))(R(2))X(2)] (where, M = Pd(II) or Pt(II) and X = Cl or NO(3)) type of complexes have been synthesized by the reactions of macrocyclic ligands (MaL(n)) with metal salts and different diamines in 1:1:1 molar ratio in methanol. Initially the complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, molecular weight determinations and conductivity measurements. The mode of bonding was established on the basis of IR, (1)H NMR, (13)C NMR, (195)Pt NMR, (207)Pb NMR, XRD and electronic spectral studies. The macrocyclic ligand coordinates through the four azomethine nitrogen atoms which are bridged by benzil moieties. IR spectra suggest that the pyridine nitrogen is not coordinating. The palladium and platinum complexes exhibit tetracoordinated square-planar geometry, whereas a hexacoordinated octahedral geometry is suggested for lead complexes.  相似文献

We studied the reaction between urea and formaldehyde with the purpose of preparing new polychelates of Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) metal ions. These compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, 1H‐NMR, electronic spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and molar conductance measurements. The percentage of metal in all of the polychelates was found to be consistent with 1:1.5 (metal/ligand) stoichiometry. The thermal behaviors of these coordination polymers were studied by TGA in a nitrogen atmosphere up to 750°C. The TGA results reveal that the complexes had higher thermal‐resistance properties compared to the common urea–formaldehyde resin. The molar conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements of the synthesized polychelates confirmed the geometry of the complexes. The antibacterial activity of the polychelates was also investigated with agar diffusion methods. The antibacterial activity of these polychelates was found to be reasonably good compared with standard drugs, namely, ciprofloxacin, ampicillin, and kanamycin. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Three isomeric Me(8)[14]anes, L(A), L(B) and L(C), undergo complexation with copper(II) salts to form a series of [CuLX(n)(H(2)O)(x)]X(y).(H(2)O)(z) complexes where L = L(A), L(B) and L(C); X = Cl, Br, NO(3); n, x, y and z may have values of 0, 1 or 2. The complexes have been characterised on the basis of analytical, spectroscopic, magnetic and conductance data. Further, the X-ray crystal structure of one complex, [CuL(B)(OH(2))(2)](NO(3))(2), has been determined. The antifungal activity of all three isomeric ligands and their complexes has been investigated against a range of phytopathogenic fungi.  相似文献

Two novel carboxylato-bridged Zn(II) polymeric complexes [Zn(L)(CCl3COO)]n and [Zn(L)(CF3COO)]n, where [L=2-N-(2-pyridylimine)benzoic acid] have been synthesized and structurally characterized. The structures of the two complexes are similar with the Zn(L)(Cl3CCO2) or Zn(L)(F3CCO2) units being repeated to form infinite helical chains. In each structure, the neighbouring Zn atoms are bridged sequentially by syn–anti carboxylate groups of the Schiff base.  相似文献
