Simulation von Spannungsschwankungen durch Windparks

Growing awareness for the relevance of renewable national energy sources stimulated a trend towards application of wind power plants for production of electricity in Austria the last years. Facing the standard development of areas with economic wind energy potential by 20 kV voltage level, grid companies as well as wind park owners are confronted with power quality questions as a result of increasing wind park power output. Using numerical simulation all interdependencies between the electrical grid and wind parks in consideration of characteristics of single wind power plants as well as the electrical grid can be studied.

Damping in the low frequency range of vibrations of tall buildings and wide-span bridges requires a concentration of energy for its efficient dissipation. The tuned mechanical damper (TMD) in its classical design is a spring-mass-dashpot system and requires high investments and maintenance fees. In all respects, the tuned liquid column damper (TLCD) is superior, and it is analyzed and tuned using a recently established geometrical analogy to the TMD. Choosing the right gas pressure in chambers above the liquid extends the frequency range of application to about 5 Hertz.

An automated enterprise communication enables enterprise spanning integration of costumers, suppliers, logistics service provider and other enterprises by exchanging data and providing services. This communication is now, by the standardization of web services, economical and reachable. After an explanation of web services as the technological enabler two examples of use of enterprise communication are presented. The first is enterprise spanning product configuration. The second considers virtual enterprises. A critical view of questions that are still open as well as an outlook close this article.
