A bandpass filter (BPF) design using a dual-mode microstrip triangular loop resonator is presented for the first time. The circuit produces frequency responses with one real finite frequency transmission zero and one imaginary finite frequency zero on either side of the passband. Depending on the perturbation arrangement, the nature of the coupling between degenerate modes causes the zeros to exchange their axis locations from real to imaginary and from imaginary to real while keeping their magnitude. This behavior results in frequency responses that are suitable for applications with asymmetrical requirements. Results show 8% bandwidth filters with insertion loss ranging from 0.82 dB to 1.4dB at 10 GHz. Advantages in size reduction and design flexibility are demonstrated when the triangular loop is compared to other dual-mode resonators.  相似文献

Free-standing all-polymer microring resonator optical filters as prototypical elements in flexible integrated lightwave circuits are demonstrated. The fabrication and measurement methods are discussed. The measured spectrum shows good agreement with theoretical expectations. The crucial 'critical' coupling condition is achieved, resulting in a measurement limited -27 dB extinction of the filter output on resonances  相似文献

Two-stage stepped-impedance resonator (SIR) filters are designed to have a wide upper stopband. Two transmission zeros are also created near the passband to form a quasi-elliptic response. For a 20-dB rejection level, with properly designed SIR geometry and tapped-line structure, the leading three spurious resonances of the SIR are suppressed by transmission zeros and respective unmatched singly loaded Q (Qsi) values. Measured results illustrate that stopbands up to 8.4 and 5.3 times the design frequency can be achieved for rejection levels of 20 and 30dB, respectively  相似文献

This paper presents coplanar stripline (CPS) resonators and their practical implementations to filters. Five types of CPS resonator are built using open and short-ended strips. Lumped-element equivalent circuits are presented for each resonator. Their performances are investigated and compared in terms of Q factor or bandwidth. Two types of bandpass filter are developed with the resonators. The bandpass filters have low-passband insertion losses and wide-stopband suppression bandwidths. Lumped-element equivalent circuits are presented for the bandpass filters. A wide-band CPS-to-microstrip transition is developed for the measurements. The back-to-back transition has an insertion loss of less than 3 dB and a return loss of better than 10 dB for the frequency range from 1.3 to 13.3 GHz (1:10.2)  相似文献

In this paper, a novel bandpass filter is presented, designed, and implemented by using a triple mode semi-hexagonal Half-Mode Substrate Integrated Waveguide (HMSIW) cavity, which has the advantages of compact size, low insertion loss, and high selectivity in upper and lower passband. To realize a triple mode filter, the first resonant mode is shifted to near the next two modes using a via hole perturbation. Two microstrip open stubs connected to open edge of HMSIW resonator are introduced to generate two transmission zeros in the lower passband. The position of transmission zeros could be controlled by adjusting the coupling gap between the microstrip open stub resonators. By etching an E-shape slot on the top plate of HMSIW resonator, two other transmission zeros are produced in the upper passband. A wide-band planar six-pole bandpass filter, which has the advantages of wide bandwidth and small size, is also proposed and fabricated by cascading two triple mode resonators. Measured results indicate that 29% and 47% fractional bandwidth, as well as approximately 1 dB and 1.1 dB insertion loss, are achieved for the proposed filters. Measured results of all those filters agree well with the simulated results.  相似文献

首先介绍了基片集成波导(SIW)这一新技术,并用表面电流理论解释了电磁波在SIW中的传输模式。同时,通过使用凹型过渡和接地共面波导过渡两种转换方式,解决了基片集成波导与微带线的过渡问题,从而解决了滤波器和有源微波电路的集成问题。文章用这两种过渡方式,分别设计了中心频率在5.63GHz和5.45GHz的双模带通滤波器。实验表明:这两种滤波器在通带内的反射损耗S11均优于-21dB,-3dB带宽都在50MHz以上。  相似文献

Continuous-time bandpass (BP) sigma-delta modulators (SigmaDeltaMs) employing surface acoustic wave (SAW) resonators as loop filters are presented. Compared with the loop filters realized with Gm-C and LC resonators, the SAW resonator has the advantage of high-Q factor, wide resonant frequency range and accurate resonant frequency without the need for automatic tuning. With the proposed anti-resonance cancellation and loop filter phase compensation techniques, a second- and a fourth-order BP SigmaDeltaMs are demonstrated in a 0.35-mum CMOS technology. Both modulators are tested with 47.3-MHz off-chip SAW resonators. The second-order modulator attains a dynamic range of 57 dB and peak signal-to-noise distortion ratio (SNDR) of 54 dB and the fourth-order one achieves a dynamic range of 69 dB and peak SNDR of 66 dB, both in a 200-kHz signal bandwidth. The fourth-order modulator is also measured in a 3.84-MHz signal bandwidth and achieves a dynamic range of 52.5 dB and peak SNDR of 50 dB, an effective 8-bit resolution  相似文献

The feasibility of two methods for determining the worst-case insertion loss of power-line interference filters is demonstrated. The first method makes use of injection and detection probes (transformers) which introduce an extremely small impedance (L ?50 nH, R ? 3 m?) into the test circuit. The second method does not use injection and detection probes, thus eliminating their problems. Both methods maintain the high Q of the test circuit and permit interfacial resonances to occur between the power-line and filter interface impedances. A conventional filter and a lossy filter were measured by both methods. Large resonances, including a negative insertion loss at 150 kHz, were measured in the stopband of the conventional filter. No resonances were detected in the stopband of the lossy filter. Measurements with the two test methods differed by only a few dB.  相似文献

A synthesis method to design a defected ground structures (DGS)-based Bessel low-pass filter (LPF) using a triangular and an open-square (OS)-type DGS is reported. For the five-pole Bessel LPF at fc = 2.5 GHz, we get 10.6 dB/GHz selectivity using the triangular DGS; while the OS-type DGS provides 39 dB/GHz selectivity. For these two filters, the 10 dB impedance matching BW is 76% and 84%, respectively. It is a much wider BW that is obtained for a lumped element Bessel LPF. The maximum group delay (GD) variation within the pass band is 25pS and 28pS, respectively. The 20 dB rejection BW can be increased from 5.8 GHz to 18.8 GHz with increase in the order of filter from 5 to 11. We have also presented the design of a compact five-pole DGS-based elliptic filter with selectivity 38.2 dB/GHz and 17.8 dB return loss. Results on the DGS-based elliptic filter, Butterworth and Chebyshev filters are also presented. The experimental results are compared against the recently reported LPFs. Our reported filters perform better with respect to selectivity and group delay variation. The flatter GD and high selectivity, along with a wide 10 dB impedance matching BW, make the DGS Bessel filter a candidate for high-speed data communication, front end of a wideband communication system and efficiency improvement of a power amplifier.  相似文献

设计、制作了几种基于MMIC工艺的片上LC低通/带通滤波器并进行了测试. 测试结果表明,一个3nH的MMIC电感在6.8GHz下品质因数达到13.8,自谐振频率达到15.5GHz;制作的LC低通/带通滤波器的截止频率或中心频率与设计偏差很小,分别为2%和3.3%;低通滤波器在各自通带内的插入损耗小于3dB,带通滤波器在中心频率的插入损耗为7.2dB.  相似文献

带通滤波器为现代毫米波系统中进行频率选择的重要器件,而波导滤波器因其低损耗、大功率容量、易加工等优点成为首选。为满足系统的小型化要求,设计了一种基于双模谐振器且具有准椭圆函数响应的W波段波导带通滤波器。该波导带通滤波器结构简单紧凑,由两个双模方形脊谐振腔组成,可获得2 个传输零点及四阶准椭圆函数响应。滤波器样品选取紫铜材质,采用CNC 技术加工制作。经矢量网络分析仪测试,该滤波器通带内插损低,达0.5 dB,3 dB 波束带宽为4.35 %(92.2 ~96.3 GHz),回波损耗优于20 dB,通带外存在两个非对称零点。在全W波段的测试结果与仿真数据高度吻合。  相似文献

Novel dual-mode hexagonal loop resonators with the patch and notch perturbation are proposed in this paper. The field patterns of the degenerate modes and their mode splitting characteristics are investigated. The applications of the dual-mode hexagonal loop resonator as bandpass filters are presented. It is shown that different responses can be realized using only a single dual-mode resonator by changing the position of the perturbation. A coupling and routing scheme is presented to model the operations of these filters. Two- and four-pole filters of this type are demonstrated for the first time. All the theoretical analysis and design procedures have been verified by experimental results.  相似文献

In this paper, a method for reducing the size of coplanar-waveguide (CPW) resonators, used in the design of compact bandpass filters, is presented. This is accomplished by incorporating a distributed array of capacitive loads along a resonant CPW line. Design of a miniaturized bandpass filter using capacitively loaded CPW resonators, which are inductively coupled, is presented. Inductively coupled bandpass filters with the proposed capacitively loaded CPW line resonators are designed and a size reduction of 25%, compared with filters using a standard CPW line resonator, is demonstrated. It is shown that, through this size reduction, the insertion loss is minimally increased (<0.4 dB). A hybrid algorithm, combining the method of moments (MOM) and circuit simulation is used to facilitate design process. Few filters using this technique are designed, fabricated, and measured at W-band. An excellent agreement between the simulation and measurement responses of these filters is presented.  相似文献

A new approach for designing digitally programmable CMOS integrated baseband filters is presented. The proposed technique provides a systematic method for designing filters exhibiting high linearity and low power. A sixth-order Butterworth low-pass filter with 14-bit bandwidth tuning range is designed for implementing the baseband channel-select filter in an integrated multistandard wireless receiver. The filter consumes a current of 2.25 mA from a 2.7-V supply and occupies an area of 1.25 mm2 in a 0.5-μm chip. The proposed filter design achieves high spurious free dynamic ranges (SFDRs) of 92 dB for PDC (IS-54), 89 dB for GSM, 84 dB for IS-95, and 80 dB for WCDMA  相似文献

In this paper, we present a new parallel-coupled-line microstrip bandpass filter with suppressed spurious passband. Using a continuous perturbation of the width of the coupled lines following a sinusoidal law, the wave impedance is modulated so that the harmonic passband of the filter is rejected while the desired passband response is maintained virtually unaltered. This strip-width perturbation does not require the filter parameters to be recalculated and, this way, the classical design methodology for coupled-line microstrip filters can still be used. At the same time, the fabrication of the resulting filter layout does not involve more difficulties than those for typical coupled-line microstrip filters. To test this novel technique, 3rd-order Butterworth bandpass filters have been designed at 2.5 GHz, with a 10% fractional bandwidth and different values of the perturbation amplitude. It is shown that for a 47.5 % sinusoidal variation of the nominal strip width, a harmonic rejection of more than 40 dB is achieved in measurement while the passband at 2.5 GHz is almost unaltered  相似文献

The performance of the magnetostatic surface wave straight-edge resonator (MSSW-SER) is presented. The resonator uses a rectangular YIG film to propagate MSSWs where the straight edge serves as a reflector. Problems arising from coupling to width mode resonances and their effect on the main resonance are investigated. Through a careful choice of YIG and transducer parameters, the interference effects of the width mode resonances with the main resonance are minimized. As a result, highQ tunable microwave resonators with a tuning range from 2–20 GHz, insertion loss less than 10 dB, and spurious rejection better than 10 dB could be designed and fabricated. This MSSW resonator could be used to construct a tunable low-phase-noise feedback oscillator. However, the tuning range of this MSW feedback oscillator is limited by the phase change of the external amplifier circuit.  相似文献

This paper describes miniature ceramic feedthru type electromagnetic interference (EMI) filters. Electrically, the devices function as low-pass filters with a 3-dB cutoff frequency in the low-megahertz range. The filters are mechanically rugged and in many applications can be placed in the I/O connector or substituted for the existing feedthrus. The monolithic distributed filter covered in the paper behaves as a section of transmission line at all frequencies and is essentially free of undesired resonances. The theory of lossy transmission line is used to show that with a distributed dissipative filter, the effect of terminating impedances is dramatically reduced. The effect of operating environment on the electrical characteristics is also presented.  相似文献

The performance of resonant channel-dropping filters in wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) applications is computed. 31 and 50 filters are cascaded along a single bus with crosstalks of -27 and -14 dB, respectively. The temporal response of the filter for a secant-hyperbolic pulse stream at 400 Mb/s and 1 Gb/s is presented. The simulation shows the promise of resonant-filter cascades.<>  相似文献

This paper presents a compact system-on-package-based front-end solution for 60-GHz-band wireless communication/sensor applications that consists of fully integrated three-dimensional (3-D) cavity filters/duplexers and antenna. The presented concept is applied to the design, fabrication, and testing of V-band (receiver (Rx): 59-61.5 GHz, transmitter (Tx): 61.5-64 GHz) transceiver front-end module using multilayer low-temperature co-fired ceramic technology. Vertically stacked 3-D low-loss cavity bandpass filters are developed for Rx and Tx channels to realize a fully integrated compact duplexer. Each filter exhibits excellent performance (Rx: IL<2.37 dB, 3-dB bandwidth (BW) /spl sim/3.5%, Tx: IL<2.39 dB, 3-dB BW /spl sim/3.33%). The fabrication tolerances contributing to the resonant frequency experimental downshift were investigated and taken into account in the simulations of the rest devices. The developed cavity filters are utilized to realize the compact duplexers by using microstrip T-junctions. This integrated duplexer shows Rx/Tx BW of 4.20% and 2.66% and insertion loss of 2.22 and 2.48 dB, respectively. The different experimental results of the duplexer compared to the individual filters above are attributed to the fabrication tolerance, especially on microstrip T-junctions. The measured channel-to-channel isolation is better than 35.2 dB across the Rx band (56-58.4 GHz) and better than 38.4 dB across the Tx band (59.3-60.9 GHz). The reported fully integrated Rx and Tx filters and the dual-polarized cross-shaped patch antenna functions demonstrate a novel 3-D deployment of embedded components equipped with an air cavity on the top. The excellent overall performance of the full integrated module is verified through the 10-dB BW of 2.4 GHz (/spl sim/4.18%) at 57.45 and 2.3 GHz (/spl sim/3.84%) at 59.85 GHz and the measured isolation better than 49 dB across the Rx band and better than 51.9 dB across the Tx band.  相似文献
