Use of warm asphalt mix has been recently receiving a great attention because it allows decreasing production and distribution temperatures about 30–40°C by either reducing bitumen viscosity or enhancing mixture performance. These mixes also have other advantages such as a low pollution, reduced fuel consumption, and more implementation seasons. Despite these benefits, there is a constant concern about the performance of these mixes under the conditions such as permanent deformation, fatigue cracking, and low-temperature cracking. In the present study, two types of bitumen modifiers including liquid additive and Sasobit were used to adjust rheological properties of bitumen. After conducting the required tests on bitumen specimens prepared using these two additives and comparing the results obtained from two common and Strategic Highway Research Program tests under aged and nonaged conditions, it was revealed that, considering the viscosity of bitumen, these additives improve bitumen performance at ambient temperatures. Besides, the results indicate the improvement in rutting criteria (G*/sinδ) and fatigue criterion (G*×sinδ). 相似文献

岩沥青的掺量直接影响了混合料的路用性能,也对工程的经济性产生巨大影响。通过车辙试验、浸水马歇尔试验、冻融劈裂试验和低温小梁弯曲试验,分别评价了不同岩沥青掺量的混合料的高温性能、水稳定性和低温性能。研究认为,随着岩沥青掺量的增加,其对混合料路用性能的影响逐渐减弱,当掺量由20%增加到25%时,性能变化很小。因此,在工程应用中,建议岩沥青的掺量宜小于20%。 相似文献

In this research study, Sasobit as warm additive was used to modify original binder (60/70 penetration grade). The binder fatigue and rutting performance was evaluated through linear amplitude sweep (LAS) and multiple stress creep and recovery test, respectively. Results indicated that 3% Sasobit modified binder has the highest percent recovery value and the lowest Jnr value, but had the highest sensitivity to a sudden increase in the stress level inside the asphalt mixture. The LAS test results demonstrated that the fatigue behavior of asphalt binders modified with 1% Sasobit is the highest one. 相似文献

Driven by Kyoto protocol to reduce the gas emission, warm mix asphalt (WMA) as an alternative of hot mix asphalt has gained huge interest among researchers. Despite many advantages, rutting resistance of WMAs is always questionable. In this study, ethylene bis(stearamide) (EBS) was used as a wax-based additive to produce WMAs. Samples were produced at three different compaction temperatures. To evaluate rutting resistance of mixtures, all cylindrical specimens were tested by dynamic creep and dynamic modulus tests at various compaction temperatures. Results indicate that rutting resistance of EBS-modified samples are remarkable, especially when compaction temperature is low. 相似文献

Results indicated that the binder modified with 2% rheofalt has the highest Jnr value which lead the pure binder more susceptible to rutting.
