A temperature and strain rate dependent model for the thermoforming process of amorphous polymer materials is proposed. The polymeric sheet is heated at a temperature above the glass transition temperature then deformed to take the mold shape by the means of an applied pressure. The applied process temperature is taken uniform throughout the sheet and its variation is due only to the adiabatic heating. The behavior of the polymeric material is described by a micromechanically‐based elastic‐viscoplastic model. The simulations are conducted for the poly(methyl methacrylate) using the finite element method. The polymer sheet thickness and the orientation of the polymer molecular chains show an important dependence on the process temperature, the applied pressure profile, and the contact forces with the mold surface. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Process nonlinearity, multiple operating modes and time-varying characteristics often deteriorate the prediction performance of process models. In this article, a multi-mode moving-window Gaussian process regression (MWGPR) based approach for ARX modeling is proposed to effectively capture process nonlinearity or switching dynamics. The Gaussian mixture model (GMM) is first introduced to separate the data into different operating modes. Then the MWGPR strategy is applied to identify the local ARX model. Just-in-time learning (JITL) and dual updating are applied for more effective tracking of process dynamics. A simulation of a continuous fermentation process and a pilot scale experiment are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. 相似文献

A basic mathematical model, mainly focused on economic assessment is directly applied to a counter-current, stage-wise, solvent-selective extraction system. A standard extraction model, based on the modeling of a mixer-settler process, is used as point of departure. This system is used to extract a dissolved compound in a process stream. Thereafter sensible operating and economic parameters are integrated into it. An adequate handling of these parameters allows a practical preliminary optimization process modeling. The economic assessment model can be applied from one to "ri" stages in any industrial stage-wise process unit. An optimum number of stages are determined based on solvent extraction and economic assessment. 相似文献
