A multi-wavelength Brillouin erbium fibre laser, which operates in short wavelength band (S-band), is proposed and demonstrated. The system employs both linear gain and nonlinear gain from a 20 m S-band erbium-doped fibre and a 500 m singlemode fibre, respectively, to generate an optical wavelength comb with spacing of approximately 0.084 nm. Two 80/20 couplers were used in the system as an internal feedback of generated Stokes signal to produce cascaded Brillouin Stokes for multiwavelength operation. A stable output laser comb of up to seven lines was obtained with a Brillouin pump of 3.5 mW and a 980 nm pump of 200 mW.  相似文献

Blue semiconductor laser pumped continuous-wave laser oscillation of a Pr-doped ZrF/sub 4/-BaF/sub 2/-LaF/sub 3/-AlF/sub 3/-NaF fibre in the red spectral range is reported for the first time. The pump power is provided by a frequency-doubled optically pumped semiconductor laser system. When pumped with 300 mW at a wavelength of 479.7 nm, the Pr/sup 3+/-laser emitted 94 mW of output power at a wavelength of 635 nm. Threshold pump power and slope efficiency with respect to the incident pump power were determined to be 49.7 mW and 41.5%, respectively.  相似文献

The dependence of threshold and slope efficiency on pump wavelength around 0.8 μm has been investigated for an Yb-sensitised fibre laser. Efficient CW operation of a 2.71 μm Er,Pr:ZBLAN double-clad fibre laser pumped with a single diode laser operating at a wavelength of 975 nm is described. A maximum output power of 0.5 W and a slope efficiency of 25% (with respect to the launched pump power) were obtained. Threshold pump powers of <200 mW launched were measured and consistent relaxation oscillations in the output from the fibre laser indicate the presence of a saturable absorption mechanism  相似文献

The first demonstration of upconversion pumped lasing at green wavelengths in an Er/sup 3+/-doped fluorozirconate fibre laser is reported. 15 mW continuous wave emission at a wavelength of 546 nm has been achieved for an absorbed pump power of 300 mW.<>  相似文献

360 mW fibre output power and excellent wavelength stability within 0.6 nm over a temperature range from 10 to 70/spl deg/C in a grating-stabilised AlGalaAs/InP 14xx-nm pump laser is reported. 1.064 mu m upconversion pumping was used to operate a highly efficient CW and Q-switched thulium (Tm/sup 3+/)-doped fluoride fibre laser at around 1.47 mu m. The maximum CW output power was 100 mW for a launched pump power of 570 mW. The threshold power was 200 mW, the slope efficiency 27% and the wavelength width 20 nm. A thulium doped fluorozirconate fibre laser operating continuous-wave at wavelengths around 810 nm when pumped at 780 nm is reported. A slope efficiency of 15% with respect to incident pump power and a maximum output of 125 mW was achieved. High gain coefficient in an erbium-doped fibre amplifier, 3.8 dB/mW at 1.536 mu m and 2.3 dB/mW at 1.552 mu m, is achieved for a pump wavelength of 664 nm by using an erbium-doped fibre with a high numerical aperture of 0.285 and thermally-diffused expanded core fibre ends. A 1.3 μm fibre laser consisting of a 1000 ppm (mol) Pr3+ -doped fluoride glass fibre with dichroic mirrors coated onto the fibre endfaces and an Nd-YLF pump laser is presented. 为了获得窄线宽、高功率、长波长(相对于1030nm~1080nm)的1120nm光纤激光器,采用普通单模掺镱光纤和一对光纤布喇格光栅构建了该光纤激光器的谐振腔,为保证抽运光的完全吸收和避免非线性效应,对有源光纤的最佳长度进行了理论分析和实验验证。结果表明,激光器的阈值抽运功率为40mW、注入抽运功率为265mW时,激光器输出信号光功率35mW,光光转换效率为13.2%,激光器中心波长为1120.9nm,输出激光的谱线宽度为0.03nm。这种激光器的获得是因为采用了高反射率耦合输出光纤布喇格光栅、短谐振腔结构和低功率运转状态。该激光器可作为种子光注入光纤放大器。  相似文献

By using a broad-band fiber mirror (BFM) and a tunable fiber-Bragg-grating at either end of laser cavity, a wavelength tunable erbium-doped fiber laser is demonstrated. In a forward pump scheme using 100 mW pump power at 1480 nm, stable lasing output power of 21.14-mW measured at 1544.8 nm is obtained with a threshold pump power of 4.7 mW. A side-mode suppression ratio as high as 57.9 dB, wavelength tuning range up to 30 nm with step resolution of 0.2 nm and power variation less than plusmn1.0 dB are achieved. For a backward pump scheme, the BFM acts as a broad-band reflector both for the lasing signal and pump source. The high performance, cost-effective BFM based tunable fiber laser may play an important role in fiber optics communication and fiber sensing applications.  相似文献
