In this paper, a solar combi-system which consists of solar collector and a CO2 heat pump is investigated experimentally and theoretically. Two experiments are primarily conducted to show the performance of this solar combi-system under different operation conditions. A system model is developed and validated in TRNSYS to analyze the influence of main components parameters. Subsequently, a multi-parameter optimization is carried out in GENOPT to obtain a final optimal result. The simulated results show that the optimized system can save 14.2% electricity and improve the solar fraction by 8%. The solar fraction of the optimized system can reach 71.1%. Finally, the optimized system performance is studied with the weather and load characteristics in Shanghai. Compared with the CO2 HP heating system alone, the solar assisted system can save 1790.8 kWh electricity on the basis of year round operation.  相似文献

In this paper, a transcritical carbon dioxide heat pump system driven by solar‐owered CO2 Rankine cycle is proposed for simultaneous heating and cooling applications. Based on the first and second laws of thermodynamics, a theoretical analysis on the performance characteristic is carried out for this solar‐powered heat pump cycle using CO2 as working fluid. Further, the effects of the governing parameters on the performance such as coefficient of performance (COP) and the system exergy destruction rate are investigated numerically. With the simulation results, it is found that, the cooling COP for the transcritical CO2 heat pump syatem is somewhat above 0.3 and the heating COP is above 0.9. It is also concluded that, the performance of the combined transcritical CO2 heat pump system can be significantly improved based on the optimized governing parameters, such as solar radiation, solar collector efficient area, the heat transfer area and the inlet water temperature of heat exchange components, and the CO2 flow rate of two sub‐cycles. Where, the cooling capacity, heating capacity, and exergy destruction rate are found to increase with solar radiation, but the COPs of combined system are decreased with it. Furthermore, in terms of improvement in COPs and reduction in system exergy destruction at the same time, it is more effective to employ a large heat transfer area of heat exchange components in the combined heat pump system. In this study, the performance of a solar heating system with a heat pump was investigated both experimentally and theoretically. The experimental results were obtained from November to April during the heating season. The experimentally obtained results are used to calculate the heat pump coefficient of performance (COP), seasonal heating performance, the fraction of annual load met by free energy, storage and collector efficiencies and total energy consumption of the systems during the heating season. The average seasonal heating performance values are 4.0 and 3.0 for series and parallel heat pump systems, respectively. A mathematical model was also developed for the analysis of the solar heating system. The model consists of dynamic and heat transfer relations concerning the fundamental components in the system such as solar collector, latent heat thermal energy storage tank, compressor, condenser, evaporator and meteorological data. Some model parameters of the system such as COP, theoretical collector numbers (Nc), collector efficiency, heating capacity, compressor power, and temperatures (T1, T2, T3, TT) in the storage tank were calculated by using the experimental results. It is concluded that the theoretical model agreed well with the experimental results.  相似文献

An experimental study is carried out to investigate the performance of a solar Rankine system using supercritical CO2 as a working fluid. The testing machine of the solar Rankine system consists of an evacuated solar collector, a pressure relief valve, heat exchangers and CO2 feed pump, etc. The solar energy powered system can provide electricity output as well as heat supply/refrigeration, etc. The system performance is evaluated based on daily, monthly and yearly experiment data. The results obtained show that heat collection efficiency for the CO2-based solar collector is measured at 65.0–70.0%. The power generation efficiency is found at 8.78–9.45%, which is higher than the value 8.20% of a solar cell. The result presents a potential future for the solar powered CO2 Rankine system to be used as distributed energy supply system for buildings or others.  相似文献

Thermal performance and economic feasibility of two types of central solar heating system with seasonal storage under four climatically different Turkey locations are investigated. The effects of storage volume and collector area on the thermal performance and cost are studied for three load sizes. The simulation model of the system consisting of flat plate solar collectors, a heat pump, under ground storage tank and heating load based on a finite element analysis and finite element code ANSYS™ is chosen as a convenient tool. In this study, the lowest solar fraction value for Trabzon (41°N) and the highest solar fraction value for Adana (37°N) are obtained. Based on the economic analysis, the payback period of system is found to be about 25–35 years for Turkey.  相似文献

In this paper, exergy analysis method is developed to assess a Rankine cycle system,by using supercritical CO2 as working fluid and powered by solar energy. The proposed system consists of evacuated solar collectors, throttling valve,high-temperature heat exchanger,low-temperature heat exchanger, and feed pump. The system is designed for utilize evacuated solar collectors to convert solar energy into mechanical energy and hence electricity. In order to investigate and estimate exergy performance of this system, the energy, entropy, exergy balances are developed for the components. The exergy destructions and exergy efficiency values of the system components are also determined. The results indicate that solar collector and high temperature heat exchanger which have low exergy efficiencies contribute the largest share to system irreversibility and should be the optimization design focus to improve system exergy effectiveness.Further, exergy analysis is a useful tool in this regard as it permits the performance of each process to be assessed and losses to be quantified.Exergy analysis results can be used in design, optimization, and improvement efforts.  相似文献

A hydrogen production method is proposed, which utilizes solar energy powered thermodynamic cycle using supercritical carbon dioxide (CO2) as working fluid for the combined production of hydrogen and thermal energy. The proposed system consists of evacuated solar collectors, power generating turbine, water electrolysis, heat recovery system, and feed pump. In the present study, an experimental prototype has been designed and constructed. The performance of the cycle is tested experimentally under different weather conditions. CO2 is efficiently converted into supercritical state in the collector, the CO2 temperature reaches about 190 °C in summer days, and even in winter days it can reach about 80 °C. Such a high-temperature realizes the combined production of electricity and thermal energy. Different from the electrochemical hydrogen production via solar battery-based water splitting on hand, which requires the use of solar batteries with high energy requirements, the generated electricity in the supercritical cycle can be directly used to produce hydrogen gas from water. The amount of hydrogen gas produced by using the electricity generated in the supercritical cycle is about 1035 g per day using an evacuated solar collector of 100.0 m2 for per family house in summer conditions, and it is about 568.0 g even in winter days. Additionally, the estimated heat recovery efficiency is about 0.62. Such a high efficiency is sufficient to illustrate the cycle performance.  相似文献

A solar energy powered Rankine cycle using supercritical CO2 for combined production of electricity and thermal energy is proposed. The proposed system consists of evacuated solar collectors, power generating turbine, high-temperature heat recovery system, low-temperature heat recovery system, and feed pump. The system utilizes evacuated solar collectors to convert CO2 into high-temperature supercritical state, used to drive a turbine and thereby produce mechanical energy and hence electricity. The system also recovers heat (high-temperature heat and low-temperature heat), which could be used for refrigeration, air conditioning, hot water supply, etc. in domestic or commercial buildings. An experimental prototype has been designed and constructed. The prototype system has been tested under typical summer conditions in Kyoto, Japan; It was found that CO2 is efficiently converted into high-temperature supercritical state, of while electricity and hot water can be generated. The experimental results show that the solar energy powered Rankine cycle using CO2 works stably in a trans-critical region. The estimated power generation efficiency is 0.25 and heat recovery efficiency is 0.65. This study shows the potential of the application of the solar-powered Rankine cycle using supercritical CO2.  相似文献

The optimization of a district solar heating system with an electric-driven heat pump and seasonal heat storage is discussed. The optimization process comprises thermal, economic and system control analyses. Thermal and economic optima have been derived for collector area and storage volume simultaneously. The effects of different collector types and building loads are also investigated. Summertime charging of the storage by off-peak electricity has been applied to avoid severe peaking of auxiliary in the winter and to reduce the yearly energy cost. The thermal co-storage of electric energy is emphasized with systems which fail to supply heat for the heat pump during the winter heating season.‡ It has been found that system cost-effectiveness is only slightly affected as storage volume is increased beyond the optimum size. Large variations in the optima for different system configurations were found. The minimum cost of heat supplied in an optimal 500-unit community with 90% solar fraction was estimated at 8.9 ¢ kWh−1.  相似文献

Solar thermal systems are an efficient utilization of solar energy for hot water and space heating at domestic level. A Solar Water Heater (SWH) incorporating an Evacuated Glass Tube Collector (EGTC) is simulated using TRNSYS software. Efficiency parameters are pointed, and a parametric optimization method is adopted to design the system with maximum conceivable efficiency. In the first part, the selection of refrigerant for heat transportation in SWH loop is presented. A set of 15 working fluids are chosen, and their chemical properties are computed using NIST standard software (REFPROP). The selected working fluids are tested in the system under study and plots for energy gain and temperature are plotted using TRNSYS. Results showed that ammonia (NH3) having specific heat 4.6kJ/kg-K and fluid thermal conductivity 2.12 kJ/hr-m supplies peak energy gain of 7500 kJ/h in winter and 8900 kJ/h in summer season along 120 °C temperature rise. On the other hand, R-123 having specific heat 0.65kJ/kg-K and fluid thermal conductivity 0.0293kJ/hr-m showed inferior performance during the simulation. A solar-hydrogen co-generation system is also designed and simulated under low solar insolation and warm climate regions to study annual hydrogen produced by the hybrid system. System comprises main components: a PV array, an electrolyzer, a fuel cell, a battery, a hydrogen storage unit and a controller in the complete loop. Results of Hydrogen cogeneration system provide 7.8% efficiency in the cold climate of Fargo North Dakota state due to lower solar insolation. While hot climate condition of Lahore weather provides efficiency of 11.8% which satisfy the statistics found in literature.  相似文献

Aquifers are underground porous formations containing water. Confined aquifers are the formations surrounded by two impermeable layers, called cap rocks and bed rocks. These aquifers are suitable for seasonal thermal energy storage. In the present study, a confined aquifer was considered to meet the cooling and heating energy needs of a residential complex located in Tehran, Iran. Three different alternatives were analyzed in this aquifer thermal energy storage (ATES), including: using ATES for cooling alone, for cooling and heating, as a heat pump, and for heating alone, employing flat plate solar energy collectors. A numerical simulation, based on the finite difference method, was carried out for velocity and temperature distributions as well as the heat transfer in the aquifer. The thermal energy recovery factor and the annual coefficient of performance of the system were determined under various schemes of operation, revealing that the combination of the ATES with the heat pump, to meet both cooling and heating needs of the complex, is the best. The study was repeated for different aquifer properties.  相似文献

An experimental solar assisted heat pump space heating system with a daily energy storage tank is designed and constructed, and its thermal performance is investigated. The heating system basically consists of flat plate solar collectors, a heat pump, a cylindrical storage tank, measuring units, and a heating room located in Gaziantep, Turkey (37.1°N). All measurements are automatically collected as a function of time by means of a measurement chain feeding to a data logger in combination with a PC. Hourly and daily variations of solar radiation, collector performance, coefficient of performance of the heat pump (COPHP), and that of the overall system (COPS) are calculated to evaluate the system performance. The effects of climatic conditions and certain operating parameters on the system performance parameters are investigated. COPHP is about 2.5 for a lower storage temperature at the end of a cloudy day and it is about 3.5 for a higher storage temperature at the end of a sunny day, and it fluctuates between these values in other times. Also, COPS turns out to be about 15–20% lower than COPHP. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This study deals with energy and exergy analysis of the experimental solar-assisted Rankine cycle working with an environmentally friendly working fluid transcritical CO2. The experimental system consists of evacuated solar collectors, a heat recovery system, condenser, a pump, and an expansion valve to simulate the realistic turbine operation. The system was designed for electricity production and the heat supply for various applications. The experiments were made funder typical winter and summer days to evaluate seasonal system performance in Kyoto, Japan. According to the obtained results, the turbine capacity was calculated as 0.118 kW and 0.177 kW for winter and summer seasons. From the exergetic point of view, solar collectors were found to be the major contributor to the total exergy destruction with 96.32% for summer and 93.58% for the winter season. Therefore, the efforts should be focused on the collectors. Thus, any attempt for improving the system performance should be focused on solar collectors first. Furthermore, the exergetic efficiency of the overall system was calculated as 7.63% for the winter season and 4.08% for the summer season. As a result, the utilization of CO2 in the energy conversion cycle can be sustainably developed and extended by providing a glimpse into the carbon-free clean energy future.  相似文献

This paper presents the modeling and optimization of a solar assisted heat pump using ice slurry. Solar collectors are used as the primary source of thermal energy, with two distinct loops allowing the collectors to operate in series with an ice tank, or a warm water tank. Thermal energy stored in the ice tank is transferred to a warm water distribution tank via a heat pump. First, a new mathematical model of an ice slurry storage tank is presented. Validation of the model with experimental data confirms its ability to predict the ice mass and tank fluid temperatures during the charging and discharging modes of operation. The developed ice tank model is combined with the TRNSYS energy simulation program to formulate a complete model of the proposed heat pump system. This computer model then serves as a base for a mathematical optimization with the objective to minimize the energy use for heating and DHW over a single heating season. Simulated results demonstrate the potential of the optimized system in reducing the heating operating energy use of a high performance home in Montreal, QC.  相似文献

This paper presents experimental studies on a solar-assisted ground coupled heat pump (SAGCHP) system for space heating. The system was installed at the Hebei Academy of Sciences in Shijiazhuang (lat. N38°03′, long. E114°26′), China. Solar collectors are in series connection with the borehole array through plate heat exchangers. Four operation modes of the system were investigated throughout the coldest period in winter (Dec 5th to Dec 27th). The heat pump performance, borehole temperature distributions and solar colleting characteristics of the SAGCHP system are analyzed and compared when the system worked in continuous or intermittent modes with or without solar-assisted heating. The SAGCHP system is proved to perform space heating with high energy efficiency and satisfactory solar fraction, which is a promising substitute for the conventional heating systems. It is also recommended to use the collected solar thermal energy as an alternative source for the heat pump instead of recharging boreholes for heat storage because of the enormous heat capacity of the earth.  相似文献

The ground-coupled heat pump (GCHP) system is a type of renewable energy technology providing space heating and cooling as well as domestic hot water. However, experimental studies on GCHP systems are still insufficient. This paper first presents an energy-operational optimisation device for a GCHP system involving insertion of a buffer tank between the heat pump unit and fan coil units and consumer supply using quantitative adjustment with a variable speed circulating pump. Then, the experimental measurements are used to test the performance of the GCHP system in different operating modes. The main performance parameters (energy efficiency and CO2 emissions) are obtained for one month of operation using both classical and optimised adjustment of the GCHP system, and a comparative analysis of these performances is performed. In addition, using TRNSYS (Transient Systems Simulation) software, two simulation models of thermal energy consumption in heating, cooling and domestic hot-water operation are developed. Finally, the simulations obtained using TRNSYS are analysed and compared to experimental data, resulting in good agreement and thus the simulation models are validated.  相似文献

The heating system of the bioclimatic building of the Greek National Centre for Renewable Energy Sources (CRES) comprises two heating plants: the first one includes an air source heat pump, Solar Air Collectors (SACs) and a heat distribution system (comprising a fan coil unit network); the second one is, mainly, a geothermal heat pump unit to cover the ground floor thermal needs. The SAC configuration as well as the fraction of the building heating load covered by the heating plant are assessed in two operation modes; the direct (hot air from the collectors is supplied directly to the heated space) and the indirect mode (warm air from the SAC or its mixture with ambient air is not supplied directly to the heated space but indirectly into the evaporator of the air source heat pump). The technique of the indirect mode of heating aims at maximizing the efficiency of the SAC, saving electrical power consumed by the compressor of the heat pump, and therefore, at optimizing the coefficient of performance (COP) of the heat pump due to the increased intake of ambient thermal energy by means of the SAC. Results are given for three research objectives: assessment of the heat pump efficiency whether in direct or indirect heating mode; Assessment of the overall heating plant efficiency on a daily or hourly basis; Assessment of the credibility of the suggested simulation model TSAGAIR by comparing its results with the TRNSYS ones.  相似文献

An analytical and computational model for a solar assisted heat pump heating system with an underground seasonal cylindrical storage tank is developed. The heating system consists of flat plate solar collectors, an underground cylindrical storage tank, a heat pump and a house to be heated during winter season. Analytical solution of transient field problem outside the storage tank is obtained by the application of complex finite Fourier transform and finite integral transform techniques. Three expressions for the heat pump, space heat requirement during the winter season and available solar energy are coupled with the solution of the transient temperature field problem. The analytical solution presented can be utilized to determine the annual variation of water temperature in the cylindrical store, transient earth temperature field surrounding the store and annual periodic performance of the heating system. A computer simulation program is developed to evaluate the annual periodic water and earth temperatures and system performance parameters based on the analytical solution. The main objective of the present study is twofold: (i) to analyze thermal loads of the geothermally and passively heated solar greenhouses; and (ii) to investigate wind energy utilization in greenhouse heating which is modeled as a hybrid solar assisted geothermal heat pump and a small wind turbine system which is separately installed in the Solar Energy Institute of Ege University, Izmir, Turkey. The study shows 3.13% of the total yearly electricity energy consumption of the modeled system (3568 kWh) or 12.53% of the total yearly electricity energy consumptions of secondary water pumping, brine pumping, and fan coil (892 kWh) can be met by using small wind turbine system (SWTS) theoretically. According to this result, modeled passive solar pre heating technique and combined with geothermal heat pump system (GHPS) and SWTS can be economically preferable to the conventional space heating/cooling systems used in agricultural and residential building heating applications if these buildings are installed in a region, which has a good wind resource.  相似文献
