The novel coronavirus has played a disastrous role in many countries worldwide. The outbreak became a major epidemic, engulfing the entire world in lockdown and it is now speculated that its economic impact might be worse than economic deceleration and decline. This paper identifies two different models to capture the trend of closing stock prices in Brazil (BVSP), Russia (IMOEX.ME), India (BSESN), and China (SSE), i.e., (BRIC) countries. We predict the stock prices for three daily time periods, so appropriate preparations can be undertaken to solve these issues. First, we compared the ARIMA, SutteARIMA and Holt-Winters (H-W) methods to determine the most effective model for predicting data. The stock closing price of BRIC country data was obtained from Yahoo Finance. That data dates from 01 November 2019 to 11 December 2020, then divided into two categories--training data and test data. Training data covers 01 November 2019 to 02 December 2020. Seven days (03 December 2020 to 11 December 2020) of data was tested to determine the accuracy of the models using training data as a reference. To measure the accuracy of the models, we obtained the means absolute percentage error (MAPE) and mean square error (MSE). Prediction model Holt-Winters was found to be the most suitable for forecasting the Brazil stock price (BVSP) while MAPE (0.50) and MSE (579272.65) with Holt-Winters (smaller than ARIMA and SutteARIMA), model SutteARIMA was found most appropriate to predict the stock prices of Russia (IMOEX.ME), India (BSESN), and China (SSE) when compared to ARIMA and Holt-Winters. MAPE and MSE with SutteARIMA: Russia (MAPE:0.7; MSE:940.20), India (MAPE:0.90; MSE:207271.16), and China (MAPE: 0.72; MSE: 786.28). Finally, Holt-Winters predicted the daily forecast values for the Brazil stock price (BVSP) (12 December to 14 December 2020 i.e., 115757.6, 116150.9 and 116544.1), while SutteARIMA predicted the daily forecast values of Russia stock prices (IMOEX.ME) (12 December to 14 December 2020 i.e., 3238.06, 3241.54 and 3245.01), India stock price (BSESN) (12 December to 14 December 2020 i.e.,. 45709.38, 45828.71 and 45948.05), and China stock price (SSE) (11 December to 13 December 2020 i.e., 3397.56, 3390.59 and 3383.61) for the three time periods.  相似文献

The presence of mixed valence states of elements is supposed to be a common characteristic feature of the high-T c superconductors, based on copper oxides. Methods have been suggested for the determination of Cu(III) in the Y-Ba-Cu-O ceramics and separate determination of two oxidants: Bi(V) and Cu(III), Tl(III) and Cu(III) in the corresponding materials. Compounds of Bi(V) oxidize in the ions of Mn(II) to MnO 4 in the acidic medium. Active oxygen, bound to Cu(III) is isolated, not oxidizing Mn(II). MnO 4 is titrated then with a solution of Fe(II) sulphate. For the determination of Tl(III) the sample is dissolved in the acid, Cu(III) is reduced to Cu(II) and Tl(III) is titrated with the hydroquinone solution. The compounds of Bi(V), Tl(III) and Cu(III), having high oxidation-reduction potentials can oxidize the complex Co(II)-EDTA to Co(III)-EDTA. The colour intensity of the latter is proportional to the content of Cu(III) or to the sum of Bi(V) and Cu(III) or Tl(III) and Cu(III). The content of Cu(III) in Bi- and Tl-containing materials is determined by the difference.  相似文献

This work was undertaken to investigate the cause of sludge acidification that led to disruption of the activated sludge process treating coking wastewater from a steel-making plant in Taiwan. An activated sludge reactor (ASR) with a working volume of 80 L was used as a model system to simulate the behavior of the real wastewater treatment process. Parameters that may cause acidification or inactivation of the sludge (NH(3), SCN(-), S(2)O(3)(2-) and CN(-)) were studied individually to examine for their effects on the performance of the ASR. The results show that high loading of NH(3), SCN(-) and CN(-) did not lead to pH decrease, while the ASR attained 85% COD removal and nearly 100% SCN degradation. In contrast, when the wastewater was supplemented with ca. 1,000 mg/L of S(2)O(3)(2-), the pH dropped to nearly 4.0 in 2 days and the COD and SCN removal yields were significantly lower (at 50 and 0-20%, respectively). Thus, overloading of S(2)O(3)(2-) was apparently a key factor causing sludge acidification. The results suggest that to ensure a normal functioning of the activated sludge, the influent S(2)O(3)(2-) concentration should be closely monitored and that the pH control of the ASR is indispensable when the S(2)O(3)(2-) loading is in excess.  相似文献

The effect of different grades of hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) on the film-formation and taste-masking ability for ibuprofen granules was evaluated. Three batches of coated ibuprofen granules were prepared using a roto-granulator, each with a different coating composition. Two grades of HEC [MW 300,000 (H) and MW 90,000 (L)] were combined with three different grades of HPMC [MW 11,000 (L), MW 25,000 (M) and MW 35,000 (H)] to prepare the coating solutions. Mechanical strength and physical properties of the polymer films were evaluated. Films made from HPMC (L)/HEC (H), HPMC (M)/HEC (H), and HPMC (H)/HEC (H) were stronger and more flexible than the HPMC (L)/HEC (L) films. The assay, dissolution, particle size distribution, and environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM) data of the three batches of the coated ibuprofen granules were similar. These data indicated that the two grades of HEC had equivalent film-coating properties. However, the HPMC (L)/HEC (L) film-coated granules showed better taste-masking characteristics (no burning after-taste) than the HPMC (L)/HEC (H) and HPMC (M)/HEC (H) film-coated granules. The ESEM data of the polymer films indicated that both HPMC (L)/HEC (H) and HPMC (M)/HEC (H) films exhibited more roughness and contained larger particles than the HPMC (L)/HEC (L) films. A hydration/dehydration study of the films revealed that HPMC (L)/HEC (H) and HPMC (M)/HEC (H) films were more susceptible to moisture effects, which subsequently led to a faster hydration rate of the polymer films. These data suggest that the molecular weight of the HEC affects the taste-masking ability of the resultant polymer film. The HEC (L) mixed well with the HPMC (L) to yield a uniform film that was more resistant to moisture effects. Hence, for optimum coating applications, particular attention should be paid to the molecular weight of the coating polymers to ensure that they are comparable to each other.  相似文献

Uniformity of bulk density distribution during the die filling process is required to minimize quality problems, such as distortion and cracking, for powder compacts. Understanding the die filling process is necessary in ensuring a uniform powder deposition. The second-generation pressure deposition tester (PDT-II) was used to investigate the deposition process and final pressure distribution of powder filling in toroidal, cylindrical, and E-shaped dies. All tests were conducted using a spray-dried free-flowing granular powder. The results indicated that for toroidal dies: (1) the area around 0° orientation (the leeward end) had the highest pressure values (1186.7 to 2498.0 Pa), with the average pressure values of the remaining area 353.7-648.0 Pa; (2) the pressure distribution was symmetrical about the centerline parallel to the feed shoe movement direction; (3) the highest feed shoe speed (500 mm/s) led to the most nonuniform pressure distribution among the three speeds; (4) higher feed shoe speed did not always result in higher final pressure values; and (5) the right die tended to have higher final pressure values (215.0 to 2498.0 Pa) than the center die (95.4 to 2052.5 Pa). For E-shaped dies: (1) the final pressure values of the middle leg (308.9 to 760.7 Pa) were higher than those of the left and the right legs (148.9 to 530.3 Pa); (2) the area along the backside had the highest final pressure value (1054.6 to 1303.8 Pa); (3) the pressure distribution was symmetrical about the centerline parallel to the feed shoe movement direction; and (4) neither the center die nor the right die always had higher pressure values than the other one at all locations. Comparison between cylindrical and toroidal dies indicated that: (1) neither of the two die shapes (cylinder and toroid) led to consistently higher or lower final pressure values at all locations and (2) for all three feed shoe speeds, the toroidal die had higher average final pressure values in the 0° orientation.  相似文献

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is characterized as a disease caused by a novel coronavirus known as severe acute respiratory coronavirus syndrome 2 (SARS-CoV-2; formerly known as 2019-nCoV). In December 2019, COVID-19 began to appear in a few countries. By the beginning of 2020, it had spread to most countries across the world. This is when education challenges began to arise. The COVID-19 crisis led to the closure of thousands of schools and universities all over the world. Such a situation requires reliance on e-learning and robotics education for students to continue their studies to avoid the mingling between people and students. In relation to this alternative learning solution, the present study was conducted. A systematic literature review on educational robotics (ER) keywords between 2015–2020 was carried out for the purpose to review a total of 2253 articles from the selected sources; Scopus (452), Taylor & Francis (311), Science Direct (427), IEEE Xplore (221), and Web of Science (842). This review procedure was labelled as Taxonomy 1. After filtering Taxonomy 1, it was found that 98 scientific articles formed the so-called Taxonomy II that was categorized into six categories: (i) Robotics concepts, (ii) Device, (iii) Robotic applications, (iv) Manufacturing robots, (v) Robotics analysis, and (vi) Education/taxonomy. For this study, only 35 articles in this specific field were selected, of which were then assigned into three categories: (i) Application, (ii) Platform, and (iii) Educational. The results show that the application category carries 17.4%, platform 20%, and education 22.85%. This study serves as the application platform to help students, academics, and researchers.  相似文献

An exfoliation-reassembly-activation (ERA) approach to lithium-ion battery cathode fabrication is introduced, demonstrating that inactive HCoO(2) powder can be converted into a reversible Li(1-x) H(x) CoO(2) thin-film cathode. This strategy circumvents the inherent difficulties often associated with the powder processing of the layered solids typically employed as cathode materials. The delamination of HCoO(2) via a combination of chemical and mechanical exfoliation generates a highly processable aqueous dispersion of [CoO(2) ](-) nanosheets that is critical to the ERA approach. Following vacuum-assisted self-assembly to yield a thin-film cathode and ion exchange to activate this material, the generated cathodes exhibit excellent cyclability and discharge capacities approaching that of low-temperature-prepared LiCoO(2) (~83 mAh g(-1) ), with this good electrochemical performance attributable to the high degree of order in the reassembled cathode.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of size and phase composition on human exposure to airborne titanium dioxide (TiO(2)) nanoparticles (NPs) at workplaces. We reanalyzed published data of particle size distribution of airborne TiO(2) NPs during manufacturing activities and linked a physiologically based lung model to estimate size- and phase-specific TiO(2) NP burdens in target lung cells. We also adopted a cell model to simulate the exposure time-dependent size/phase-specific cell uptake of TiO(2) NPs in human dermal and lung cells. Combining laboratory, field, and modeling results, we proposed two major findings: (i) the estimated median effective anatase TiO(2) NP concentration (EC50) for cytotoxicity response on human dermal fibroblasts was estimated to be 24.84 (95% CI: 7.3-70.2) nmolmL(-1) and EC50 estimate for inflammatory response on human lung epithelial cells was 5414 (95% CI: 3370-7479) nmolmL(-1) and (ii) packers and surface treatment workers at the TiO(2) NP production workplaces are unlikely to pose substantial risk on lung inflammatory response. Nevertheless, our findings point out that TiO(2) NP production workers have significant risk on cytotoxicity response at relatively high airborne anatase TiO(2) NP concentrations at size range 10-30nm.  相似文献

In the present study, an Enterococcus gallinarum strain was isolated from effluent treatment plant of a textile industry based on its ability to decolourize C.I. Direct Black 38 (DB38), a benzidine-based azo dye. Effects of dye concentration and medium composition on dye decolourization were studied. The strain was found to decolourize DB38 even under aerobic conditions. Kinetics of DB38 decolourization was also examined, and V(max) and K(s) of decolourization were found to be higher in Luria broth (12.8 mg l(-1)h(-1) and 490.6 mg l(-1)) than in minimal medium (4.09 mg l(-1)h(-1) and 161.84 mg l(-1)). However, decolourization rate/biomass was found to be higher in minimal medium than in Luria broth, indicating greater decolourization efficiency of biomass in the former. The study also revealed biodegradation of DB38 to benzidine and its further deamination to 4-aminobiphenyl (4-ABP) by the culture. Ammonia released during this process was used as nitrogen source for growth of the culture.  相似文献

The present study is concerned with the sulfidation treatment of copper-containing plating sludge towards copper resource recovery by flotation of copper sulfide from treated sludge. The sulfidation treatment was carried out by contacting simulated or real copper plating sludge with Na(2)S solution for a period of 5 min to 24 h. The initial molar ratio of S(2-) to Cu(2+) (S(2-) to Me(2+) in the case of real sludge) was adjusted to 1.00, 1.25 or 1.50, while the solid to liquid ratio was set at 1:50. As a result, it was found that copper compounds were converted to various copper sulfides within the first 5 min. In the case of simulated copper sludge, CuS was identified as the main sulfidation product at the molar ratio of S(2-) to Cu(2+) of 1.00, while Cu(7)S(4) (Roxbyite) was mainly found at the molar ratios of S(2-) to Cu(2+) of 1.50 and 1.25. Based on the measurements of oxidation-reduction potential, the formation of either CuS or Cu(7)S(4) at different S(2-) to Cu(2+) molar ratios was attributed to the changes in the oxidation-reduction potential. By contrast, in the case of sulfidation treatment of real copper sludge, CuS was predominantly formed, irrespective of S(2-) to Me(2+) molar ratio.  相似文献

Mercuric chloride solutions have historically been used as pesticides to prevent bacterial, fungal and insect degradation of herbarium specimens. The University of Manchester museum herbarium contains over a million specimens from numerous collections, many preserved using HgCl(2) and its transformation to Hg(v)(0) represents a health risk to herbarium staff. Elevated mercury concentrations in work areas (~ 1.7 μg m(-3)) are below advised safe levels (<25 μg m(-3)) but up to 90 μg m(-3) mercury vapour was measured in specimen boxes, representing a risk when accessing the samples. Mercury vapour release correlated strongly with temperature. Mercury salts were observed on botanical specimens at concentrations up to 2.85 wt% (bulk); XPS, SEM-EDS and XANES suggest the presence of residual HgCl(2) as well as cubic HgS and HgO. Bacterially derived, amorphous nanospheres of elemental selenium effectively sequestered the mercury vapour in the specimen boxes (up to 19 wt%), and analysis demonstrated that the Hg(v)(0) was oxidised by the selenium to form stable HgSe on the surface of the nanospheres. Biogenic Se(0) can be used to reduce Hg(v)(0) in long term, slow release environments.  相似文献

The effectiveness of the Fenton's reagent (H(2)O(2)/Fe(2+)) in the treatment of carpet dyeing wastewater was investigated under different operational conditions, namely, H(2)O(2) and FeSO(4) concentrations, initial pH and temperature. Up to 95% COD removal efficiency was attained using 5.5 g/l FeSO(4) and 385 g/l H(2)O(2) at a pH of 3, temperature of 50 degrees C. The H(2)O(2)/Fe(2+) ratio (g/g) was found to be between 95 and 290 for maximum COD removal. It was noteworthy that, keeping H(2)O(2)/Fe(2+) ratio constant within the range of 95-290, it became possible to decrease FeSO(4) concentration to 1.1 g/l and H(2)O(2) concentration to 96.3 g/l, still achieving nearly the same COD removal efficiency. The relative efficiencies of Fenton's oxidation and coagulation stages revealed that Fenton's coagulation removed organic compounds which were not removed by Fenton's oxidation, indicating that the Fenton's coagulation acted as a polishing step.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to develop a probabilistic approach of high cycle fatigue (HCF) behaviour prediction of welded joints taking into account the surface modifications induced by welding and the post‐welding shot peening treatment. In this work, the HCF Crossland criterion has been used and adopted to the case of welded and shot peened welded parts, by taking into account the surface modifications which are classified as follows: (i) the compressive residual stresses, (ii) the surface work‐hardening, (iii) the geometrical irregularities and (iv) the superficial defects. The random effects due to the dispersions of: (i) the HCF Crossland criterion material characteristics (ii) the applied loading and (iii) the surface modifications parameters are introduced in the proposed model. The HCF reliability has been computed by using the ‘strength load’ method with Monte Carlo simulation. The reliability computation results lead to obtain interesting and useful iso‐probabilistic Crossland diagrams (PCD) for different welding and shot peening surface conditions. To validate the proposed method, the approach has been applied to a butt‐welded joint made of S550MC high strength steel (HSS). Four types of specimens are investigated: (i) base metal (BM), (ii) machined and grooved (MG) condition, (iii) As welded (AW) condition and (iv) as welded and shot peened (AWSP) condition. The comparison between the computed reliabilities and the experimental investigations reveals good agreement leading to validate the proposed approach. The effects of the different welded and post‐weld shot peened specimen's surface properties are analysed and discussed using the design of experiments (DoE) techniques.  相似文献

Intradialytic hypotension (IDH) is one of the most important short-term complications to hemodialysis (HD). Inadequate cardiac filling due to a reduction in the central blood volume is believed to be a major etiological factor. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether these pathophysiologic events are reflected in the central venous oxygen saturation (ScO(2)) and thoracic admittance (TA) during dialysis. Twenty ambulatory HD patients, 11 hypotension prone (HP) and 9 hypotension resistant, with central vascular access, were monitored during 3 HD sessions each. ScO(2), TA, finger blood pressure (BP), and relative change in blood volume (DeltaBV) were measured and sampled continuously. The relative TA decrease and DeltaBV were both largest in the HP group (p<0.05 for both), whereas ScO(2) decreased only in HP patients (p<0.001). Baseline TA was lower in the HP group (p<0.01). Changes in ScO(2) and TA correlated much closer than did changes in ScO(2) and DeltaBV (r=0.43 and 0.18, respectively). Our results suggest that an intradialytic decrease in cardiac output, as reflected by a fall in ScO(2), is a common feature to HD patients prone to IDH. In patients using a central vascular access, ScO(2) and TA measurements may be more specific to the pathophysiologic events preceding IDH than DeltaBV-the current standard monitoring method.  相似文献

Two novel inorganic ion exchange materials magneso-silicate and magnesium alumino-silicate have been synthesized under identical conditions. The structure of these materials was established by chemical analysis, X-ray diffraction, thermogravemetric and differential thermal analyses, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray fluorescence analysis. Magneso-silicate and magnesium alumino-silicate were found to have the formulas MgSi(5.59)O(12.18).5.93H(2)O and MgAl(2.32)Si(5.2)O(14.88).18.23H(2)O, respectively. The structure of both sorbents was arranged and predict according to the ChemDraw Ultra program. The ion exchange capacities of these materials for some radionuclides and heavy metals Cs(+), Co(2+), Cd(2+), Zn(2+) and Cu(2+) were investigated and the data obtained showed that magnesium alumino-silicate has a higher capacity for these cations compared to magneso-silicate. Distribution coefficients in nitric acid medium have been evaluated to explore the separation potentiality of magneso-silicate and magnesium alumino-silicate for Cs(+), Co(2+), Cd(2+), Cu(2+), Zn(2+) and Fe(3+) ions. Sorption isotherms for all cations were investigated and the data showed the applicability of Freundlich isotherm for all cases.  相似文献

Waste Ponkan mandarin (Citrus reticulata) peel was used as biosorbent to extract Ni(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) from aqueous solutions at room temperature. To achieve the best adsorption conditions the influence of pH and contact time were investigated. The isotherms of adsorption were fitted to the Langmuir equation. Based on the capacity of adsorption of the natural biosorbent to interact with the metallic ions, the following results were obtained 1.92, 1.37 and 1.31 mmol g(-1) for Ni(II), Co(II) and Cu(II), respectively, reflecting a maximum adsorption order of Ni(II)>Co(II)>Cu(II). The quick adsorption process reached the equilibrium before 5, 10 and 15 min for Ni(II), Co(II) and Cu(II), respectively, with maximum adsorptions at pH 4.8. In order to evaluate the Ponkan mandarin peel a biosorbent in dynamic system, a glass column was fulfilled with 1.00 g of this natural adsorbent, and it was fed with 5.00 x 10(-4)mol l(-1) of Ni(II) or Co(II) or Cu(II) at pH 4.8 and 3.5 ml min(-1). The lower breakpoints (BP(1)) were attained at concentrations of effluent of the column attained the maximum limit allowed of these elements in waters (>0.1 mg l(-1)) which were: 110, 100 and 130 bed volumes (V(effluent)/V(adsorbent)), for Ni(II), Co(II) and Cu(II), respectively. The higher breakpoints (BP(2)) were attained when the complete saturation of the natural adsorbent occurred, and the values obtained were: 740, 540 and 520 bed volumes for Ni(II), Co(II) and Cu(II), respectively.  相似文献

采用水热法合成两种含镧系稀土金属的金属有机骨架:1,3,5-均苯三甲酸铽(Tb (BTC))和1,3,5-均苯三甲酸铕(Eu (BTC)),采用原位法以1,4-双(2-三氟甲基-4-氨基苯氧基)苯(6FAPB)和1,2,3,4-环丁烷四酸二酐(CBDA)为单体,将Tb (BTC)和Eu (BTC)分别引入到聚酰亚胺(PI)中,制备出Tb (BTC)和Eu (BTC)质量分数分别为7wt%的Tb (BTC)/PI和Eu (BTC)/PI两种复合材料膜。利用FTIR、紫外-可见光谱仪(UV-vis)、TGA、XRD、SEM、万能拉伸试验机和气体渗透性测试等对Tb (BTC)/PI和Eu (BTC)/PI复合材料的结构和性能进行表征。研究结果表明,Tb (BTC)和Eu (BTC)含有较少的孔结构,且孔径在介孔范围,但热稳定性较高。Tb (BTC)和Eu (BTC)的加入提高了Tb (BTC)/PI和Eu (BTC)/PI复合材料的热性能和力学性能,玻璃化转变温度由纯PI (6FAPB-CBDA)的351.9℃分别提高到358.0℃和354.8℃,失重5%热分解温度由431.6℃分别提高到447.8℃和441.1℃,拉伸强度由60.8 MPa分别提高到77.7 MPa和70.4 MPa,杨氏模量由1.54 GPa分别提高到2.80 GPa和2.17 GPa。但Tb (BTC)/PI和Eu (BTC)/PI复合材料膜的光透明性有所降低,500 nm处的光透过率由82.3%分别下降到23.0%和24.2%。气体渗透测试结果表明,Tb (BTC)和Eu (BTC)的加入均可提高PI (6FAPB-CBDA)膜的气体渗透性,Eu (TBC)/PI对H2、O2、N2和CO2的渗透性较高,分别为119.23、15.02、3.21和90.35 Barrer,O2/N2为4.68,CO2/N2为28.15。  相似文献

The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is under development by the US Department of Energy (DOE) for the geologic disposal of transuranic waste. The construction of complementary cumulative distribution functions (CCDFs) for total radionuclide release from the WIPP to the accessible environment is described. The resultant CCDFs (i) combine releases due to cuttings and cavings, spallings, direct brine release, and long-term transport in flowing groundwater; (ii) fall substantially to the left of the boundary line specified by the US Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) standard 40 CFR 191 for the geologic disposal of radioactive waste; and (iii) constitute an important component of the DOE's successful Compliance Certification Application to the EPA for the WIPP. Insights and perspectives gained in the performance assessment (PA) that led to these CCDFs are described, including the importance of: (i) an iterative approach to PA; (ii) uncertainty and sensitivity analysis; (iii) a clear conceptual model for the analysis; (iv) the separation of stochastic (i.e. aleatory) and subjective (i.e. epistemic) uncertainty; (v) quality assurance procedures; (vi) early involvement of peer reviewers, regulators, and stakeholders; (vii) avoidance of conservative assumptions; and (viii) adequate documentation.  相似文献

Information on the prevalence and predictors of use of the Internet by patients can be applied to the design and promotion of healthcare Internet technologies. To our knowledge, few studies on Internet use by end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients have been reported. The objectives of this study are to ascertain the prevalence and predictors of Internet use by ESRD patients among different dialysis modalities. A questionnaire surveying Internet use was delivered in person to 199 conventional hemodialysis patients (57 returned), and mailed to 170 peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients (42 returned), and 65 nocturnal home hemodialysis (NHD) patients (43 returned). Of the respondents, most (58%) have used the Internet to find information on their health condition. The strong majority (76%) of these patients have easy access to the Internet. A higher proportion of NHD patients (86%) used the Internet compared with the PD patients (60%) (p=0.02). Internet use was found to be more prevalent with younger (p<0.001), more educated (p=0.001), and Canadian-born patients (p=0.005). The high prevalence of Internet use and easy access to the Internet by ESRD patients suggest that future Internet information and communication systems for healthcare management in ESRD will likely be well adopted by this patient population.  相似文献

Various chemical treatments have been applied to six brown, red and green seaweed species with a view to enhancing their metal removal for Cu(II), Cr(III) and Cr(VI). Treatment with acetone resulted in the greatest enhancement for both cationic and anionic species with relatively low mass losses (15–35%), indicating its low risk to biomass operational stability. Cation binding was increased by 69%, while the total Cr removal was augmented by 15%. Cr(VI) binding was shown to be an adsorption-coupled reduction, whereby Cr(VI) was bound to the biomass surface at pH 2 and subsequently reduced to Cr(III). Acetone treatment also resulted in biomasses that were capable of converting up to 83% of Cr(VI) in solution to Cr(III). Blocking of carboxyl and amino functionalities had significant negative effects both on total Cr removal as well as percentage conversion of Cr(VI) to Cr(III). Results therefore indicated the significant role played by these moieties in metal binding to these seaweeds. Potentiometric titrations displayed agreement between the degree of esterification and the decrease in Cu(II) removal for Ulva spp. and Polysiphonia lanosa. FTIR analysis identified changes in biomass functionality and availability after chemical modification, the results of which were in agreement with metal removal studies. In conclusion, these biosorbents represent suitable candidates to replace conventional removal technologies for metal bearing wastewaters, in particular for the detoxification of hazardous Cr(VI) waste streams.  相似文献
