The paper deals with the structural dynamic response of rotor supported by ball bearings. The mathematical model takes into account the sources of nonlinearity such as Hertzian contact force, surface waviness, varying compliance and internal radial clearance resulting transition from no contact to contact state between rolling elements and races. In terms of the feature that the nonlinear bearing forces act on the system, a new reduction method and corresponding integration technique is used to increase the numerical stability and decrease computer time for system analysis. The effects of speed of balanced rotor in which ball bearings show periodic, quasi-periodic and chaotic behavior are analyzed. The results are presented in the form of time displacement responses, frequency spectra and Poincarè maps. It is implied from the frequency spectra that peak amplitude of vibrations appear at the varying compliance frequency.  相似文献

This paper studies the behavior of a flexible rotor supported by a herringbone-grooved gas journal-bearing system. A hybrid method is employed to develop a time-dependent mathematical model of the bearing system. The finite difference method is employed with the successive over relaxation technique to solve the Reynolds equation. The system state trajectories, Poincaré maps, power spectra, and bifurcation diagrams are used to analyze the dynamic behavior of the rotor and the journal center in the horizontal and vertical directions under different operating conditions. The analysis reveals a complex dynamic behavior comprising periodic and quasi-periodic responses of the rotor and the journal center. The present numerical study illustrates the relationship between the dynamic behavior of this type of system and the rotor mass and bearing number. As such, the present results provide a deeper understanding of the non-linear dynamics of gas film rotor-bearing systems.  相似文献

Abstract

The combined effects of surface roughness and viscosity variation due to additives on long journal bearing are analytically studied. The variation in viscosity along the film thickness is considered. The presence of solid particles in the lubricant is an increased effective viscosity, which increases the load carrying capacity and decreases the frictional coefficient, whereas the viscosity variation tends to decrease both the load carrying capacity and coefficient of friction for non-micropolar fluid case. The modified Reynolds type equation for surface roughness has been derived on the basis of Eringen’s micropolar fluid theory. The generalised stochastic random variable with non-zero mean, variance and skewness is assumed to mathematically model the surface roughness on the bearing surface. Numerical results were obtained for the fluid film pressure, load carrying capacity and the coefficient of friction. It is observed that the combined effect is to increase the load carrying capacity and to decrease the coefficient of friction, which improves the performance of the bearing.  相似文献

A combination of two‐dimensional (2D) and three‐dimensional (3D) analyses of tissue volume ultrastructure acquired by serial block face scanning electron microscopy can greatly shorten the time required to obtain quantitative information from big data sets that contain many billions of voxels. Thus, to analyse the number of organelles of a specific type, or the total volume enclosed by a population of organelles within a cell, it is possible to estimate the number density or volume fraction of that organelle using a stereological approach to analyse randomly selected 2D block face views through the cells, and to combine such estimates with precise measurement of 3D cell volumes by delineating the plasma membrane in successive block face images. The validity of such an approach can be easily tested since the entire 3D tissue volume is available in the serial block face scanning electron microscopy data set. We have applied this hybrid 3D/2D technique to determine the number of secretory granules in the endocrine α and β cells of mouse pancreatic islets of Langerhans, and have been able to estimate the total insulin content of a β cell.  相似文献

Based on the idea of continuous cell mapping, an improved Poincare-like cell mapping method is developed. This method can be used for global analysis of nonlinear dynamic systems without missing the periodic solutions and the domains of attraction. A bearing–rotor system is analyzed by using this method, and the influences of initial conditions on transient movement are discussed in detail.  相似文献

This work reports the thermal analysis of hydrodynamically lubricated cycloidal profiled pad thrust bearing (CPPTB) using an efficient numerical method based on Lobatto quadrature technique. The performance parameters with smooth and rough surfaces of cycloidal and plane profiled pads are presented for various operating inputs. Significant increase in magnitude of pressure and substantial reduction in coefficient of friction are observed in the presence of relatively large amplitude of roughness over the surface of stationary pads. Comparisons are made for performance parameters achieved with plane profiled pad thrust bearing (PPPTB) and CPPTB. The load carrying capacity of CPPTB is found significantly high than the PPPTB for the provided set of operating parameters. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In the paper we present efficient algorithm for measurement and simultaneous compression of multidimensional symmetrical γ-ray histograms from event data streams. The compression of data volume is achieved due to both the symmetry of the γ-ray spectra and compression capabilities of the employed randomizing transform. The algorithm of compression is very fast. Acquired compressed data can be later processed in an interactive way.  相似文献
