Nanning is located in the under-developed area with various ethnic minorities in the south of China. Since 1995, Nanning has been undergoing comprehensive improvement in environment in order to bring total changes to the backward urban infrastructure and dirty and disordered urban appearance, as well as the unsatisfactory human settlements environment, especially serious environmental pollution. In the past years, Nanning has launched a movement aimed at planning and constructing the city itself a modern ecological garden city with characteristic and subtropical natures, making the city, at the same time, a new look and walk out a way of developing the economy by raising funds in multiple resources, enlarging investment, speeding infrastructure constructions. In the recent years, Nanning has successively won some awards such as “National Sanitary City”, “National Outstanding City in Environmental Comprehensive Improvement”,“National Garden City”,“National Outstanding Tourist City”. And it was also collected in the 2000 Dubai International Award for Best Practices in Improving the Living Environment as a good practice.
