Building with lightweight steel

The potential of lightweight steel in industrialised building has not been fully exploited, the author suggests. He describes a pilot housing scheme, for which he is project architect, at Givat-Olga, Israel, where the French LDB system has been adapted. The author is an instructor in architecture and town planning at the Technion, Israel.     

Eolithic Examinations

There is much to be said for and against the multiple-choice-answer type of examination, and most of it has been said many times. On one thing, however, both sides to the dispute are agreed: that it demands as much knowledge and skill from the examiner as any other type of examination does. If the examiner's knowledge is inadequate, or his information out of date, the examinee who knows more than he does will often be penalized; if the questions are poorly thought out or ambiguously worded, chance will play too large a part. Mr. Cook shows that the NCARB examination in History and Theory is vulnerable to criticism on these counts. He makes the plea that NCARB should employ the known and tried methods of evaluating the questions and thus ensuring the validity of the results.

火电厂厂房整体加固的工程实践

通过对我国首台自行设计、制造的30万kW机组电厂厂房整体改造加固的工程实践,证明采用新技术是解决工程疑难问题,创造良好经济效益的有效手段,为今后类似工程提供借鉴。     

苏北地区既有公共建筑围护结构节能改造研究

以某大院工程节能改造为研究对象,通过对外墙外保温体系和外墙内保温体系的研究分析,提出苏北地区既有公共建筑节能改造适宜选用外墙外保温体系;同时分别对屋面改造、外窗、遮阳改造、透明幕墙改造等进行分析研究,提出了适合本地区气候条件的围护结构节能改造的技术措施,为节能改造工程设计和施工提供了参考。     

电阻率测深的数值差分法在工程上的应用

通过对电阻率测深数据作数值差分处理 ,使区域场受到压制而局部场得到突出 ,并且多个相互叠加的异常也得到分离 ,有利于解释推断。运用数值差分法在云浮某工地的电测深勘探中取得了良好的效果 ,证明数值差分法对资料处理、提高资料的信噪比有一定的参考价值。

Implementing the replication strategy in uncertain and complex investment projects

Replication has typically been used as a strategy in chain businesses such as McDonald's where the technology involved is rather simple but it has also been used for very complex technologies where strict quality conditions apply. This paper examines the use of replication when the object of the replication is relatively complex. — i.e. it is neither simple nor very complex. Using a qualitative, embedded single-case study we examine a strategic R&D and capital investment programme aimed at providing a small oil company with first mover advantage in the emerging market for biodiesel. The paper builds on concepts of project capability building, learning and replication and extends previous work which focused on project supplier organisations seeking to deliver similar projects to a range of clients on a repeatable basis by focusing on the efforts of a single client organisation attempting to deliver a series of similar investment projects.

冻结法是有效穿越不稳定的厚表土层或软岩层的特殊施工方法。我国是世界上用冻结法施工穿过表土层最厚的国家之一,已成为世界上应用冻结法施工最多的国家。但在看到我国在冻结法施工取得进展的同时,也应该看到我国在冻结法设计的理论研究、施工方面依然存在许多亟待解决的问题。作者对国内煤矿立井冻结法施工设计理论研究现状进行了总结与分析,并对煤矿立井冻结设计理论研究进行了展望分析。

以河南新密恒业有限公司和成煤矿立井工程为例,探讨了立井穿过富含水采空区施工技术——工作面超前注浆方式,具体阐述了该技术施工工艺,并介绍了井壁监测系统,通过实践取得了较好的效果,具有一定的推广价值。

本文首先结合工程地质条件分析研究了某矿山井架倾斜的原因 ,结合现场实际施工条件 ,介绍了采用桩径小、承载力高、施工简便、质量可靠的壁后注浆式微型钢管混凝土桩成功控制基础沉降的方法及施工工艺 ,该法可为类似工程提供借鉴经验。     

CFG桩复合地基设计有关问题的探讨

本文结合北京地区一 32层高层建筑采用CFG桩复合地基处理的工程实例 ,阐述了在CFG桩复合地基设计时遵循国家有关规范时应注意的原则 ,对地基处理存在相邻建筑物时的深度修正问题进行了探讨 ,并介绍了该工程的地基处理效果。
