This letter presents an iterative carrier frequency offset (CFO) estimator based on the minimum variance distortionless response criterion for interleaved orthogonal frequency division multiple access uplink systems, without using specific training sequences. The proposed estimator iteratively searches for the correct CFO vector by minimizing the objective function using a first-order Taylor series approximation of the CFO vector with the one initially given. However, the proposed estimator is not only can estimate CFO, but also has less computational load. Several computer simulation results are provided for illustrating the effectiveness of the blind estimate approach.  相似文献

In this paper, the optimal carrier frequency offset (CFO) and channel estimator for an orthogonal frequency-division multiple-access (OFDMA) uplink based on a joint maximum-likelihood (ML) criterion is derived. Direct implementation of the resultant estimation scheme is challenging due to the need for a multidimensional exhaustive search in multi-CFO estimation. To solve this problem, an optimization theorem is exploited, and a computationally efficient method using an importance sampling technique is proposed. Without the need to provide an initial estimate, the proposed estimator guarantees the generation of the global optimal solution. Simulation results clearly verify the effectiveness of the proposed estimation scheme.   相似文献

In this paper, we study carrier frequency offset (CFO) and symbol timing offset (STO) estimation in the uplink of multiuser offset QAM filter bank multicarrier (FBMC) communication systems. A low-complexity frequency-domain CFO estimator using periodical training sequence is proposed. Also a good estimate of STO is obtained by maximizing the energy of subcarriers subject to training sequence at the output of analysis filter bank. Furthermore we derive the theoretical MSE for the proposed CFO estimator. Computer simulations show that the derived MSE matches the simulated MSE closely. Compared with state-of-the-art time domain estimator, the proposed estimator achieves better performance with a lower computational complexity.  相似文献

This letter proposes a blind carrier frequency offset (CFO) estimator for orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) systems based on the frequency analysis of the received signal, and derives a closed-form CFO estimate. Since only one OFDM symbol is utilized instead of multi-symbol averaging, the proposed method is effective even when the CFO is time varying. Carrier frequency offset (CFO) estimation is a critical problem in orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. This letter proposes a blind CFO estimator based on smoothing the signal power spectrum. A closed-form CFO estimate is also presented, which greatly reduces the computational complexity of the proposed method. Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems are known to be sensitive to carrier frequency offset (CFO). This paper is concerned with the CFO estimation for multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems employing OFDM waveforms. We present two approaches to derive maximum likelihood (ML) pilot-assisted frequency estimators that use either two or multiple identical training symbols. It is shown that the resulting ML frequency estimators are similar to maximum ratio combining versions of Moose estimator and Yu–Su solution, respectively. Numerical examples demonstrate that the proposed frequency estimators are robust against spatial Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) variation and they yield performance superior to that of the corresponding single-antenna system.  相似文献

In this paper, the problem of joint channel and carrier frequency offset (CFO) estimation is studied in the context of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications based on orthogonal space-time-block codes (OSTBCs). A new blind approach is proposed to jointly estimate the channel matrix and the CFO parameters using a relaxed maximum likelihood (ML) estimator that, for the sake of simplicity, ignores the finite alphabet constraint. Although the proposed technique can be applied to the majority of OSTBCs, there are, however, a few codes that suffer from an intrinsic ambiguity in the joint channel, CFO, and symbol estimates. For such specific OSTBCs, a semiblind modification of the proposed approach is developed that resolves the aforementioned estimation ambiguity. Our simulation results demonstrate that although the finite alphabet constraint is relaxed, the performance of the proposed techniques approaches that of the informed (fully frequency-synchronized and coherent) receiver, provided that a sufficient number of data blocks is available for each channel realization.  相似文献

This paper proposes a carrier frequency offset (CFO) estimation scheme for OFDM systems over fast fading channels. In the proposed scheme, exploiting the multiple preambles with the identical values, we estimate the CFO over fast fading channels. In particular, we improve the performance of the CFO estimator by applying the overlapped windows to preambles. This paper deals with blind residual carrier frequency offset (CFO) and timing offset (TO) estimation based on minimum output variance (MOV) criterion without devoting training sequence and pilot symbol for uplink multicarrier-code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) systems. It has been shown that the performance of MOV estimator is degraded because the effect of noise and wideband spread-spectrum signals. In conjunction with spreading code-aided and subspace projection techniques, we present an improved code-aided MOV (ICMOV) estimator to achieve the high accuracy estimate for the noisy case. Due to more accuracy residual CFO estimate can provide more accuracy residual TO estimate, this paper also present a decision-directed ICMOV (DD-ICMOV) approach to improve the estimation performance of ICMOV estimator. In this paper, an extended Hinfin filter-based carrier frequency offset (CFO) estimator is proposed for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. The design criterion of the proposed estimator is to minimize the effect of worst-case disturbances (noise and model error) on the CFO estimation errors. This data-aided CFO estimator does not require any statistical knowledge of the disturbances. Moreover, its computational complexity is similar to that of the extended Kalman filter (EKF) method. Simulation results show that the proposed method can combat ICI effectively and obtain better bit error rate (BER) performance in the unknown noise for OFDM systems.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the problem of carrier frequency-offset (CFO) synchronization and channel estimation in multiple-input multiple-output orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing systems operating over unknown frequency-selective fading channels. We first propose a novel joint CFO and channel estimator, assuming time-domain training blocks are available. The proposed joint estimator consists of two recursive least-square (RLS) algorithms which iterate their estimated CFO and CIR values. We then derive a more precise pilot-aided RLS algorithm to estimate the residual frequency synchronization errors or track small CFO changes. With this, the accuracy of channel estimation is also enhanced. The analysis and simulation results show that, the proposed estimation and tracking scheme which is fully compatible with the existing standards is able to attain fast convergence, high stability, and ideal performances as compared with relevant Cramer–Rao bounds in all ranges of signal-to-noise ratio. Moreover, it can work well for wide tracking range up to ±0.5 of the subcarrier spacing.  相似文献

OFDM系统对载波频偏(CFO)非常敏感,CFO破坏了子载波正交性从而引起载波间干扰(ICI)导致系统性能下降.本文分析了CFO对解调数据二阶统计特性的影响,提出了一种适用于频率选择性衰落信道下的非数据辅助的频偏估计方法,利用解调数据二阶统计量矩阵的对角能量提取CFO信息,可实现CFO的精确估计.该方法不需要发送导频数据和信道响应先验知识,因而提高了系统传输效率.文中同时给出了估计的闭环求解方法,大大简化了实现复杂度.最后对算法在多径信道环境下进行了仿真,结果表明本文提出的估计方法在低SNR时仍具有较好的估计性能.  相似文献

针对载波频偏引起的子载波间干扰问题,提出一种基于独立分量分析的OFDM载波频率同步算法。本算法直接实现载波频率同步,可以避免基于导频机制的频偏估计和由频偏估计误差带来的频谱效率降低与性能损失。首先建立含频偏OFDM独立分量分析模型,然后从最大似然原则得到分离的代价函数,结合自然梯度优化得到OFDM源信号实现载波频率同步。理论分析表明,提出的算法不仅具有基于最大似然的频偏补偿性能而且提高了系统的输出信噪比。最后,仿真分析证明了算法的有效性。   相似文献

In this paper, a single-input single-output-/multipleinput multiple-output- (SISO-/MIMO-) OFDMA uplink baseband transceiver based on IEEE 802.16e-2005 is proposed. To compensate for the interference of carrier frequency offset (CFO), an inter-carrier interference-based (ICI-cancellationbased) CFO estimator in conjunction with channel estimation and MIMO detector is proposed. Moreover, a low complexity solution for implementation is also provided. Simulation results show that the mean-square-error (MSE) performance of the proposed CFO estimator can be reduced to about one tenth compared to other methods and the bit-error-rate (BER) performance of the proposed transceiver is quite close to that of an ideal system that doesn?t include CFO compensation.  相似文献

In this literature, we present a new method for estimating the coarse frequency offset in multi-band orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MB-OFDM) based ultra-wideband (UWB) communication systems. The proposed training based coarse frequency offset (CFO) estimator performs an averaging of initial estimate over the multiple bands of transmission during estimation process. The proposed multi-band averaging provides an improved estimation of approximately three times for band group 1 (BG1) compared to our earlier proposed scheme. To prove the efficiency of the proposed scheme, the Cramer Rao lower bound (CRLB) of the estimation error is calculated and compared with the simulation results. We illustrate the performance of MB-OFDM system in terms of bit-error rate (BER) with multi-band averaged frequency synchronization (MBAFS) and compare with earlier reported results for 100,000 noisy realizations in UWB channel model 2 (CM2).  相似文献
