In this paper, a method is presented for the calculation of the coefficients of the series expansion of a function f(t), in the base orthonormal set made up by the eigenfunctions of the self-adjoint operator . We show that the values of the numbers xk> can be obtained by solving the differential equation L + λ) y(t) = Kf(t), in the interval of definition, for each of the eigenvalues λ of L and by using as initial conditions those which determine one of its associated orthonormal functions. This makes the method specially interesting for its implementation on a hybrid computer: One advantage of the proposed method is that the analysis of f(t) does not require the simultaneous presence of the functions of the base set and the problem signal, thus eliminating both the problems of the synchronized generation of signals and the need for storing it in memory. 相似文献

In general, the studies introducing the medical predictive models which frequently handle time series data by direct matching between pairs of features within sequences during calculation of similarity may have following limitations: (1) direct matching may not be a suitable matching because these paired cases by a fixed order may not be with the most similar temporal information, and (2) when two patients have different numbers of multiple cases, some cases may be ignored. For example, one patient with four cases and another one with five cases, only first four cases of these two patients are paired and the left one case may be ignored. In this paper, in order to dynamically determine matching pairs among cases and pair all cases between two patients, we propose a multiple measurements case-based reasoning (MMCBR) to be used for building liver cancer recurrence predictive models. MMCBR and single measurement case-based reasoning (SingleCBR) are evaluated and compared. According to experiment results in this study, the performance of MMCBR models is better than that of SingleCBR models. Multiple measurements accumulated during a period of time do have benefits for building predictive models with improved performance based on this proposed MMCBR method. 相似文献

This study examines using force vectors measured using a directional strain gauge grip dynamometer for estimating finger flexor tendon tension. Fifty-three right-handed participants (25 males and 28 females) grasped varying-sized instrumented cylinders (2.54, 3.81, 5.08, 6.35 and 7.62 cm diameter) using a maximal voluntary power grip. The grip force vector magnitude and direction, referenced to the third metacarpal, was resolved by taking two orthogonal grip force measurements. A simple biomechanical model incorporating the flexor tendons was used to estimate long finger tendon tension during power grip. The flexor digitorum superficialis and the flexor digitorum profundus were assumed to create a moment about the metacarpal phalange (MCP) joint that equals and counteracts a moment around the MCP joint measured externally by the dynamometer. The model revealed that tendon tension increased by 130% from the smallest size handle to the largest, even though grip force magnitude decreased 36% for the same handles. The study demonstrates that grip force vectors may be useful for estimating internal hand forces. 相似文献

A data set consisting of 2259 nucleated cells from the peripheral blood, including immature cells, was systematically investigated using image processing and pattern recognition techniques. A total of 94.2% of all cells could be correctly classified into one of 9 possible main classes. Several subsets were also investigated. Productivity and industrial product quality improvements entail a rational tolerancing process to be applied as early as product design. Once functional conditions are defined, an optimal specification for each component in a mechanical system is to be developed. Despite numerous studies in this area, the problem is still far from solved. It may be decomposed into two stages: development of specifications based on standards, or qualitative synthesis, and calculation of tolerances. To the extent that these two sets of problems are related, we propose to address them in parallel. In this paper, we present an original method that enables us to solve these two problems for the case of serial assembly (stacking) without clearances. This method is based on the use of influence coefficients to obtain the relationship between the functional tolerance and the tolerances associated with the geometry of the mechanism’s interface surfaces. We will describe a calculation algorithm that helps obtain influence coefficients solely from the assembly’s geometric definition. Then, we will show that under our working hypothesis, this relationship is piecewise linear. 相似文献

The fixing process for cycle ambiguity is a major issue for attitude determination using multiple Global Navigation Satellite
System (GNSS) antennas. Existing algorithms have used pseudorange with large noise and ambiguity-included carrier phase measurements
so the volume of the ambiguity search space is inevitably large. We propose a new algorithm to determine the attitude of a
rotating vehicle using Doppler measurement in a closed form. Using differential and angular velocity estimation, we can reduce
the size of the search space and the number of ambiguity candidates. We present simulation results using one master and two
slave GNSS antennas. For all the cases in our simulations, the probability of one epoch fix is over 97%. Moreover, we achieved
resolution of the ambiguity in two consecutive epochs. In other words, the maximum time-to-first-fixed-attitude (TTFFA) of
our algorithm is only two seconds. Our algorithm can reduce the computation load in the ambiguity resolution for rotational
vehicle attitude; consequently, it will be helpful in rapid and accurate determination in a case of phase lock loss due to

The performance of a centrifuge which is used in the uranium enrichment industry depends strongly on the gas flow field inside the device. The flow, governed by linearized hydrodynamic equations, is activated by proper boundary conditions which are controllable functions. A numerical method is developed to determine these functions on the boundaries in order to optimize the separative performance. By expanding the control functions in a finite base, the problem is reduced to minimizing a function with respect to a finite number of variables and solved by the simplex method. 相似文献
