Abstract when the Sixth International Congress on Catalysis convend in London on July 12,1976, almost exactly 20 years had gone by since the first congress had met in Philadelphia. The elapsed two decades were golden years for catalysis science and technology. These disciplines, taking advantage of the advances in th chemistry and physics of surfaces and the solid state, in coorfinationchemistry, in metalorganies, in computer, chromatography, and other instrumental techniques, and profiting from the general scientific and technical eupnoria engendered by the spectacular exploits of space exploration, have progressed at a tremendous pace on a wice front. The Wacker process, ammondation, Nana-Ziegler catalysts, ceoilte, cracking, bimetallic reforming, wilkinson, chemistry, oxycnlorination, olerin disproportionation or matatnesis, polyrethane foams and elascomers, and catalytic mufflers are some of the key words that signify the revolutionary catalytic technologies developed during this period. 相似文献

The Seventh International Congress on Catalysis was held in the Keio Plaza Hotel, Tokyo, June 30-July 4, 1980. The proceedings were copublished in 1981 by Kodanaha Ltd., Tokyo and Elsevier, Amsterdam. The proceedings will include the plenary lectures (5), contributed papers (104), abstracts of communications (64), and the discussion of contributed papers. It is unfortunate for those who did not attend that discussion of the communications could also be included. The communications were an excellent innovation and, it may be hoped, a new tradition for future Congresses. They had a later acceptance date than contributed papers and were limited in length to 20% of that allowed for regular papers (10 pages). All communications were presented on the opening day of the Congress. Because they were brief and, in many cases, were research progress reports, the discussion was lively. 相似文献

The Fifth International Congress on Catalysis was held at the Breakers Hotel, Palm Beach, Florida, on August 21-25, 1972. It had been originally scheduled for Miami Beach, Florida, but it was transferred to Palm Beach when the National Convention of the Republican Party was moved from San Diego, California, to Miami Beach. The facilities of the Breakers were excellent and, despite the late date of the change in location, the technical details of the congress moved smoothly. The Proceedings of the Congress will be published by North-Holland, Amsterdam and, it is hoped, by April 1973. 相似文献

From an industrial chemical perspective, successful oxidation catalysis poses three challenges: (1) use (di)oxygen, (2) avoid overoxidation of the substrate, and (3) overcome the lack of functionality in the feedstock. From the options discussed, confinement seems to be the most versatile way to meet all the needs of industrial oxidation catalysis. 相似文献

High-throughput experimentation in catalysis comprises the following components: (i) automated high-throughput synthesis, (ii) testing in Stage I and Stage II, for which to some extent novel assays are necessary, (iii) data handling and experimental design tools, and (iv) robotics. This contribution covers these topics, using examples from the research of the authors, but also from the literature, in order to illustrate the problems and opportunities associated with high-throughput experimentation in catalysis, focusing particularly on heterogeneous catalysis. 相似文献

Oxidation Catalysis by Supported Gold Nano-Clusters 总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4
The historical notion regarding the inability of gold to catalyze reactions has been discarded in view of recent studies, which have clearly demonstrated the high catalytic efficiency of supported nano-gold catalysts. Although nano-Au catalysts are known to catalyze a variety of reactions, the major focus has been on CO oxidation catalysis. In this work we focus on the important aspects related to the CO oxidation reaction. Special emphasis is placed on the studies undertaken on model nano-Au systems as these studies have considerably enhanced the understanding of the oxidation process. Gold in a highly dispersed state can selectively oxidize CO in the presence of excess hydrogen (of tremendous interest to state-of-the-art low-temperature fuel cells); related studies are addressed in this review. The nano-gold catalysts have also been investigated for the direct vapor-phase oxidation of propylene to propylene oxide in the presence of molecular oxygen; these investigations are highlighted in this work. 相似文献
