In recent years the requirement for the reduction of energy consumption has been increasing to solve the problems of global warming and the shortage of petroleum resources. For example, in the power generation field, as thermal power generation occupied 60% of the power generation demand, considerable improvement of the thermal efficiency is required. This paper describes the pressure drop characteristics of finned tube banks used for heat exchangers in thermal power generation that were clarified by testing serrated finned tube banks with different fin heights for improved heat transfer and conventional spiral finned tube banks with different fin heights, and an equation to predict pressure drop which is necessary for the heat exchanger design is proposed. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A latent heat recovery type heat exchanger is one of the effective methods for improving thermal efficiency by recovering latent heat. This paper describes the heat transfer and pressure loss characteristics of a latent heat recovery type heat exchanger having straight fins (fin length: 65 mm or 100 mm, fin pitch: 2.5 mm or 4 mm). These were clarified by measuring the exchange heat quantity, the pressure loss of the heat exchanger, and the heat transfer coefficient between the outer fin surface and gas. The effects of fin length and fin pitch on heat transfer and pressure loss characteristics were clarified. Furthermore, equations for predicting the heat transfer coefficient and pressure loss which are necessary for heat exchanger design were proposed. ©2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 利用低气压环境模拟装置对开缝翅片管换热器在不同气压下的换热性能进行实验研究.研究结果表明:随着气压不断降低,换热器周围空气密度逐渐降低,换热器空气侧换热系数以及显热换热量逐渐降低,而空气含湿量随着气压降低逐渐升高,导致潜热换热量逐渐增加;当气压降至0.058 MPa以下时,换热器空气侧潜热换热量占主要部分,当气压为0.04 MPa时,换热器换热能力与常压下相比下降了36.63%.  相似文献

利用搭建的液-液型板式换热器试验平台,根据实验数据运用定性雷诺数法拟合出传热关联式,找出Nu与摩擦因子f之间的通用关系式,为板式换热器的设计计算提供了依据。运用传热量与功率的消耗比来评价板式换热器的性能,找出了影响其性能的主要因素,进一步澄清了单纯依靠提高流速来增加传热性能是不经济的。  相似文献

Effect of fins on heat transfer around a tube was investigated experimentally. A test tube of 30 mm diameter was installed in a test section of an open‐type wind tunnel as a single tube, or as a center tube in a single tube row and in a tube bundle of staggered layout. Fins made of paper were put on the test tube having certain fin spacing. It was clarified from the experiment that the local heat transfer coefficient around the tube degrades with decreasing fin spacing, especially on the downstream side of the tube, and the minimum fin spacing where the effect of the fin begins to appear is the largest for the single tube and the smallest for the tube bundle. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A steady-state three-dimensional numerical model was used to study the heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of an offset strip fin heat exchanger. Water was the heat transfer medium, and the Reynolds number Redh ranged from 10 to 3500. Variations in the Fanning friction factor f and the Colburn heat transfer factor j relative to Redh were observed. General correlations for the f and j factors were derived, and these could be used to analyze fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics of offset strip fins in the laminar, transition, and turbulent regions. Finally, three performance criteria (j/f, j/f1/3, and JF) were adopted, and the best performance criteria for the cases Pr = 7 and Pr = 50 were chosen to be JF and j/f1/3, respectively.  相似文献

The effect of fins on heat transfer around a tube in an aligned‐arranged tube bundle was investigated experimentally, and the obtained results were compared for three arrangements, i.e., single tube, single tube row, and staggered‐arrangement. It was found from the experiment that the effect of fins begins to appear in an aligned‐arrangement with larger fin spacing than in a staggered‐arrangement. The degradation in the local heat transfer coefficient due to fins can be recognized not only on the rear region of the tube, as observed in other arrangements, but also on the frontal region. As a result of this phenomenon, the degradation in the average heat transfer coefficient in an aligned‐arrangement becomes larger than in other arrangements with the same fin spacing. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The tube bank fin is commonly used to increase the area of the heat transfer surface with a small heat transfer coefficient of a heat exchanger. If vortex generators (VGs) are punched on the fin surface, the heat transfer performance of the fin can be improved. This paper focused on the effect of transversal tube pitch on the local heat transfer performance of the three-row flat tube bank fin mounted with VGs. On the fin surface, constructing the flow channel but without mounted VGs, the transversal tube pitch was greater, and the span averaged Nusselt number downstream was larger because fewer interactions of vortices would be generated from different VGs located upstream. When the area goodness factor was used as the criteria on the condition of one tube unit of heat exchanger for commonly used fin materials and fin thickness, the transversal tube pitch has considerable effect on the heat transfer enhancement of VGs. Large transversal tube pitch is more sensitive to fin material than to fin thickness.  相似文献

扩展传热面是提高单位体积内传热面积最常用的方法。以空气为介质,对三种给定的肋片管束(H型、纵肋肋片、螺旋肋片)进行了顺列和错列的换热和流动阻力实验。实验结果表明:错列布置的管束换热效果优于顺列布置的管束,但流动阻力相应增加;错列布置时,综合考虑换热和阻力因素,螺旋肋片管有较好的换热经济性。通过对实验数据进行拟合回归,得出了实验条件下各肋片管束顺列、错列布置的换热关联式。为肋片管束的工程应用、优化选取及进一步的实验研究提供了理论依据。  相似文献

This work presents a numerical investigation of a vertical internally finned tube subjected to forced convection heat transfer. The governing equations were solved numerically using the control volume technique. Nusselt number, Nu, and friction factor multiplied by Reynolds number, fRe, are influenced greatly by the height and number of the radial fins. The velocity and temperature distributions inside the tube depend on the number and height of the radial fins. This paper suggests that for best heat transfer to be achieved there is an optimum combination of fin numbers and height.  相似文献

Detailed heat transfer measurements were performed by using 178 thermocouples in a channel with pin fin array. Local heat transfer coefficients and local heat transfer enhancement coefficients were obtained for eight Reynolds numbers ranging from 2000 to 100,000 on the endwall of the channel. The endwall boundary conditions for heat transfer investigation are heating the bottom endwall and heating symmetrically the bottom and top endwalls with constant heat flux. 为了获得翅片间距Pf对平直翅片管换热器的传热与阻力特性的影响规律,根据相似模化原理对3种不同Pf的平直翅片管换热器进行了试验研究。结果表明:雷诺数Rea在4 000~8 000范围内,努赛尔数Nua数随Rea的增大而增加,欧拉数Eua随Rea的增大而降低;同一Rea下,Nua随Pf减小而增加,但增加不明显,Eua随Pf增大而降低;同一Rea下,Pf越大,综合流动传热性能越好,但实际换热面积会减小,需综合考虑。研究成果可为汽轮发电机平直翅片管换热器的结构和性能优化提供依据。  相似文献

Experimental studies were conducted to investigate the air-side heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of a novel louvered fins and flat tube heat exchangers. A series of tests were conducted for 9 heat exchangers with different fin space and fin length, at a constant tube-side water flow rate of 2.8 m3/h. The air side thermal performance data were analyzed using the effectiveness-NTU method. Results were presented as plot of Colburn j factor and friction factor f against the Reynolds number in the range of 500–6500. The characteristics of the heat transfer and pressure drop of different fin space and fin length were analyzed and compared. In addition, the curves of the heat transfer coefficients vs. pumping power per unit heat transfer area were plotted. Finally, the area optimization factor was used to evaluate the thermal hydraulic performance of the louvered fins with differential geometries. 研究了一种电机冷却用新型翅片开孔结构换热器的性能,对三种结构的翅片管换热器进行了换热和阻力性能测试,新型翅片换热器结构为翅片间距2.1 mm且翅片上具有开孔结构,对照组换热器分别为翅片间距2.1 mm无开孔换热器和翅片间距2.3 mm无开孔换热器。试验结果表明,相同Re数下,该种具有开孔结构换热器在所有换热器中换热性能最好,较2.1 mm无孔提升38%~39%,但同时压降损失也最大,较2.1 mm无孔提升41.9%~42.9%。采用j/f评价综合性能,结果显示,Re>6700时,新型翅片换热器性能优于同翅片间距无开孔换热器。文章还对这三种结构翅片管换热器进行了传热和阻力关联式拟合,可为相关理论研究和工程选用提供参考。  相似文献

基于Nusselt凝结传热理论,沿肋片管圆周方向划分有限个微元角,建立了每个微元角内肋侧壁、肋间基管及肋顶三个区域的凝结传热模型,通过求解非淹没区和淹没区总传热量,推导管外平均传热系数计算式。计算不同肋片高度、肋密度时,R134a饱和蒸汽的管外平均凝结传热系数。结果表明:随肋密度的增加,平均传热系数先增大后减小,肋密度为25fpi时传热最佳;高肋片管的平均凝结传热系数大于低肋片管的,肋片高度达到一定值时,平均传热系数几乎不随肋高增加而增加。当R134a饱和蒸汽为20℃时,两种不同翅片密度的管外平均凝结传热系数随温差的增大而减小,并通过所建模型得到的计算值与Beatty-Kate模型进行了比较,平均误差分别为约16.1%和8.3%,故所建模型基本反映肋片管外蒸汽凝结传热机理。  相似文献
