For the first time a novel carbon paste electrode (CPE) for the detection of trace silver(I) was designed by using derivatized silica-coated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs@SiO2) nanocomposites as a neutral carrier. This proposed electrode, with optimum composition, exhibits a wide dynamic range of 8.6 × 10? 8 to 1.0 × 10? 1 M toward silver(I) with a detection limit of 8.0 × 10? 8 M and a Nernstian slope of 60.8 ± 0.2 mV dec? 1. Meanwhile, it also shows a good selectivity and a relatively fast response time (~ 20 s), a long lifetime (1 month) and a wide pH range (4.0–9.0). Finally, the developed CPEs were successfully applied in the potentiometric titration of potassium bromide and determination of Cl? ions in different water samples.  相似文献

A new copper carbon paste electrode (CPE) based on incorporation bis(2, 4-dihydroxybenzyliden)-1,6-diaminohexane (DHBDAH) in graphite powder matrix has been described. The influence of variables including an amount of graphite, sodium tetraphenylborate (NaTPB), DHBDAH and nujol on the Cu2+ carbon paste electrode response was studied and optimized. The optimum carbon paste composition was set as follows, graphite powder: NaTPB: Nujol: DHBDAH with amount of 150:2.3:30:4 mg, respectively. At the optimum conditions, the potential response is linear over the concentration range of 5.0 × 10? 8 to 1.0 × 10? 1 mol L? 1 with a Nernstian slope of 29.5 ± 1.1 mV per decade of Cu2+ ion concentration. The good performance of electrode such as low detection limit of (LOD) (4 × 10? 8 mol L? 1), wide applicable pH range (2.5–5.5), fast response time (?10 s) and adequate shelf life (69 days) indicate the utility of the proposed electrode for evaluation of Cu2+ ion content in various analysis. Due to moderate potentiometric selectivity coefficients of proposed electrode obtained by fixed interference method (FIM) and separate solution method (SSM), the proposed electrode successfully can be applied for the determination of Cu2+ ions content in some real samples.  相似文献

A uranyl cation selective electrode based on benzo-15-crown-5(B15C5) incorporated into a polyvinylchloride (PVC) membrane has been developed. The electrode was prepared by coating the surface of a graphite rod by a membrane containing dioctylphtalate (DOP) as plasticizer, B15C5 as an ionophore, carbon powder and polyvinylchloride (PVC) in tetrahydrofuran (THF). The best composition of the coated membrane (w/w%) was found to be: 4% ionophore, 20% plasticizer, 56% PVC and 20% carbon powder. The electrode exhibits a Nernstian slope (29.5 ± 2 mv) over the concentration range from 1.0 × 10? 4 to 1.0 × 10? 1 M. The detection limit of the electrode is 1.0 × 10? 4 M. The effects of the pH and the possible interfering cations and anions were investigated and the optimized conditions for electrode were evaluated. The response time of the electrode is about 15 s and it can be used for more than 6 weeks without observing any divergence in potentiometric response. The electrode was applied as indicator electrode in potentiometric titrations.  相似文献

A novel potentiometric urea biosensor has been fabricated with urease (Urs) immobilized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) embedded in silica matrix deposited on the surface of indium tin oxide (ITO) coated glass plate. The enzyme Urs was covalently linked with the exposed free –COOH groups of functionalized MWCNTs (F-MWCNTs), which are subsequently incorporated within the silica matrix by sol–gel method. The Urs/MWCNTs/SiO2/ITO composite modified electrode was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and UV–visible spectroscopy. The morphologies and electrochemical performance of the modified Urs/MWCNTs/SiO2/ITO electrode have been investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and potentiometric method, respectively. The synergistic effect of silica matrix, F-MWCNTs and biocompatibility of Urs/MWCNTs/SiO2 made the biosensor to have the excellent electro catalytic activity and high stability. The resulting biosensor exhibits a good response performance to urea detection with a wide linear range from 2.18 × 10? 5 to 1.07 × 10? 3 M urea. The biosensor shows a short response time of 10–25 s and a high sensitivity of 23 mV/decade/cm2.  相似文献

A newly synthesized Schiff base 3-aminoacetophenonesemicarbazone (AAS) has been used for the preparation of Ni2 + selective PVC membrane electrode. The proposed electrode exhibits a Nernstian response over the nickel concentration range of 1.0 × 10? 7 to 1.0 × 10? 2 mol L? 1 with a slope of 30.0 ± 0.3 mV/decade of concentration. The limit of detection as determined from the intersection linear segment of the calibration plot is 5.1 × 10? 8 mol L? 1. The electrode shows good selectivity towards nickel with respect to several alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. The response time of the electrode is very fast (≥ 10 s) and can be used for 17 weeks in the pH range of 2.0–9.8. The electrode can also be used in partially non-aqueous media having up to 20% (v/v) methanol, ethanol or acetone content with no significant change in the value of slope or working concentration range. To investigate the analytical applicability of the electrode, it was successfully applied as an indicator electrode in Ni2 + ion potentiometric titration with EDTA, and in direct determination of nickel(II) in real samples.  相似文献

The PVC membrane containing 2,3-diphenylquinoxaline-4′,4″-dioxytriethylene glycol (PQTEG) as a suitable ionophore, presents a linear dynamic range of 1.0 × 10? 6–1.0 × 10? 2 M with a Nernstian slope of 29.9 mV per decade and a detection limit of 6.7 × 10? 7 M. The response time is quick (smaller than 15 s), it can be used in the pH range of 4.1–8.9 and its duration is at least 55 days without noticing any considerable potential divergence. The proposed electrode has very good selectivity with respect to all common alkali, alkaline earth in the range of ? 3.28 to ? 4.00, and for transition metal ions in the range of ? 3.38 to ? 4.00. It was successfully applied as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of Sr(II) ions with EDTA.  相似文献

The carbon paste electrode modified by kaolin (KCPE) has been utilized for the determination of pesticides with high sensitivity based on their redox behavior. The experiment is performed on the use of cyclic and square wave voltammetry. Experimental conditions were optimized by varying the accumulation time, kaolin loading and measuring solution pH. Square wave voltammetric response showed a linear calibration curve in the range from 3.9 × 10? 9 to 9 × 10? 5 mol L? 1 with a detection limit of 2 × 10? 10 mol L? 1 at kaolin-modified carbon paste electrode. As a result, it was found that there was feasibility in the use of kaolin to improve the carbon paste electrode properties.  相似文献

In this research, we report a new Ho3 +-PVC membrane electrode based on N-(4,5-dimethyl-2-(picolinamido)phenyl)picolinamide (H2Me2bpb) as a suitable ion carrier. Poly vinylchloride (PVC)-based membrane composed of H2Me2bpb with oleic acid (OA) as anionic additives, and o-nitrophenyloctyl ether (NPOE) as plasticized solvent mediator. The sensor exhibits a Nernstian slope of 20.1 ± 0.2 mV decade? 1 over the concentration range of 1.0 × 10? 6 to 1.0 × 1? 2 mol L? 1, and a detection limit of 5.0 × 10? 7 mol L? 1 of Ho3 + ions. The potentiometric response of the sensor is independent of the solution pH in the range of 3.5–9.4. It has a very short response time, in the whole concentration range (< 10 s), and can be used for at least eight weeks. The proposed electrode shows a good selectivity towards Ho3 + ions over a wide variety of cations, including alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. To assess its analytical applicability the proposed Ho3 + sensor was successfully applied as an indicator electrode in the titration of Ho3 + ion solutions in certified reference materials, alloy samples and for the determination of the fluoride ion in two mouthwash preparations.  相似文献

A new sensitive voltammetric sensor for determination of sulfadiazine is described. The developed sensor is based on carbon paste electrode modified with sulfadiazine imprinted polymer (MIP) as a recognition element. For comparison, a non-imprinted polymer (NIP) modified carbon paste electrode was prepared. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) methods were performed to study the binding event and electrochemical behavior of sulfadiazine at the modified carbon paste electrodes. The determination of sulfadiazine after its extraction onto the electrode surface was carried out by DPV at 0.92 V vs. Ag/AgCl owing to oxidation of sulfadiazine. Under the optimized operational conditions, the peak current obtained at the MIP modified carbon paste electrode was proportional to the sulfadiazine concentration within the range of 2.0 × 10? 7–1.0 × 10? 4 mol L? 1 with a detection limit and sensitivity of 1.4 × 10? 7 mol L? 1 and 4.2 × 105 μA L mol? 1, respectively. The reproducibility of the developed sensor in terms of relative standard deviation was 2.6%. The sensor was successfully applied for determination of sulfadiazine in spiked cow milk and human serum samples with recovery values in the range of 96.7–100.9%.  相似文献

A biocompatible electrochemical sensor for selective detection of epinephrine (EP) in the presence of 1000-fold excess of ascorbic acid (AA) and uric acid (UA) was fabricated by modifying the carbon paste electrode (CPE) with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) using a casting method. The electro-catalytic activity of the modified electrode for the oxidation of EP was investigated. The current sensitivity of EP was enhanced to about five times upon modification. A very minimum amount of modifier was used for modification. The voltammetric response of EP was well resolved from the responses of AA and UA. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopic (EIS) studies reveal the least charge transfer resistance for the modified electrode. The AA peak that is completely resolved from that of EP at higher concentrations of AA and the inability of the sensor to give an electrochemical response for AA below a concentration of 3.0 × 10? 4 M makes it a unique electrochemical sensor for the detection of EP which is 100% free from the interference of AA. Two linear dynamic ranges of 1.0 × 10? 4–1.0 × 10? 5 and 1.0 × 10? 5–5.0 × 10? 7 M with a detection limit of 2.9 × 10? 8 M were observed for EP at modified electrode. The practical utility of this modified electrode was demonstrated by detecting EP in spiked human blood serum and EP injection. The modified electrode is highly reproducible and stable with anti fouling effects.  相似文献

A novel Dy(III) ion-selective PVC membrane sensor was made using a new synthesized organic compound, 3,4-diamino-N′-((pyridin-2-yl)methylene)benzohydrazide (L) as an excellent sensing element. The electrode showed a Nernstian slope of 19.8 ± 0.6 mV per decade in a wide concentration range of 1.0 × 10? 6–1.0 × 10? 2 mol L? 1, a detection limit of 5.5 × 10? 7 mol L? 1, a short conditioning time, a fast response time (< 10 s), and high selectivity towards Dy(III) ion in contrast to other cations. The proposed sensor was successfully used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of Dy(III) ions with EDTA. The membrane sensor was also applied to the F ion indirect determination of some mouth washing solutions and to the Dy3 + determination in binary mixtures.  相似文献

The preparation and electrochemical characterization of a carbon paste electrode modified with the N,N-ethylene-bis(salicyllideneiminato)oxovanadium (IV) complex ([VO(salen)]) as well as its application for ranitidine determination are described. The electrochemical behavior of the modified electrode for the electroreduction of ranitidine was investigated using cyclic voltammetry, and analytical curves were obtained for ranitidine using linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) under optimized conditions. The best voltammetric response was obtained for an electrode composition of 20% (m/m) [VO(salen)] in the paste, 0.10 mol L? 1 of KCl solution (pH 5.5 adjusted with HCl) as supporting electrolyte and scan rate of 25 mV s? 1. A sensitive linear voltammetric response for ranitidine was obtained in the concentration range from 9.9 × 10? 5 to 1.0 × 10? 3 mol L? 1, with a detection limit of 6.6 × 10? 5 mol L? 1 using linear sweep voltammetry. These results demonstrated the viability of this modified electrode as a sensor for determination, quality control and routine analysis of ranitidine in pharmaceutical formulations.  相似文献

Poly(vinyl chloride)-based membranes of two ligands 2,4-bis(2-acetoxybenzylamino)-6-phenyl-1,3,5-triazine (L1) and N2,N4-di(cyanoethyl)-2,4-bis(2-acetoxybenzylamino)-6-phenyl-1,3,5-triazine (L2) were fabricated and explored as Mn2 + ion selective electrodes. The performance of the polymeric membranes electrodes of ionophores with different plasticizers (dibutylphthalate, benzoic acid, o-nitrophenyloctyl ether, 1-chloronapthalene and tri-n-butylphosphate) and anion excluders (sodium tetraphenylborate and potassium tetrakis p-(chloro phenyl)borate) was looked in to and the better results were obtained with the membrane having composition L2: NaTPB: DBP: PVC as 6: 3: 56: 35 (w/w; mg). The coated graphite electrode (CGE) with same composition was also fabricated and investigated as Mn2 + selective electrode. It was found that CGE showed better response characteristics than PME. The potentiometric response of CGE was independent of pH in the range 3.0–9.0 exhibiting the Nernstian slope 29.5 ± 0.3 mV decade? 1 of activity and working concentration range 4.1 × 10? 7–1.0 × 10? 1 mol L? 1 with a limit of detection 6.7 × 10? 8 mol L? 1. The electrode showed a fast response time of 12 s with a shelf life of 105 days. The proposed CGE could be successfully used for the determination of Mn2 + ions in different water, soil, vegetables and medicinal plants also used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration with EDTA.  相似文献

A potentiometric indomethacin-selective sensor based on Rhodamine B indomethacinate ion-pair (IP) as a membrane carrier is reported. Influences of the membrane composition, pH, and possible interfering ions were investigated on the response properties of the electrode. The sensor exhibits significantly enhanced response toward indomethacinate ions over the concentration range 1 × 10? 4 mol L? 1 to 5 × 10? 2 mol L? 1 with a lower detection limit (LDL) of 3 × 10? 5 mol L? 1 and a slope of ? 60 mV decade? 1. Fast and stable response, good reproducibility, long-term stability, applicability over a pH range of 6–10 is demonstrated. The proposed electrode shows good discrimination of indomethacin from several inorganic and organic ions. The proposed sensor has been applied for the direct potentiometric determination of indomethacin in pharmaceutical preparations.  相似文献

A new polymeric membrane electrode (PME) and a coated platinum disk electrode (CPtE) based on Schiff base complex of Mo(VI) as a suitable carrier for I? ion were described. The influence of membrane composition, pH and possible interfering anions were investigated on the response properties of the electrodes. The electrodes exhibited a Nernstian slope of 63.0 ± 0.5 (CPtE) and 60.3 ± 0.4 (PME) mV decade? 1 in I? ion over a wide concentration range from 7.9 × 10? 7 to 1.0 × 10? 1 M for CPtE and 9.1 × 10? 6 to 1.0 × 10? 1 M I? for PME. The potentiometric response of the electrodes was independent of the pH of the test solution in the pH range 2.0–8.5 with a fast response time (< 10 s). The process of transfer of iodide across the membrane interface was investigated by use of the AC impedance technique. The proposed sensors were successfully applied to direct determination of iodide in samples containing interfering anions, waste water and as indicator electrodes in precipitation titrations.  相似文献

A novel carbon paste ion selective electrode for determination of trace amount of lead was prepared. Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and nanosilica were used for improvement of a lead carbon paste sensor response. MWCNTs have a good conductivity which helps the transduction of the signal in carbon paste electrode. The electrode composition of 20 wt% paraffin oil, 57% graphite powder, 15% ionophore (thiram), 5% MWCNTs, and 3% nanosilica showed the stable potential response to Pb2+ ions with the Nernstian slope of 29.8 (±0.2) mV decade?1 over a wide linear concentration range of 10?7–10?2 mol L?1. The electrode has fast response time, and long term stability (more than 2 months). The proposed electrode was used to determine the concentration of lead ions in waste water and black tea samples.  相似文献

A new ion-selective electrode for Sm3 + ion is described based on the incorporation of N,N′,N″-tris(4-pyridyl)trimesic amide (TPTA) in a poly(vinylchloride) (PVC) matrix. The membrane sensor comprises nitrobenzene (NB) as a plasticizer, and oleic acid (OA) as an anionic additive. The sensor with the optimized composition shows a Nernstian potential response of 19.8 ± 0.5 mV decade? 1 over a wide concentration range of 1.0 × 10? 2 and 1 × 10? 6 mol L? 1, with a lower detection limit of 4.7 × 10? 7 mol L? 1 and satisfactor applicable pH range of 3.6–9.2. Having a short response time of less than 10 s and a very good selectivity towards the Sm3 + over a wide variety of interfering cations (e.g. alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions) the sensor seemed to be a promising analytical tool for determination of the Sm3 +. Hence, it was used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of samarium ion with EDTA. It was also applied to the direct samarium recovery in binary mixtures.  相似文献

The construction, performance characteristics, and application of a novel iron(III) membrane sensor based on a new bis-benzilthiocarbohydrazide (BBTC) are reported in this paper. The sensor is prepared by incorporating of BBTC, nitrobenzene (NB), and sodium tetraphenyl borate (NaTPB) into a plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) membrane. The electrode reveals a Nernstian behavior over a wide iron ion concentration range (1.0 × 10? 2–1.0 × 10? 7 mol L? 1), and relatively low detection limit (8.6 × 10? 8 mol L? 1). The potentiometric response is independent on the pH of the solution in the range of 1.6–4.3. The electrode shows a very short response time (< 10 s). The proposed electrode can be used for at least nine weeks without any considerable divergence in potentials. It exhibits very good selectivity relative to a wide variety of alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. In fact, the selectivity of the proposed sensor shows great improvements compared to the previously reported electrodes for the iron ion. Also, the sensors accuracy was investigated in two ways: (i) with the potentiometric titration of a Fe(III) solution with EDTA and (ii) with the Fe(III) monitoring in river and wastewater samples.  相似文献

Solution study showed N,N′-bis(5-nitrosalicylidene)-2-aminobenzylamin (L) trends toward Tb3+ ion. Then, it was used as a suitable ionophore in construction of terbium ion selective electrode. The electrode with composition of 30% PVC, 65% solvent mediator (NB), 3% ionophore (L) and 2% anionic additive (NaTPB) shows the best potentiometric response characteristics. It displays a Nernstian behavior (20.1 mV decade?1) over the concentration range 1.0 × 10? 6 to 1.0 × 10? 2 mol L?1. The detection limit of the electrode is 6.3 × 10? 7 mol L?1. It has a very short response time (~ 10 s) and a useful working pH range of 2.6–9.4 for at least 2 months. The proposed membrane sensor shows excellent discriminating ability towards Tb3+ ions with regard to several alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. To investigate the analytical applicability of the sensor, it was successfully applied to the determination of terbium in certified reference material.  相似文献

In the present paper, the use of a nanostructured electrochemical sensor was described for simultaneous determination of phenylhydrazine (PhH) and hydrazine (HZ). This electrochemical sensor was prepared by a simple and rapid method by modification of carbon paste electrode with a derivative of hydroquinone and TiO2 nanoparticles. The modified electrode showed an excellent character for electrocatalytic oxidation of PhH. Using differential pulse voltammetry, a highly selective and simultaneous determination of PhH and HZ has been explored at the modified electrode. Differential pulse voltammetry peak currents of PhH and HZ increased linearly with their concentration at the ranges of 2.0 × 10? 6 to 1.0 × 10? 3 M and 7.5 × 10? 5–1.0 × 10? 3 M, respectively and the detection limits for PhH and HZ were 7.5 × 10? 7 M and 9.0 × 10? 6 M, respectively.  相似文献
