回顾自从1985年我们到美国考察包装工程教育,把密执安州立大学包装学院该专业的全套教学计划和教材搬回来,结合我们原有的包装机械专业的教学计划,首先创建了具有“横向知识模式”的包装工程本科专业,至今已过去了15个年头。适合我国国情的第一套包装工程全国统编教材,在20世纪80年代中期便推向全国。随着市场经济的发展,在全民上包装的热潮推动下,先后有20多家大学开设了这一好似热门的专业或相关的课程。到目前为止,预计全国有数千名包装工程专业的本专科生已走向社会,对我国包装工业的大发展作出了不可磨灭的  相似文献

Collective action will require the citizens of both technological and emerging nations to collaborate in order to bring about drastic modifications of lifestyle. This raises the issue of what high-school graduates should know about science. With science literacy becoming an ever-increasing component of education in this 21st century, a rigorous education in mathematics, science, and technology can, with modest variations, serve vocational or liberal arts students just as well as future scientists and engineers. The overall goal of this study was to evaluate the environmental performance of the process currently used to package and palletize ceramic floor and wall tiles, and to propose and analyse improvements from an environmental point of view. After developing a life cycle inventory of the primary and tertiary packaging, the life cycle assessment was applied according to mandatory and optional elements of ISO 14042. The results are presented in three parts: the first quantifies the environmental behaviour of the current packaging system, the second examines strategies focused on minimizing the environmental burdens of such critical elements, and the third quantifies the environmental improvements, compared with the initial situation, that are obtained with the application of each improvement. The simultaneous incorporation of all the proposed improvements into the packaging system can reduce impact within the 18–45% range, depending on the impact method that is applied. This study aims to develop a strategic information system applied to packaging design. Previously, we could not computerize the whole packaging design process because:
  • (i) The safety factors with respect to the various environmental conditions of distribution had not been determined accurately
  • (ii) The pallet loading pattern could not be found by means of computational algorithms approximating the judgment of expert operators
  • (iii) There were no methods for inputting data except through the keyboard
As described in this report, we derived the degradation factor concerning the actual compressive strength through various experiments and structured a rulebase using specialized deductions based on the intuition and long years of experience of our engineers. The results of this study show that it is now possible to develop a strategic information system applied to packaging design, combining the database, production-rule-based systems for pallet loading pattern, compressive strength analysis and barcode system.  相似文献

The introduction of legislation to minimize packaging waste requires consumer goods manufacturers to use lighter‐weight materials and increase the use of recycled materials. This is demanding that machinery manufacturers provide highly flexible machines and tooling capable of handling these materials and new package designs. However, the ability of manufacturers to achieve this is all but prevented by a lack of fundamental understanding of machine–material interactions and an ability to generate such understanding. One way to overcome this is to use advanced simulation tools to represent the whole system including machine, process, materials and product. A finite element‐based simulation has been created to represent the in‐process behaviour of a packing system. The simulation focuses on the critical transition between flattened and erected states of a carton. In order to successfully simulate such a complex process, there are a number of major challenges concerning the representation of packaging materials and their properties, changing material behaviour during processing, machinery simulation and process modelling (simulating the interfacial interactions that take place during processing). The application of the whole‐system simulation for the purposes of improved design and operation are discussed with respect to four activities: design and set‐up of tooling, determination of optimal process settings, specification of material properties and the design of the pack. In all cases, a strong correlation was observed between the theoretical results and those obtained practically, thereby enabling quantitative understanding and quantitative rules to be generated. The packaging of industrial food products is the most important means of transmitting a product's image and taste value. When the nature of its interface and its contents are the product of carefully planned imaging, the product has notable advantages in defining its image and product identity. Modern food trends dictate an ever‐increasing amount of services: The so‐called ‘functional packaging’ and ‘active packaging’ are prime examples of this service. The greatest innovation within this category of products consists literally of their interaction with food. These features create numerous fallbacks within all stages of the life‐cycle of a product, requiring a complex and multidisciplinary evaluation. The evaluation strategy of services which this packaging will offer to the consumer is still to be defined, and still to be identified within the key applications are the interests of the intermediary links of the production process. This requires the evaluation of the semantic and communicative aspects of the packaging which tend to be confused with the foodstuffs, the individualization of appropriate user profiles, control of logistical and location aspect of production, and a careful analysis of a comprehensive environmental balance, all issues that are parts of the objectives of the European project, Actipak. It is hoped, therefore, that the elaboration of these packaging systems will become a motive to try out a more knowledgeable and systematic design process for foodstuffs, in which innovative technology is used to provide effective benefits to the consumer.
