Online measurement of water volume fraction (WVF) in dehydrated crude oil is a difficult task due to very little water in dehydrated crude oil and high precision requirements. We presents a method to measure water volume fraction in dehydrated crude oil with γ-ray densitometry. The Monte Carlo computer simulation packet GEANT4 was used to analyze the WVF measuring sensitivity of the γ-ray densitometry at different γ-ray energies, and effects of temperature, pressure, salinity and oil components on WVF measurement. The results show that the γ-ray densitome-try has high sensitivity in γ-ray energy ranges of 16~25 keV, and it can distinguish WVF changes of 0.0005. The calculated WVF decreases about 0.0002 with 1 ℃ of temperature increase and they have approximately linear relation with temperature when water volume fraction remains the same. Effects of pressure, salinity and oil components on water volume fraction can be neglected. Experiments were done to analyze sensitivity of the γ-ray densitometry. The results, as compared with simulations, demonstrate that simulation method is reliable and it is feasible to gauge low water volume fraction using low energy γ-rays.  相似文献

Based on the high energy γ-ray yield from the H-bomb D-T fusion reaction, it brings forward the idea applying the 16.76 MeV γ-ray to judge whether the H-bomb happens or not, and to deduce the explosion TNT equivalent accurately. The Monte Carlo N-Particle was applied to simulate the high energy γ-ray radiation characteristics reaching the geosynchronous orbit satellite, and the CVD diamond detector suit for the requirements was researched. A series of experiments were carded out to testify the capabilities of the diamond detector. It provides a brand-new approach to satellite-based nuclear explosion detection.  相似文献

Dynamical dipole mode in heavy-ion collisions has been studied by using an isospin-dependent BoltzmannUehling-Uhlenbeck(IBUU) model. We investigate the dependence of centroid energy and strength of the γspectrum on beam energy, N/Z ratio and mass asymmetry. The calculated yield and angular distribution of theγ-ray produced by dynamical dipole emission are consistent with the experimental data. The results show that the detailed study of dynamical dipole radiation can provide information on the isospin evolution of chargeasymmetric heavy-ion collisions around the normal nuclear density.  相似文献

For a characteristic c-ray with interlaced overlap peak, and the case where its reliable and credible net count cannot be obtained using the current high-purity germanium(HPGe) multichannel γ-ray spectrum software, two new methods are proposed herein to obtain the γ-ray net peak count from the interlaced overlap peak in the HPGe cray spectrometer system, of which one is the symmetric conversion method based on Gaussian distribution and the other is where the energy average value of two close γ-rays is regarded as the γ-ray energy. The experimental results indicate that the two methods mentioned above are reliable and credible. This study is significant for the development of better γ-ray spectrum processing software for measuring complex γ-ray spectra concerning the nuclear reaction cross section, neutron activation analysis, and analysis of transuranium elements, using an HPGe detector.  相似文献

In this paper, we simulate γ-ray energy deposition for different incident energies with four different models using the tool GEANT4 ( Geant4.7.0, 2005 ) developed by CERN (the Center of European Research of Nucleus). The results we obtained indicate that there are different peak values for different incident energies. That is, we can differentiate the incident energy accurately if the detector can determine the peak value accurately. This is meaningful for the geometrical configuration of the detector to get the most probable distribution (MPD) of energy deposition for different incident energies. According to the simulation, we can insert certain slices with large absorption coefficient to obtain a better MPD of energy deposition which will not alter the shape of the energy deposition.  相似文献

In tiffs article, principle and mathematical method of determining the phasc fractions of multiphase flows by using a dual-energy γ-ray system have been described. The dual-energy γ-ray device is composed of radioactive isotopes of ^241Am and ^137Cs with γ-ray energies of 59.5 and 662 keV, respectively. A rational method to calibrate the absorption coefficient was introduced in detail. The modified arithmetic is beneficial to removing the extra Compton scattering from the measured value. The result shows that the dual-energy γ-ray technique can be used in thrce-phase flow with average accuracy greater than 95%, which enables us to determine phase fractions almost independent of the flow regime. Improvement has been achicved on measurement accuracy of phase fractions.  相似文献

The measurement of void fraction is of importance to the oil industry and chemical industry. In this article, the principle and mathematical method of determining the void fraction of horizontal gas-liquid flow by using a single-energy γ-ray system is described. The γ-ray source is the radioactive isotope of 241Am with γ-ray energy of 59.5 keV. The time-averaged value of the void fraction in a 50.0-mm i.d. transparent horizontal pipeline is measured under various combinations of the liquid flow and gas flow. It is found that increasing the gas flow rate at a fixed liquid flow rate would increase the void fraction. Test data are compared with the predictions of the correlations and a good agreement is found. The result shows that the designed γ-ray system can be used for measuring the void fraction in a horizontal gas-liquid two-phase flow with high accuracy.  相似文献

The testes of the B6C3F1 hybrid strain mice were irradiated with 0.05Gy of ^16O^8 ion/^60Co γ-ray as the pre-exposure dose,and were then irradiated with 2 Gy of ^16O^8 ion/^60Co γ-ray as challenging irradiation dosc at 4h after pre-exposure.The results show that irradiation of mouse testes with 2Gy of ^16O^8 ion or ^60Co-γ-ray significantly diminished mouse body mass,testis mass and serum testosterone.However,Pre-exposure with a low-dose (0.05Gy)significantly reduces this kind of effect.The relative biological effectiveness of ^6O^8 ion was calculated with respect to ^60Co γ-ray for the induction of reduction in body mass,testis mass and serum testosterone to be 1.71,1.81 and 1.42 respectively.γ  相似文献

The natural radioactivities in three major groups of foodstuff widely consumed in Upper Egypt were determined. The specific activities of ^226Ra, ^232Th, and ^40K in cereals, leguminosae, and flour were measured using γ-ray spectroscopy. Another group of hay, water, and soil samples from the same location were also analyzed. Hay samples were found to contain the highest radioactivity concentration among all the samples that were investigated. This increment could be due to the high water content in the shoots which tends to accumulate soluble radionuclides. The average calculated concentrations of soil samples in the present study exhibits the lowest values with respect to those from different countries. In the case of water samples, the average activities of both ^232Th and ^40K were similar to those for soil while ^226Ra was twice that of water sample. The annual ingestion dose from each radionuclide was calculated. The computed annual dose owing to daily intake of radium, thorium, and potassium via wheat flour, lentils, and bean in the present study (214.8 μSv) is ten times lower than the global average annual radiation dose (2400 μSv) from the natural radiation sources as proposed by UNSCEAR. The obtained results show that the dose values are quite low and carry insignificant radiation dose to the public.  相似文献

The recent increasing use of γ-rays industrial computed tomography(γ-rays ICT) in various fields has induced greater attention to its performance as well as to considerations of radiation safety. It is understood that radiation protection planning cannot be sacrificed for the sake of CT image quality during the design, manufacture,and layout of γ-rays ICT systems. In the present work, we describe a typical γ-rays ICT system in brief, and, based on experience and pertinent examples, we propose design requirements for ensuring the radiation safety of the sealed radioactive source, source container, and workspace. The design examples and dose rate measurement results illustrate that the proposed design standards are reasonable,feasible, and safe, and are therefore meaningful for the design, manufacture, and layout of γ-rays ICT systems. This paper discussed the predominant measures associated with the radiation protection of γ-rays ICT systems in accordance with the pertinent Chinese standards. In addition, based on experience and pertinent examples, the design requirements for ensuring the radiation safety of a sealed radioactive source, source container, and workspace were defined in detail. The design examples and dose rate measurements conducted in conjunction with a γ-rays ICT system and workspace employing the proposed design standards have illustrated that the proposals provided in this paper are reasonable, feasible, and safe, and are therefore meaningful for the design, manufacture, and layout of γ-rays ICT systems.  相似文献

In order to extract the information of 662-keV 137Cs spectra from the overlapping peaks with 583-keV 208Tl,609-keV 214Bi,the overlapping peaks are measured by in-situ γ-ray spectrometer using a NaI(Tl) detector.The spectral model is optimized by the Gaussian fitting algorithm,and the optimized fitting indexes for fitting/original value are from 0.96 to 0.99.Gaussian fitting verified by experiment is feasible for γ-ray spectrum analysis.The full energy peak of 137Cs is extracted correctly from the overlapping peaks,it is important for in-situ γ-ray spectrometer to estimate contamination of 137Cs in radiated environment and nuclear accident.  相似文献

A method is established for measuring low energy γ-rays dose by using CMOS sensors without any X-/γ-ray converters. Gamma-ray source of241 Am and152Eu are used to test the system. Based on gray value, an analysis method is proposed to obtain the γ-ray dose. Cumulative dose is determined by correlating the gray value to the dose readings of standard dosimeters. The relationship between gray value and the cumulative dose of γ-rays are trained by using back propagation neural network with BFGS algorithm. After comparison, it shows that BFGS algorithm trainings are suitable for different γ-ray sources under higher error condition. These indicate the feasibility of measuring low energy γ-ray dose by using common CMOS image sensors.  相似文献

Natural radionuclides in the phosphate rock samples collected from Wadi Batur,Wadi Hegaza and Gabal Abu Had at Eastern Desert were determined using a high resolution γ-ray spectrometer.The experimental results concerning ^226Ra,232Th and their daughters are presented.Analyses of the measured spectra show that ^226Ra is distinguished with remarkable activities with average values ranging from 22.4 to 558Bq/kg,while ^232Th activity concentration is in the range of 9.7 to 92.8Bq/kg.The results of the analyses were found to be in a good agreement with the data obtained by others.  相似文献

The competing reactions between existing Ni silicides surrounded by Si and Ni were investigated by thermal annealing and MeV Si ion beam mixing. With high energy irradiation, the energy deposition at both interfaces, Ni/Ni silicide and Ni silicide/Si, is equal. Two MeV He~- RBS and TEM were used to obtain the reacted layer composition and epitaxial orientation, respectively. Also glancing angle Co K_a. X-ray diffraction was utilized to identify phase formation. The main results indicate that the existing silicides preferentially react with Ni layer, and that there are pronounced differences of Ni silicide phase transition between thermal annealing and MeV Si ion beam mixing, even though the mixing was performed in radiation enhanced diffusion regime. The results can be explained in term of the heat of silicide formation and surface energy change.  相似文献

Particle melting and substrate temperature are important in controlling deposited density and residual stress in thermal plasma deposition of refractory materials. In this paper, both the heating and cooling behaviours of tungsten particles inside a radio frequency inductively coupled plasma (ICP) and the plasma heat flux to the substrate were investigated. The distribution of the plasma-generated heat on device, powder injection probe, deposition chamber, and substrate was determined by measuring the water flow rate and the flow-in and flow-out water temperatures in the four parts. Substrate temperature was measured by a two-colour pyrometer during the ICP deposition of tungsten. Experimental results show that the heat flux to the substrate accounts for about 20% of the total plasma energy, the substrate temperature can reach as high as 2100 K, and the heat loss by radiation is significant in the plasma deposition of tungsten.  相似文献

The distribution of energy deposition density in radiate region and its surrounding areas from y-rays was simulated and analyzed for a water-ball model with Geant4 package ( Geant4.7.0,2005 ) developed by CERN (the Center of European Research of Nucleus). The results show that the distribution depends strongly on the collimating condition of radiation beam. A well-collimated beam would reduce radiation effects on surrounding areas.  相似文献

The properties of radicals from γ-ray irradiated silk fabrics were studied by electron spin resonance method (ESR). The ESR spectra of silk fabrics irradiated in N2 showed a doublet at room temperature. The doublet became a singlet at g=2.0057 after placing the sample in air for 24 hours. This can be explained by formation of peroxide radicals. The radical concentration of the irradiated silk fabric and the decay rate of radicals are significantly affected by irradiation conditions, which include the absorbed dose, atmosphere, and water content of the silk fabric samples. However, no dose rate effect on the radical concentration was observed. The results are of help in our practice of property modification of silk products by radiation graft copolymerization.  相似文献
