The aim of this work was to investigate the sorption characteristics of Fe3O4 coated on polyaniline (Fe3O4/PAn) for the removal of NO3? ions from aqueous solutions. The sorption of NO3? ions by the batch method was carried out. The optimum conditions of sorption were found to be a Fe3O4/PAn dose of 0.4 g in 100 mL of NO3? solution, a contact time of 10 min, pH and temperature 7 and 40°C, respectively. Temperature had a negative effect on the removal efficiency. Three equations, i.e., Morris–Weber, Lagergren, and pseudo‐second‐order, were tested to track the kinetics of the removal process. The Langmuir, Freundlich, and Dubinin–Radushkevich isotherm models were subjected to sorption data in order to estimate sorption capacity, intensity, and energy. The thermodynamic parameters ΔH, ΔS, and ΔG were evaluated. They showed that the adsorption of NO3? onto Fe3O4/PAn was feasible, spontaneous, and exothermic under the studied conditions. It can be concluded that Fe3O4/PAn has potential to remove NO3? ions from aqueous solutions at different concentrations. The present study deals with the adsorption of arsenic ions from aqueous solution on polyaniline/rice husk (PAn/RH) nanocomposite. Batch studies were performed to evaluate the influence of various experimental parameters like pH, adsorbent dosage, contact time and the effect of temperature. Optimum conditions for arsenic removal were found to be pH 10, adsorbent dosage of 10 g/L and equilibrium time 30 minutes. Adsorption of arsenic followed pseudo-second-order kinetics. The equilibrium adsorption isotherm was better described by Freundlich adsorption isotherm model. The adsorption capacity (q max ) of PAn/RH for arsenic ions in terms of monolayer adsorption was 34.48 mg/g. The change of entropy (ΔS0) and enthalpy (ΔH0) was estimated at −0.066 kJ/(mol K) and −22.49 kJ/mol, respectively. The negative value of the Gibbs free energy (ΔG0) indicates feasible and spontaneous adsorption of arsenic on PAn/RH.  相似文献

Here, we report the synthesis of Fe3O4/G/PANI composite containing magnetite nanoparticles (Fe3O4), graphene sheets (G), and polyaniline (PANI) via chemical route for removal of toxic Cr (VI) from water. TEM image shows the formation of uniformly distributed magnetite nanoparticles on graphene/PANI composite. HRTEM images shows the formation of crystalline magnetite nanoparticles showing lattice fringes with inter‐planner distance 0.21 nm. The magnetic measurement shows magnetization 22 emu/g and ferromagnetic property of the adsorbent. The equilibrium adsorptions were well‐described by the Langmuir isotherm model and shows maximum adsorption capacity 153.54 mg/g at pH 6.5 and temperature 30 °C. The kinetics data well fitted by pseudo‐second‐order model and around 86% Cr (VI) removal completed within 20 min. The Cr (VI) removal capacitive decreases with increase in pH and ionic strength. 壳聚糖(CS)因具有大量的羟基和氨基,可为吸附色素污染物提供较多活性位点,但其在酸性条件易于溶解。MXene可为CS提供支撑位点,从而构建新型MXene@CS复合材料。研究构建了新型Ti3C2TX@CS有机无机复合材料,并应用于刚果红的去除研究。通过对Ti3C2TX@CS的微观形貌、晶体结构、表面官能团等进行表征分析,发现Ti3C2TX@CS的复合过程为物理复合。絮凝实验结果表明:在Ti3C2TX@CS投加量为30 mg、溶液pH为9、反应时间为30 min、温度为25~60 ℃条件下,Ti3C2TX@CS对50 mL质量浓度为500 mg/L刚果红(CR)溶液的脱色率达到99%以上。通过实验结果和反应前后Ti3C2TX@CS电位变化推断,Ti3C2TX@CS对刚果红的去除机理主要是电中和作用和吸附架桥作用。  相似文献

The effect of polyaniline and polypyrrole composites and the influence of type and concentration of stabilizer, pH of solution, and type of adsorbent on lead salt removal from aqueous solution were studied. The results indicated that the extents of removal of lead in alkaline solution (pH = 10) were 99.95 and 99.23%, respectively, when polyaniline and Polyaniline/(sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate) composite were used as adsorbents. The results were compared with those obtained by using cation exchangers such as Purolite and Amberjet, and the observations indicated that Purolite and Amberjet were the better lead removal agents. A new acrylic-lignosulfonate resin (ALR) was obtained by radical polymerization using calcium lignosulfonate (LS-Ca) and acrylic acid (AA) as raw materials. ALR was characterized using FT-IR, SEM, TG-DSC and N2 adsorption–desorption surface area and pore size analyzer. Batch adsorption, including initial concentration, time, pH, dosage and temperature on the adsorption of crystal violet (CV) by ALR, was systematically studied. The ALR contained porous structure and the specific surface area of ALR was 190.55 m2/g with average pore diameter 11.34 nm. The kinetic and equilibrium data fitted into the pseudo-second-order model and Freundlich isotherm model, respectively. The adsorption process was slightly influenced in the range of pH=3–12. The maximum adsorption capacity of CV was found to be as high as 150.40±4.80mg/g for 24 h at 25 °C. Thermodynamic parameters were evaluated, and their values indicated that adsorption of CV on ALR was an exothermic process and spontaneous.  相似文献

One of the suitable methods for removing heavy metals from water and waste water is the use of a surface adsorption process. In this study, polyaniline/polystyrene (PAn/PS) nanocomposite was prepared in aqueous solution by the polymerization of styrene and aniline using potassium iodate and ammonium peroxydisulfate as oxidants in the presence of surfactive dopant sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate and poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) as surfactant. The capability of separating Cd(II) ions was studied, and the results were compared with those obtained with other adsorbents. The results indicated that removal percentage was increased by increasing the concentration of adsorbent, contact time, and the pH of the solution. J. VINYL ADDIT. In this research, novel nanoparticles of Kit-6 mesoporous silica magnetite were synthesized with 9.6 nm pore diameter and 241.68 m2 g?1 surface area. The synthesized mesoporous magnetite nanoparticles (MMNPs) were functionalized with amine groups. Scanning electron microscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and nitrogen adsorption–desorption method confirmed the morphology and structure of the synthesized nanoparticles. The amine functionalized MMNPs were used for sorption of toxic chromate ions from aqueous samples. The effect of various experimental parameters (four factors at three levels) on the sorption efficiency of Cr(VI) was studied and optimized via Taguchi L9 (34) orthogonal array experimental design. At optimum conditions, the sorption of the Cr(VI) was best described by a pseudo second-order kinetic model with R2 = 0.9999 and qeq = 129.8 mg g?1, suggesting chemisorption mechanism. Adsorption data were fitted well to the Langmuir isotherm and the synthesized sorbent showed complete ion removal with 185.2 mg g?1sorption capacity.  相似文献

The aim of this research was to investigate the sorption characteristics of polyaniline/sawdust (PAn/SD) for the removal of Zn(II) ions from aqueous solutions. Batch sorption studies were carried out to determine the effect of initial concentration of the sorbate, agitation time, adsorbent dose, and pH on the removal of Zn(II). The sorptive removal was found to be strongly pH‐dependent. The experimental data fitted well to the Freundlich isotherm. The products were investigated in terms of morphology and chemical structure by using scanning electron microscopy and Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy, respectively. Polyaniline (PANI) was synthesized chemically, and then modified with magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (Fe3O4 NPs). PANI and PANI-Fe3O4 NPs were used for removal of uranyl ions (UO22+) from aqueous solutions using a batch system. The synthesized adsorbents were characterized using FT-IR, SEM, BET and XRD techniques. From isotherm investigation, the maximum adsorption capacities (qm) were 150.0 and 108.0 mg g?1 for PANI and PANI-Fe3O4NPs, respectively. The kinetics and equilibrium adsorptions were well-described by the pseudo-second-order kinetic and Langmuir model, respectively. Thermodynamic studies depicted that the adsorption of uranyl ions by PANI is a spontaneous exothermic process and in the case of PANI-Fe3O4 NPs, adsorption process is endothermic; therefore, the spontaneity is controlled by entropy.  相似文献

The removal of hexavalent chromium from a synthetic solution and from an industrial sample by electrolysis using stainless steel plate and titanium mesh cathodes is studied. It is found that the process proceeds in two steps: (1) electroreduction of hexavalent chromium to trivalent chromium in highly acidic medium and (2) electrochemical precipitation of trivalent chromium in an alkaline medium. A comparative study of electroreduction, electrochemical reduction and chemical reduction of hexavalent chromium is carried out and the electroreduction process is shown to be a clean technique. It is concluded that, in the absence of addition of any chemical as reducing agent, the Cr(III) solution formed on the reduction of Cr(VI) can be recycled in other industrial processes. Polypyrrole/NiFe2O4 (PPy/NiFe2O4) composites were prepared by ultrasonic oxidative polymerization in the presence of NiFe2O4 nanoparticles (NPs). The nanostructure of PPy/NiFe2O4 was confirmed by the X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) examinations. The adsorption of Cr(VI) onto the PPy/NiFe2O4 composite was lowly pH dependent and the adsorption kinetics followed the Pseudo‐second‐order model. The Langmuir isothermal model well described the adsorption isotherm data and the maximum adsorption capacity increased with the increase of temperature. The maximum adsorption capacity of the PPy/NiFe2O4 for Cr(VI) ions was up to 50 mg/g at pH 2.0. The excellent adsorption characteristic of PPy/NiFe2O4 composite will render it a highly efficient and economically viable adsorbent for Cr(VI) ions removal. POLYM. Synthetic dyes are commonly used in textile, paper, leather, food, plastic and cosmetic industries. In this study, a series of novel graphite oxide/polyurethane (GO/PU) polymeric foam materials were prepared by foaming technique. The GO/PU was applied to remove malachite green (MG) from aqueous solution. When static adsorption experiment was carried out with a GO content of 3.0%, a GO/PU dosage of 40 mg/mL, a temperature of 50°C, and a time of 3 h, the highest adsorption efficiency can reach 99.7%. The kinetics, equilibrium and thermodynamics of MG adsorption onto GO/PU polymeric foam material were investigated. The results indicated that adsorption behavior was found to follow closely the pseudo‐second order kinetics, equilibrium data were well fitted by Langmuir adsorption model and the adsorption process was spontaneous and endothermic. In this study, starch‐montmorillonite/polyaniline (St‐MMT/PANI) nanocomposite was synthesized by chemical oxidative polymerization of aniline in the presence of St‐MMT nanocomposite dispersion. The prepared ternary nanocomposite was characterized using FTIR, XRD, and SEM techniques. Adsorption properties of the nanocomposite were investigated for removal of reactive blue (RB 194) as a model reactive dye from aqueous solution. Response surface methodology was employed for the modeling of adsorption capacity of the nanocomposite. A second‐order empirical relationship between adsorption capacity and independent variables (initial dye concentration, amount of the nanocomposite, and pH of the solution) was obtained. Pareto analysis for identification of the factors effect on the system revealed that initial dye concentration was the most effective parameter. The adsorption capacity value of reactive dye on St‐MMT/PANI nanocomposite was 91.74 mg g?1. Further investigations indicated that the adsorption experimental data were well fitted to the Langmuir isotherm and pseudo‐second‐order kinetic model. POLYM. ENG. In this research, polyaniline was synthesized chemically onto the surface of sawdust as a thin layer (termed as PAni/SD) and was then used for removal of tartrazine dye (a typical anionic azo dye) from aqueous solutions. Ammonium peroxodisulphate was used as chemical oxidant for polymerization of polyaniline directly on the surface of sawdust. The procedure involves sorption experiments were performed on both batch and column systems. The effects of some important parameters such as pH, initial concentration, sorbent dosage, exposure time and temperature on uptake of tartrazine dye were investigated. Adsorption studies have shown that pH of the tartrazine solution has influence on the dye removal capacity of PAni/SD. It was found that effective dye removal is occurred under neutral or acidic conditions. The treatments of the data were carried out using both Freundlich and Langmuir adsorption isotherms. Sorption/desorption studies showed that PAni/SD was fast, simple, inexpensive, highly efficient and potential re-usable adsorbent to remove tartrazine from aqueous solutions. Based on our kinetics and thermodynamic studies, it was found that sorption process was endothermic (ΔH > 0) and the experimental data fitted very well with pseudo second-order kinetic model.  相似文献

Spherical nickel oxide (NiO) nanoparticles were prepared by using nickel chloride as precursor in the ethylene glycol as solvent and urea as precipitant. The X‐ray diffraction study showed that NiO has single‐phase cubic structure with average crystallite size of 35 nm. The prepared NiO nanoparticles were incorporated into polyaniline (PANI) matrix during in situ chemical oxidative polymerization of aniline with different molar ratios of aniline: NiO (12 : 1, 6 : 1, and 3 : 1) at 5°C using (NH4)2S2O8 as oxidant in aqueous solution of sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonic acid, as surfactant and dopant under N2 atmosphere. The synthesized composites have been characterized by means of X‐ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy, TEM, and vibrating sample magnetometer for its structural, thermal, morphological, and magnetic investigation. The XRD and FTIR studies show that the NiO particles are in the composite. The room temperature conductivities of the synthesized PANI, PANI/NiO (12 : 1), (6 : 1), and (3 : 1) composites were found to be 3.26 × 10?4, 1.88 × 10?4, 1.5 × 10?4, and 4.61 × 10?4 S/cm, respectively. The coercivity (Hc) and remnant magnetization (Mr) of NiO, PANI/NiO NCs (12 : 1), (6 : 1), and (3 : 1) at 5 K was found to be 8.22 × 10?2, 6.31 × 10?2, 6.42 × 10?2, 6.27 × 10?2 T, and 6.64 × 10?3, 1.83 × 10?4, 3.07 × 10?4, and 3.98 × 10?4 emu/g, respectively. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of conductive nanocomposites cellulose/reduced graphene oxide/polyaniline (cellulose/RGO/PANi) were synthesized via in situ oxidative polymerization of aniline on cellulose/RGO with different RGO loading to study the effect of RGO on the properties of nanocomposites. The results showed that when RGO is inserted into cellulose/PANi structure, its thermal stability and conductivity are increased. So that adding of only 0.3 wt% RGO into the cellulose/PANi structure, its conductivity is increased from 1.1 × 1 10?1 to 5.2 × 110?1 S/cm. Scanning electron microscopy results showed that the PANi nanoparticles are formed a continuous spherical shape over the cellulose/RGO template; this increases the thermal stability of nanocomposite.  相似文献

Adsorption isotherms of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) ions on two samples of activated carbon fibres and two samples of granulated activated carbons from aqueous solutions in the concentration range 20–1000 mg/l have been studied. The adsorption isotherms have been determined after modifying the activated carbon surfaces by oxidation with nitric acid, ammonium persulphate, hydrogen peroxide and oxygen gas at 350°C and after degassing at different temperatures. The adsorption of Cr(III) ions increases on oxidation and decreases on degassing. On the other hand, the adsorption of Cr(VI) ions decreases on oxidation and increases on degassing. The increase of Cr(III) and the decrease of Cr(VI) on oxidation and the decrease of Cr(III) and the increase of Cr(VI) on degassing have been attributed to the fact that the oxidation of the carbon surface enhances the amount of acidic carbon–oxygen surface groups while degassing eliminates these surface groups. Thus while the presence of acidic surface groups enhances the adsorption of Cr(III) cations, it suppresses the adsorption of Cr(VI) anions.  相似文献

Network wood pulp based on acrylonitrile (AN) has been chemically modified through different reactions to obtain group capable of anion exchange. Graft copolymerization of AN onto wood pulp was carried out by using γ‐radiation 60Co. Factors affecting the grafting process, e.g., radiation dose and monomer concentration, was investigated. The chemical modification of cyano groups were carried out by reaction with ethanolamine producing oxazoline group followed by quaternization of tertiary amine by reaction with benzyl chloride producing quaternary ammonium salt. The grafted and modified wood pulp were characterized by FTIR, SEM, and TGA. Qualitative adsorption experiments were conducted to evaluate the ability of modified wood pulp to fix sulfate, phosphate, nitrate, and dichromate from aqueous solution using batch extractions. Based on the results obtained, it may be concluded that it is possible to modify chemically wood pulp containing cyano groups by different routes to use it as anion exchanger for different anions. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
