This paper presents a long-stroke contact scanning probe with high precision and low stiffness for micro/nano coordinate measuring machines (micro/nano CMMs). The displacements of the probe tip in 3D are detected by two plane mirrors supported by an elastic mechanism, which is comprised of a tungsten stylus, a floating plate and two orthogonal Z-shaped leaf springs fixed to the outer case. A Michelson interferometer is used to detect the vertical displacement of the mirror mounted on the center of the floating plate. An autocollimator based two dimensional angle sensor is used to detect the tilt of the other plane mirror located at the end of the arm of the floating plate. The stiffness and the dynamic properties are investigated by simulation. The optimal structural parameters of the probe are obtained based on the force-motion model and the constrained conditions of stiffness, measurement range and horizontal size. The results of the performance tests show that the probe has a contact force gradient within 0.5 mN/μm, a measuring range of (±20 μm), (±20 μm), and 20 μm, respectively, in X, Y and Z directions, and a measurement standard deviation of 30 nm. The feasibility of the probe has preliminarily been verified by testing the curved surface of a convex lens.  相似文献

This paper presents the design and calibration of an ISO non-compliant orifice plate flowmeter whose intended use is for respiratory function measurements in the bidirectional air flow range ±9 L/min.The novelty of the proposed sensor consists of a plate beveled in both upstream and downstream sides: a symmetrical geometry is adopted in order to perform bidirectional measurements of flow rate. A mathematical model is introduced to quantify the influence of temperature on the sensor output. Four different positions of the pressure static taps are evaluated in order to maximize bidirectionality. An index is also introduced in order to quantitatively estimate the anti-symmetry of the sensor's response curve.Trials are carried out to evaluate the influence on sensor output of air temperatures (22 °C, 30 °C and 37 °C) at different values of relative humidity (5%, 55% and 85%). Experimental data show a quite good agreement with the theoretical model (R2>0.98 in each condition). The influence of air temperature on the sensor output is minimized by introducing a correction factor based on the theoretical model leading to measurement repeatability better than 2% in overall range of calibration. The mean sensitivity in the calibration range is about 2 kPa L−1·min allowing to obtain a sensor discrimination threshold lower than 0.2 L/min in both directions. The time constant of the whole measurement system, equal to 2.40±0.03 ms, leads to a bandwidth up to 80 Hz making the sensor suitable for respiratory function measurements.  相似文献

We developed a promising shearing force sensor that is small in size and can measure shearing force along two axes independently. This sensor consists of an elastic gum frame and an optical sensor chip (6 mm × 6 mm × 8 mm). From the experimental results, the resolutions of the sensor along the x- and y-axes are found to be 0.070 N and 0.063 N. We also experimentally demonstrated that the sensor can separately measure shearing force along two axes. Finally, we demonstrated that the scale factor which correspond to resolution and linear portion which correspond to measuring range of the signals can be changed easily by using three types of elastic gum frame. This sensor can be embedded in the finger of a robot hand and use it to not only measure shearing force but also detect the slip phenomenon.  相似文献

There is a growing interest in accurately measuring the timing of the J peak of the ballistocardiogram (BCG) in order to obtain cardiovascular function markers non-invasively, especially in modern home healthcare applications. In this paper we have studied the effect that some common uncertainty sources have in the time measurement of the J peak. This is a necessary step towards the standardization of modern ballistocardiography systems equivalent to that available for ECG systems. We conclude that, to reduce J peak time uncertainty below the measured intrinsic uncertainty of about ±2 ms, the minimal bandwidth should be from 1.5 Hz to 22.5 Hz; the sampling frequency can be decreased up to 50 Hz when using cubic spline interpolation; 5 bits are required to quantify the signal, and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) should be over 40 dB and 3 dB respectively.  相似文献

We propose a refractive index optical fiber sensor based on the micro cavities generated through the fiber catastrophic fuse effect. This sensor was tested in the measurement of solutions with refractive indices ranging from 1.3320 to 1.4280. The linear dependence of the reflection spectra modulation period as function of the surrounding environment refractive index leads to a resolution of 3 × 10−4 RIU. The proposed sensor is an innovative solution based on optical fiber damaged by the fuse effect, resulting in a cost effective solution.  相似文献

Quantitative measurement of hand kinematics can help us to better understand pathophysiological aspects of finger neural control and quantify hand impairments. A sensor glove was developed based on resistive bend sensors and resistive force sensors to monitor finger joint angles and forces exerted to objects by fingers. The validity and reliability of the glove were evaluated. A novel method was proposed to visualize and quantify the abnormality of the inter-joint coordination. The validity test indicated that the accuracy error of measuring joint angles was approximately ±6° and that of measuring forces was approximately ±8 g. The reliability test yielded an intraclass correlation coefficient of 0.9876 ± 0.0058 for the force sensors and 0.9561 ± 0.0431 for the bend sensors. The stability, accuracy and reliability of measuring joint angles were comparable with previous studies. The involvement of force sensors and the capacity of reflecting inter-joint coordination make the glove more comprehensive for hand function assessment.  相似文献

A motorized 5 m tape comparator was constructed in TUBITAK UME for calibration of tapes and rules up to 5 m length in one set-up and further lengths in multiple set-ups. The system is a practical development and provides a cost effective solution for calibration of tapes in which the highest grade’s accuracy requirement in OIML R35-1 e.g. is 600 μm for 5 m length and 1100 μm for 10 m length. It is mainly composed of 6 m rail system, mechanical parts, optical units and an integrated 6 m incremental linear encoder as a reference measurement axis for traceable measurements. The rails are kinematically located on a heavy marble construction and a motorized carriage, which employs a camera for probing of the scales on the tapes, is moved along the rails during the measurement. The image of the scale taken by the camera is viewed on the monitor screen together with the running software. The operator can perform the probing process by simply moving the carriage over the measured scales (tapes or rules) using a joystick. The carriage movement is measured by the incremental linear encoder previously calibrated by a laser interferometer and the software automatically takes the measurement results from the incremental linear encoder, applies correction values previously defined and determines the length of the tapes and rules as well as deviations from nominal lengths. The estimated expanded uncertainty of the steel tape measurement is U = 54 μm in one set-up (for 5 m length) and U = 77 μm in two set-ups (for 10 m length) at the confidence level of approximately 95%. Uncertainty budget for calibration of the device itself and for calibration of the test tapes are explained in detail. The results of extensive experimental work and analysis are provided by demonstrating application of science and technology of measurement and instrumentation. Investigations for long term stability of the system are given with the reported test results for the years of 2003-2011 and participated intercomparison results to validate the device scientifically are illustrated.  相似文献

This paper aims to demonstrate the importance of uncertainties in the measurement of environmental noise in the context of Italian legislation on noise pollution focusing the attention on the variability of the measurand as a source of uncertainty and offering a proposal for the evaluation of uncertainty for traffic noise measurement. In particular, drawing on a real traffic noise dataset, firstly outliers are eliminated from the actual noise measurements using an outlier detection algorithm based on K-neighbors distance and then uncertainty range is estimated with the bootstrap-t method. Since the original sequence was Gaussian, this range was compared with the confidence interval of the mean ± standard deviation interval and two intervals were almost coincident.  相似文献

The Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) has developed a 20 N deadweight force standard machine. The machine consists of a weight stack, a loading frame, a taring system, a main body and a control system. The taring system has the role of compensating the initial force generated by the loading frame. With two motors, a displacement sensor, several limit switches, and a synthetic control system consisting of a programmable logic controller and an operating PC, the machine can be operated almost fully automatically. The machine can generate a compressive force in the range of 0.5–22 N with a relative expanded uncertainty of 1.0 × 10–4. The machine was compared with a 200 N deadweight force standard machine. In the comparison, the relative deviation was 5.8 × 10–5, less than the declared expanded uncertainty of the force standard machines, therefore confirming the machine’s accuracy.  相似文献

Measurement uncertainty is an important parameter to express measurement results including means and reliability. The uncertainty analysis of the biomedical measurement system needs to be established. A perspiration measurement system composed of several sensors was developed. We aim to estimate the measurement uncertainty of this system with several uncertainty sources, including airflow rate, air density, and inlet and outlet absolute humidity. Measurement uncertainty was evaluated and compared by the Guide to the expression of the uncertainty in measurement (GUM) method and Monte Carlo simulation. The standard uncertainty for the perspiration measurement system was 6.81 × 10−6 kg/s and the uncertainty percentage <10%. The major source of the uncertainty was airflow rate, and inlet and outlet absolute humidity. The Monte Carlo simulation could be executed easily with available spreadsheet software programs of the Microsoft Excel. GUM and Monte Carlo simulation did not differ in measurement uncertainty with precision to two decimal places. However, the sensitivity coefficient derived by GUM provided useful information to improve measurement performance, which was not evaluated with the Monte Carlo simulation method.  相似文献

Phase noise is an important parameter to characterise the frequency stability of oscillators and synthesised signal generators. Accurate measurement of phase noise is required for various applications in radar, communication and navigation systems. A single-channel phase-detector based phase noise measurement system is described. The system’s measurement errors and uncertainties have been analysed in details. The expanded uncertainty is about 2.7 dB for calibrating phase noise of a signal generator at 0.001–1.6 GHz for frequency offsets from 1 Hz to 100 kHz. The uncertainty budget for measuring a signal generator’s phase noise at 640 MHz is also presented.  相似文献

In ISO 14405-1, the global sizes, such as least-squares diameter, minimum circumscribed diameter and maximum inscribed diameter are defined. The diameters above can be measured by using cylindrical coordinate measuring method like the circular section measuring method of cylindricity error. The determination method of the least-squares diameter was firstly given based on the cylindrical measuring system, and the optimization models of the minimum circumscribed diameter and the maximum inscribed diameter were built, respectively. The corresponding objective functions were unified as “minimax” expressions. For the four axis parameters of the cylinder with the minimum circumscribed diameter or the maximum inscribed diameter, the searching ranges of cylinder’s axis parameters for their optimal solutions were defined numerically. Thereafter, the genetic, steepest decent and BFGS-0.618 algorithms were introduced, and the optimization evaluation algorithms of two kinds of diameters mentioned above were given. Based on many cylinders’ profiles obtained by the circular section measuring method on a measuring instrument of cylinder’s global sizes which was developed by Zhongyuan University of Technology, Zhengzhou, China. The accuracy, efficiency and suitability of three optimization algorithms were investigated through the evaluation of a lot of the minimum circumscribed diameters and the maximum inscribed diameters. The measurement uncertainty of the global sizes for the cylindrical specimen was analyzed, and the measurement uncertainties of the sizes in the radial and z directions are ±0.95 μm and ±0.5 μm, respectively. The total measurement uncertainties of the global sizes of the cylindrical specimens with the specifications of ϕ10 × 120 mm and ϕ100 × 300 mm are ±3.8 μm and ±5.7 μm, respectively. The investigation results showed that for the evaluation of the globe sizes, any one of three algorithms above is not absolutely prior to the other two algorithms while considering both evaluation accuracy and efficiency, and the difference of their evaluation results do not exceed 0.5 μm. On the other hand, many points between the maximum value and the least value do not affect the evaluation results in optimization process. For improving the evaluation efficiency, by de-selecting those points while considering the characteristic parameter was also studied based on the statistic method and experiment. Coefficient t should be less than 0.3 to ensure the evaluation accuracy. This research may be useful for developing the next generation measurement instrument for the global sizes and the way forward for the digital manufacturing.  相似文献

A shear mode micro-probing system was constructed for gap measurement of a precision slot die coater with a nominal gap width of 90 μm and a length of 200 mm. A glass micro-stylus with a nominal tip ball diameter of 52.6 μm was oscillated by a tuning fork quartz crystal resonator with its oscillation direction parallel to the measurement surfaces. An on-line qualification setup was established to compensate for the influences of the uncertainty sources, including the water layers on the measurement surfaces. The measurement uncertainty of the measured gap width was estimated to be less than 100 nm.  相似文献

A compact and inexpensive iodine-stabilized diode laser system with an output at 531 nm has been applied to long gauge block measurements. Although the optical frequency of the output beam was widely modulated (modulation width of ∼22 MHz), the coherence length and interference phase stability are sufficiently long and high, respectively, for the interferometric measurement of long gauge blocks of up to 1000 mm in length. The effective uncertainty of laser frequency in the interferometric measurement was theoretically and experimentally confirmed to be less than 10−9.  相似文献

With recent development in advanced manufacturing, demand for nanometric accuracy in dimensional metrology has increased dramatically. To satisfy these requirements, we propose a high-accuracy micro-roundness measuring machine (micro-RMM) using a multi-beam angle sensor (MBAS). The micro-RMM includes three main parts: the MBAS, a rotary unit, and a bearing system. The MBAS has been designed and established in order to improve motion accuracy of the micro-RMM. The dimensions of the MBAS are 125(L) mm × 130(W) mm × 90(H) mm. Compared with other methods, an MBAS is less susceptible to spindle error (stage-independence) when detecting angles, can maintain high sensitivity with miniaturized size, and can be used conveniently at the factory level. The optical probe, reported in this paper, is based on the principle of an autocollimator, and the stability is improved when using the MBAS. Unlike multi-probe methods, the micro-RMM is constructed to realize roundness measurement by using only one probe, which is less susceptible to instrumental errors. Experimental results confirming the feasibility of the multi-beam angle sensor for roundness measurement are also presented.  相似文献

A simplified technique using short term Fourier transform to reduce the errors in distributed temperature measurement with a Raman scattering based optical fiber sensor system is presented. The two main sources of errors are differential attenuation to anti-Stokes and Stokes signal by fiber and local change in Stokes due to change in temperature. The proposed technique compensates these errors and extracts correct temperature profile in spite of practical difficulties encountered in applying the theoretical concept. Moreover proposed technique is less complex, self-reliant, can tolerate variation in laser power, requires less dead zone and suits automation using embedded solution. Results of measurement carried out, using the system developed at RRCAT, Indore, for two hot zones having spatial width of 1.9 m (kept at 56 °C) and 1.5 m (kept at 78 °C), located at 47 m and 85 m respectively, show that these parameters can be recovered with significantly small errors.  相似文献

A silicon-based micro-machined, floating element sensor for wall shear-stress measurement has been developed. Sensor with the dimension of 4×3×0.5 mm3 has been fabricated by inductively coupled plasma (ICP) etching techniques with single mask. An optical system was designed to identify whether there is defect in the structure of the fabricated sensor. Detection of the floating element motion induced by shear stress of fluid is accomplished using differential capacitance measurement. A special package was used to reduce the parasitic capacitance and realize flush mounted between the sensor and the wall. Calibration tests were carried out in a laminar flow channel; the result indicates that the sensitivity of the sensor is measured to be 27 mv/Pa. The measured non-linearity is less than 3.4% while the repeatability is within 4.9% in the regime of 0–35 Pa.  相似文献

A deadweight-type torque standard machine of 20 kN m rated capacity (20 kN m-DWTSM) has been designed and developed by the National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ) at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). Each uncertainty contribution comes mainly from the performance of each mechanical part of the 20 kN m-DWTSM. Authors evaluated the uncertainty of the mass of the linkage weights, local acceleration of gravity, influence of air buoyancy on deadweight loading, initial moment-arm length (including CMM measurement and temperature compensation), and sensitivity of the fulcrum. This report deals especially with evaluation of the remaining contributions, namely the influence of arm flexure and reference line variation at the end of the moment-arm on best measurement capability (BMC). Estimation of BMC in the 20 kN m-DWTSM gave a relative expanded uncertainty of less than 7.0 · 10−5 (k = 2) for the calibration range from 200 N m to 20 kN m.  相似文献

Roughness of disk media influences the tribological interaction of head-disk interfaces, especially when the intended flying-height is below 5 nm that is required to achieve extremely high-density recording (EHDR). Roughness parameters such as the root-mean-square (RMS) amplitude, however, are influenced by the scale of measurement, such as the scan size. Effects related to scale of measurement such as varying the scan size were investigated and means to reduce such effects were proposed by establishing an “ad hoc” digital filtering procedure. Two types of magnetic disks intended for EHDR were measured by an atomic force microscope (AFM) at various scan dimensions ranging from 0.5 μm × 0.5 μm to 112 μm × 112 μm. The proposed filtering method used the RMS values as a filter design parameter for choosing the appropriate high-pass cutoff wavelength for each scan size. The study revealed the existence of a unique cutoff wavelength that would identify different wavelength regimes and the associated critical scan size in each disk. To substantiate the effectiveness of the proposed filtering method in reducing the scale of measurement effects related to the scan size, other roughness parameters were also calculated subsequent to the filtering procedure. It was found that the proposed filtering scheme effectively reduced the scale of measurement effects in the amplitude parameters (e.g., RMS and the ten-point height variation) and the functional parameters (e.g., material and core void volumes). These parameters exhibited steady-state trends with respect to increasing scan size, indicating reduced scale of measurement effects.  相似文献

The multi-wavelength fiber sensor for measuring surface roughness and surface scattering characteristics were investigated. In this paper, specimens with different surface roughness were analyzed by using 650 nm, 1310 nm and 1550 nm laser as the light source, respectively. The working distance of 2 mm was chosen as the optimum measurement distance. The experimental results indicate that multi-wavelength fiber sensor can accurately measure surface roughness, and can effectively reduce the unsystematic error. The light scattering intensity ratio has a good linear relationship with the surface roughness. The minimum relative error of the surface roughness is 2.92%, the maximum relative error is 13.4%, and the average relative error is about 7.48%. The accuracy for measuring surface roughness by multi-wavelength fiber sensor is about twice as large as that by single-wavelength fiber sensor.  相似文献
