Fast Reactor Technology Development in China Status and Prospects

China has decided to speedup the nuclear power development. It is programmed that the nuclear power capacity will reach 40 GWe in 2020 and envisaged 60 GWe and 240 GWe in 2030 and 2050 respectively. The basic strategy of PWRFBR matched development with Fast reactor metal fuel closed cycle for a sustainable and quick increasing nuclear energy supply is adopted. Another strategy also decided is that the partitioning and transmutation of MA will be realized using fast burner and ADS.The fast reactor engineering development will be divided into three steps: China Experimental Fast Reactor (CEFR 65 MWt/20 MWe), China Prototype/Demonstration Fast Reactor (CPFR/CDFR ≥ 1 500 MWt/600 MWe) and China Demonstration Fast Breeder Reactor (CDFBR 1 000～1 500 MWe). The CEFR is under installation and preoperation testing with it’s first criticality planned in 2009. The design study of CPFR is just started in 2006. Recently a discussion for the second step is under way to faster the fast reactor development by a larger than 600 MWe CPFR and as a role of CDFR.     

Project Construction and Important Technical Innovation for Qinshan Phase Ⅲ (PHWR) Nuclear Power Plant

Qinshan Phase Ⅲ (PHWR) Nuclear Power Plant, the first commercial heavy water reactor nuclear power plant in China, was the biggest trade project performed between the governments of China and Canada. As the owner, the Third Qinshan Nuclear Power Company (TQNPC) persisted in independent innovation management during the project construction, commissioning and selfdependent operation, efficiently realizing the three controls of the project, i.e. quality control, schedule control and investment control, and persisted in technical improvement on the basis of digestion and absorption of CANDU6 technology to improve the unit safety and reliability. The project construction practice has helped China’s nuclear power project management to becomeprogrammed, computerized, standardized and internationalized management from the existing basis. After completion of the project, with unit safe and steady operation as the prerequisite, TQNPC performed several technical modifications and innovations to continuously improve the unit performance. In the area of staff development, TQNPC paid much attention to cultivation of corporate culture, strengthed staff training and built up a good circulating mechanism with staff training and project construction promoting each other. Further to “Zero Breakthrough” and a new step forward of locolization successfully realized in Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant and Nuclear Power Qinshan Joint Venture Company, the improvement and developemnt of nuclear power project management level in Qinshan Phase Ⅲ (PHWR) Nuclear Power Plant provided reference for promotion of nuclear power development in China and standardized management of introducing large imported project.

Construction of Fiber Standardization Demonstration Area to Be Started

The China Fiber Inspection Bureau has announced that in 2007 it will reinforce the implementation of science, technologies, and standardization, and begin a project of constructing a fiber standardization demonstration area. Currently, fiber inspection in China has three major weak points. The first is a lack of smooth channels for exchange and communication with the International Organization for Standardization.

Classification of Meteorological Drought

Background The national standard of the Classification of Meteorological Drought (GB/T 20481-2006) was developed by the National Climate Center in cooperation with Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences,National Meteorological Centre and Department of Forecasting and Disaster Mitigation under the China Meteorological Administration (CMA),and was formally released and implemented in November 2006.In 2008,this Standard won the second prize of the China Standard Innovation and Contribution Awards issued by SAC.Developed through independent innovation,it is the first national standard published to monitor meteorological drought disaster and the first standard in China and around the world specifying the classification of drought.Since its release in 2006,the national standard of Classification of Meteorological Drought has been used by CMA as the operational index to monitor and drought assess,and gradually used by provincial meteorological sureaus,and applied to the drought early warning release standard in the Methods of Release and Propagation of Meteorological Disaster Early Warning Signal.     

MDP PUMPING THEORTY OF VARIED RECTANGLE CHANNEL IN TWO-DIMENSIONAL SPACE

Research about the pumping mechanism of molecular drag pump (MDP) has been made in this paper. After considering the effects of return flow and leakage of gas in MDP to the pump's performance, and calculating the speed distribution of gas in the rectangle channel by finite difference methods, we pot forward the MDP's pumping theory, extend the theory of MDP to two-dimensional space at first time, and present its numerical evaluation method.

Effect of Negatively Charged Ions on the Formation of Microarc Oxidation Coating on 2024 Aluminium Alloy

The present study deals with the effect of negatively charged ions on the ceramic coating formation on 2024 aluminium alloy during microarc oxidation (MAO) process. On the basis of the experimental results, two steps (the formation of an incipient film without arc presence and the growth of a ceramic coating with arc discharge) of MAO process have been observed. For comparison, four different negatively charged ions studied. It is proved that negatively charged ions strongly participated in the formation of an incipient film with high impedance value at the first step. The growth of ceramic coating depends on the combination between Al of the substrate and O from the electrolyte, and the negatively charged ions are little consumed. As an anodic oxide coating is prepared on the sample surface instead of the incipient film, the first step occurs easily and the growth of ceramic coating is accelerated. Furthermore, the mechanism of negatively charged ions in the formation of the MAO coating has been proposed.     

First IEC standard of DC bias suppression devices to be issued

正IEC TS 60076-23,the first IEC standard on DC bias suppression devices approved by IEC/TC 14 in November 2017,is expected to be published and put into force in 2018,overcoming the lack of such IEC standards in the field.The Shanghai branch of SGCC has carried out studies and researches on DC bias effect for more than 10 years,and it has led the standard development based on its RD and the application of DC bias suppression devices in China.     

The principle of minimization of the equivalent load for design of launching vertical shiplift

Launching vertical shiplift is a type of shiplifts which have the advantages in characteristics of dynamics and statics,safety and simplicity in operation. But their applications are limited as the scales of mechanical equipments are too large. This paper puts forward the principle of minimization of the equivalent load for the general layout design of launching vertical shiplifts,based on the analysis of the load probability of the main hoists and their key mechanical equipments. The principle aims at determining the optimal weight of counterweight so that the equivalent loads of the main hoists of shiplifts are minimized,and larger ships are permitted to pass through. The theory and method presented in this paper have been applied in the design of the first step and third step shiplifts of the Goupitan Hydro Power Station. This has resulted in the breakthrough of the design and manufacture of launching vertical shiplifts so that the ships with tonnage of 500 t can pass through hydro dams for this type of shiplifts,comparing with the largest launching shiplift in Yantan Hydro Power Station with the 250 t shiplift.     

Congratulation to China Standardization Press

The journal China Standardization in Chinese version, the first standardization magazine in China, were firstly published in 1958 by the China Association for Standardization (CAS).Sanctioned by the proper state authorities in September 2010,both the Chinese and English versions of the journal China Standardization merged with three other journals founded previously by the China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS), Standard Science, Standard Living, and Terminology Standardization and Information Technology.The newly established China Standardization Press is cosponsored by CNIS and CAS.The new press has started to function since then and will publish all five journals with new looks in coming months.This is certainly a milestone that is worth celebration.     

The Program Research on Security Programs Before Flight Based on Single Code Network Plan

At the same time ,the airline companies buy more and more civil aircrafts.This phenomenon will lead to a big flying density ,which will make airport management become more complex.This paper first introduces the characteristic of security programs before flight and the single code network plan, and then put the security programs before flight into the single code network plan to find out the key route and calculate the guarantee period. Finally, we analyse the programs according to the guarantee period and critical route.It not only provides a support for administrator, but also we present a reasonable methods to reduce the guarantee period.
