新一代W波段慢波结构行波管对波导TE10-TEn0 模式转换器的低损耗、宽带、转换效率等高性能方面提出了要求。 文中重点研究一款全W波段波导模式转换器的设计,实现E 面TE10 输入到H 面TE20 输出的模式转换,并结合高效率转换 结构,给出实际性能验证。首先,分析了波导TEn0 模分布特点,提出E 面功分结构、集成扭波导结构及H 面反相合成等单元 结构;其次,给出TE10-TE20 模式转换整体方案设计与电路优化;最后,结合H 面异相功分结构集成,基于计算机数控技术,实 现该W波段模式转换模块的制备,并完成三端口性能测试。实测结果表明,W 波段全带宽内(75 GHz~110 GHz),该TE10-TE20 模式转换模块输出端口功率分配比为-3.2 dB±0.2 dB,相位差为180°±2°,输入端口回波损耗优于-20 dB,且实测性能 均与仿真结果高度一致,验证了W波段宽带TE10-TE20模式转换器的高效率、低损耗、可行性及鲁棒性。  相似文献

一种使用TE11为过渡模的TE01-HE11模式变换器设计   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
基于弯曲圆波导耦合理论和规则圆波导突变结构模式匹配法, 利用MATLAB软件编写的相关数值计算程序得到波导模式转换结构的优化参量, 最终使用CST软件对模型进行了仿真和验证.该系统主要由三部分组成: 一个TE01-TE01的过渡器, TE01-TE11和TE11-HE11的圆波导模式转换器.计算结果表明, 该TE01-HE11模式转换系统在24.13 GHz的频率有5%的带宽、转换效率超过了99%.计算结果、仿真结果和实物冷测结果是一致的.  相似文献

根据磁光材料的非互易特性和波导光栅的滤波特性,介绍了一种磁光波导光栅的非互易滤波特性及其应用.该磁光波导光栅采用法拉第旋转系数为4800°/cm的掺铈钇铁石榴石(Ce:YIG)材料、单模的脊型补偿墙截面结构和cosine型变迹光栅结构的设计.利用有限差分法和等效折射率法模拟该磁光波导光栅非互易效应的大小,同时结合耦合模理论和转移矩阵法对该磁光波导光栅的非互易滤波特性进行分析.结果表明,对于TE模和1550 nm波段,该磁光波导光栅正反向传输的中心波长偏移0.8 nm,带宽0.4 nm(-20 dB).这种非互易滤波特性可以用来实现波长选择光隔离器和光分插复用器(OADM)等集成光学器件.  相似文献

波导偏振器是片上集成相干光学系统中的关键器件之一,超高消光比、低损耗、紧凑型波导偏振器的设计一直是研究的热点。基于绝缘体上硅平台的倾斜Bragg光栅被用于实现超高消光比波导偏振器结构。利用一维光子晶体能带理论分别计算TE和TM模式光的能带结构分布,选择TE模式禁带与TM导带重叠带隙设计光栅,可实现TM模式低损传输,而TE模式被Bragg光栅高效反射,从而产生超高偏振消光比。3D FDTD仿真表明:16 μm倾斜Bragg光栅波导偏振器可在中心波长1550 nm附近70 nm的带宽内,实现大于37 dB的超高消光比,器件的损耗小于0.64 dB;进一步增加光栅周期数,当长度为25 μm时,消光比可提高至46 dB。Bragg光栅倾斜角与刻蚀宽度偏差仿真表明:设计的结构加工误差容限较大,同时该结构仅需一次曝光刻蚀,工艺流程简单。  相似文献

在耦合波理论的基础上,详细讨论了3mm二次谐波渐变复合腔回旋管内置TE03—TE02—TE01模式转换器,并使模式转换器兼作回旋管的收集极.采用波纹波导结构和不同的相位重匹配技术进行优化分析,得到了可靠的最优几何参量.以此结果设计出了紧凑、高效的94GH z波纹波导模式转换器,并在回旋管的热测实验中测出模式样图.  相似文献

基于耦合波理论的基础上,分析了TE01-TE11模式转换器的特性和半径渐变指数,讨论了中心轴线弯曲下的圆波导模式转换器,对中心频率33GHz的波导进行了模拟设计、仿真,在保证带宽的前提下,尽力降低转换器的长度和提高转换效率,最后达到了97.82%的转换效率,带宽达到2GHz。  相似文献

在回旋行波管的设计过程中,输出结构性能的高低直接影响到整管增益的高低以及输出功率的大小。采用切比雪夫渐变波导作为耦合输出段,通过对轮廓线的计算程序进行改进,将中心频率作为可变量进行了修正。仿真结果表明,长度为75mm改进后的切比雪夫渐变结构不仅能抑制工作模式向杂模TE02和TE03的耦合,还能有效减少工作模式的反射。在整个工作频段内,杂模TE02和TE03的耦合系数分别低于-33dB和-65dB,TE01模的反射系数低于-20dB,TE01模的传输系数高于-0.01dB。  相似文献

本文在电磁场耦合模理论的基础上利用MATLAB优化工具对W波段回旋管用TE02-TE01-TE11模式变换链进行了详细研究与分析。应用编制的仿真程序对W波段TE02-TE01-TE11模式变换链进行了设计和数值模拟,通过结构参数优化,获得了性能良好的模式变换链。TE02-TE01和TE01-TE11模式变换器在中心频率94 GHz处的转换效率分别为96.3%和94.1%,对应带宽分别为4 GHz(转换率95%以上)和2 GHz(转换率90%以上)。为了进一步验证设计的模式变换链的性能,利用高频模拟仿真软件HFSS对优化的模式变换链进行了模拟仿真,模拟结果与利用计算程序得到的结果基本吻合。  相似文献

A waveguide polarization splitter is demonstrated based on a low-loss polymer waveguide and a birefringent polyimide. Crosslinkable fluorinated polymers with an excellent stability and a low absorption loss are utilized for the device. The polyimide is buried under one branch of the Y-branch waveguide to enhance the birefringence between the TE and TM modes. By the adiabatic mode evolution, the TE mode is coupled to the branch with the polyimide strip, while the TM mode propagates through the other branch without the polyimide. For the device with a branch angle of 1/400 rad, we obtained a crosstalk less than -20 dB and a fiber-to-fiber insertion loss of 3.8 dB  相似文献

A multilevel grating coupler based on silicon-on-insulator (SOI) material structure is proposed to realize the coupling between waveguide and waveguide or waveguide and fiber. This coupler is compatible with the current fabrication facilities for complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) technology with vertical coupling. This structure can realize coupling when the beams with transverse electric (TE) polarization and transverse magnetic (TM) polarization are incident at the same time. The influences of the grating coupler parameters including wavelength, the thickness of waveguide layer, the thickness of SiO2 layer and the number of steps on the TE mode and TM mode coupling efficiencies are discussed. Theory researches and simulation results indicate that the wavelength range is from 1533 nm to 1580 nm when the TE mode and TM mode coupling efficiencies are both more than 40% as the grating period is 0.99 μm. The coupling efficiencies of the incident TE and TM modes are 49.9% and 49.5% at the wavelength of 1565 nm, respectively, and the difference between them is only 0.4%.  相似文献

A millimeter-wave circular TE/sub 01/ mode waveguide generates undesired circularly symmetric modes (TE/sub 02/, TE/sub 03/ modes, etc.) in bends or at discontinuities along a waveguide line. This paper describes the theory and experiment on the TE/sub 02/ and TE/sub 03/ mode filters developed for guided millimeter-wave transmission. The experimental results of two improved TE/sub 03/ mode filters show that the attenuation of the TE/sub 03/ mode is more than 16 dB for one type over the 40-70-GHz range. The TE/sub 01/-mode insertion loss of another type is about 0.2 dB over the 40-80-GHz range. The present mode filters can be applied to various high-speed guided rnillimeter-wave systems currently under development.  相似文献

A novel and highly efficient waveguide polarizer which is based on the phenomenon of resonant tunneling is proposed. Designs for both transverse-electric (TE) and transverse-magnetic (TM) pass polarizers based on this principle are suggested, and it is shown that with such a device it is possible to achieve TM mode loss greater than 80 dB/mm and TE mode loss less than 0.5 dB/mm for the TE pass polarizer, and TE mode loss of 24 dB/mm with a TM mode loss less than 0.8 dB/mm for the TM pass polarizer  相似文献

Integrated-optic polarization controlling devices such as polarizers, polarization splitters, and polarization converters, are proposed and demonstrated in nonlinear optic polymers. Poling-induced birefringence in electro-optic polymers is exploited to fabricate the devices. The polymeric waveguide polarizers show low excess losses, and extinction ratios of 20.7 dB and 17.1 dB for TM-pass and TE-pass polarizers, respectively. The polymeric waveguide polarization splitters exhibit TE-TM mode splittings with crosstalk of 14.2 dB and 10.1 dB for TM and TE mode splittings, respectively. The polymeric waveguide polarization converters show successful TE/TM polarization mode conversion with conversion efficiencies of higher than 30 dB. The device employs poling-induced waveguides which have slowly rotating azimuth angle of optic axis along the light propagation direction. The novel polarization converter is insensitive to wavelength and easier to fabricate than the other polarization converters containing periodic structures.  相似文献

在模式耦合理论的基础上, 采用相位重匹配技术对圆波导轴线弯曲TE01-TE11模式变换器进行了数值优化计算和分析.在Q波段给出了两种不同周期数TE01-TE11模式变换器的优化设计参数.数值计算表明: 四周期模式变换器的最高转换效率为98.82%, 带宽为2.2 GHz, 六周期最高转换效率为99.89%, 带宽为1.7 GHz.研究了模式变换器关键几何尺寸在小范围内变化对转换效率的影响.并利用HFSS对给出的模式变换器进行了仿真, 仿真结果与数值模拟一致性较好.同时加工了六周期结构模式变换器并进行了小功率热测实验, 测试结果表明输出了模式纯度较高的TE11模式.  相似文献

The two-dimensional theory of a distributed feedback (DFB) laser (which was previously presented and applied to the analysis of the laser threshold conditions for the transverse-electric (TE) mode in a simple three-layer waveguide structure) is developed to treat both TE and transverse-magnetic (TM) modes in a four-layer waveguide structure with a thin grating layer, which more closely reflects actual DFB laser structure. The differences between TE and TM modes for the dispersion relations and the laser threshold conditions are clarified. The effects of the waveguide structure (including grating layer thickness, refractive indexes of layers, coupling constant, and corrugation period) on the threshold gains and the gain differences between the two longitudinal modes on both sides of the Bragg frequencies are studied in detail for both TE and TM modes  相似文献

For 3d waveguiding system calculations we used the Electric Field Integral Equation (EFIE) model, applied to infinitely thin, perfectly conducting waveguide surfaces. The solution represents induced current, from which the field in the device is obtained. With the help of this method an asymmetric mode converter TE01-TE11 was simulated and optimized for maximum efficiency. We have also studied a helically corrugated structure, which is used in pulse compressors, and analyzed the structures dispersion curves and compared it with measurement results.  相似文献

In this paper, a long-period waveguide grating was fabricated in x-cut lithium niobate substrate by patterned annealed proton exchange waveguide fabrication process. The waveguide mode characteristic was evaluated using a charge-coupled device (CCD) camera. It shows that the waveguide is single mode transmission at a wavelength of 1 550 nm. The transmission spectra of the long period waveguide gratings were measured by optical spectrum analyzer (OSA) and show an extinction ratio of ~17 dB and a 3 dB bandwidth of ~10 nm at the resonant wavelength. The resonant wavelength moves toward to the long wavelength direction as the waveguide width-difference increases in the same period, and also shifts toward to the long wavelength direction with the increase of the period in the case of the same waveguide width-difference. The method of fabricating a long period waveguide grating based on a patterned annealed proton exchange technique simplifies the fabrication process, and at the same time, reduces the fabrication cost.  相似文献

This paper describes the operating principle and the properties of a resonant cavity type mode transducer which was newly devised. The theoretical equations necessary for designing the mode transducer from a TE/sub 10/ mode of a rectangular waveguide to an arbitrary mode of a circular waveguide have been derived, and a design method using the coupling parameters is discussed. The experiments were made for the rectangular TE/sub 10/-circular TE/sub 01/, mode transformation in the 50 Gc band. Showing an example (N=1), the transfer loss, input SWR and mode purity were 1.34 dB, 1.13, and 95 percent (power contents), respectively, at the resonant frequency of 50 Gc/s. The 3 dB bandwidth of the transfer loss was 83 Mc/s at the constant cavity length, but it can be made much larger if the cavity length is adjusted according to the frequency change. This mode transducer is unique in that various modes can be excited purely in the circular guide by merely varying the cavity length.  相似文献

A TE-pass waveguide polarizer is fabricated by utilizing the photobleaching-induced birefringence at room temperature in an electrooptic polymer. The polarizer consists of the photobleached waveguide supporting only TE mode, which is integrated in the middle of the etched rib waveguide supporting both TE and TM modes. It has a simple structure and requires no high temperature process like poling. The measured polarization extinction ratio is about 21 dB at the wavelengths of 1.3 and 1.55 /spl mu/m, and the estimated excess loss is about 0.4 dB.  相似文献
