High-T c superconductors have critical currents that decay sharply with increasing magnetic field. We solve Bean's model forJ c decaying exponentially withH and obtain qualitative agreement with existing magnetization data. We show thatH c1 cannot be obtained from the linear part of the magnetization curve; it can only be inferred from a low-field anomaly in the hysteresis curve. Presently quoted values ofH c1 ,based on the linear part of the magnetization curve, are gross overestimates.  相似文献

We report measurements of the r.f. surface resistance of a wide variety of high-T c superconductors in bulk form and as films on silver substrates. Several apparatuses have been constructed and used for measurements at frequencies from 0.15 to 40 GHz and r.f. surface magnetic fields as high as 640 G. In every case in which the field dependence of the surface resistance was measured, the surface resistance increased monotonically with field amplitude through a transition region characterized by a strong field dependence. It then saturated at high field at a value of a few percent of the normal-state surface resistance just aboveT c . In the presence of this field dependence, the frequency dependence of the surface resistance changed from quadratic to less than linear.  相似文献

We have shown in this paper that members of the Tl-Ba-Ca-Cu-O and Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O superconducting families fabricated so far are built up of superconductor-semiconductor arrays. Four general homologous series are written down for these two families. The basic fundamental block in each series is itself a superconductor. We suggest that the Y-Ba-Cu-O family has a similar characteristic if YBaCu2O5-d is a superconductor.  相似文献

There is anisotropy in theab-plane optical properties of the high-temperature superconductors, both in the normal state and in the superconducting state. In both states, two components appear in the optical conductivity: a free carrier part and a midinfrared component. BelowT c , the free carriers form the superconducting condensate. In YBa2Cu3O7–, the anisotropy of the penetration depth shows that the chains contribute strongly to this superfluid. In Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8, where chains are absent, there is stillab plane anisotropy. BelowT c a finite absorption parallelb remains at frequencies as small as 20 meV. This anisotropy could be due to anisotropy either of the superconducting gap or the midinfrared component.  相似文献

The critical currents and normal resistances of the small bridges from yttrium-based high-T c superconducting ceramics have been measured. The characteristic voltage of these bridges was found to be approximately 20 V. This effect can be explained if, between the ceramic grains, there are contacts of an order of one crystalline cell in size.The authors are grateful to V. N. Subsequent to our observation that the Tl- and Bi-based cuprate high-T c superconductors are built of superconductor-semiconductor arrays (P. C. W. Fung and W. Y. Kwok,J. Superconduct., this issue), we investigate in this paper the possibility ofT c enhancement arising from the effect of change of phonon spectrum and the effect of size quantization when one or more semiconductor blocks is attached to the basic superconductor in the unit cell.  相似文献

Equilibrium and small oscillations in the system of high-T c superconductor (SC) and permanent magnet (PM) are considered. A phenomenological theory based on the observed magnetization curves for SC is given. The measured forces and oscillation frequencies in the system of YBa2Cu3O7 superconductor and SmCo5 permanent magnet are compared with the theoretical predictions. Conclusions are made as to the possible applications for studying the SC properties of materials.  相似文献

We review the specific heat measurements on La2CuO4, La2–xMxCuO4 (M = Ca, Sr, and Ba), YBa2Cu3O7, and the Bi-Ca-Sr-Cu-O and Tl-Ca-Ba-Cu-O systems. Tables of properties derived from the data are presented. Results on RBa2Cu3O7 (R=rare earth elements other than Y) are summarized, as are results on YBa2(Cu3–xMx)O7 (M=Zn, Cr, Fe, or Ni). The difficulties of analyzing the specific heat data, and specifically the separation of the contributions associated with magnetic impurities, are discussed. It is tentatively concluded that the data nearT c are consistent with BCS theory, although they show evidence of fluctuation effects. It is also concluded that the low-temperature zero-field data on a majority of the high-T c oxide superconductors provide evidence of anintrinsic term that is proportional toT, a result that is inconsistent with a gap in the electronic density of states.  相似文献

We have found a notorious hysteretic behavior in the dependence of the zero-resistance critical temperature obtained through resistivity () versus temperature (T) measurements with applied field (H e ) in High-T c granular superconductors. This behavior is explained semi-quantitatively based on the analogy between the present observation and a similar hysteresis found in the field dependence of the transport critical current in these materials.  相似文献

High permeability ring-shaped mu metal sheets have been used to enhance magnetic fields in the bore of Bi-based high-T c superconducting coils. The central magnetic fieldB 0, generated by pancake coils placed between mu metal sheets, was measured at liquid nitrogen temperature 77 K. The increasing rate (IR) of the central magnetic fieldB 0 for single pancake coils was from 15 to 63% by using a 0.1 mm thick mu metal sheet. IR was decreased when the originalB 0 value increased. The thickness of mu metal sheets also affected IR. It was found that IR increased as the number of mu metal sheets was increased. In a test double-pancake coil IR reached 101%,B 0 was enhanced from 902 to 1815 G, when the total thickness of mu metal sheets on the top and bottom surface of the coil was 2.0 mm. These results indicate that the well-designed high-permeability materials can significantly enhance the magnetic fields generated by high-T c superconducting coils and magnets.  相似文献

We studied the effect of Bi/Pb ratio and annealing temperature onT c and formation of the high-T c ; phase in Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O superconductor by the three-step reaction process. The optimum Bi/Pb ratio is about 1.80.3 and the optimum annealing temperature is about 845–855°C. It is found that a variate high-T c phase existed at the higher annealing temperature. The zero-resistance temperature of the variate high-T c phase decreased when the annealing temperature increased, although the phase is isostructural with the 110 K phase.  相似文献

Complete integration of high-T c thin-film superconducting technology with other electronic technologies requires hybrid structures with both technologies on the same substrate. This is difficult to do with direct growth of the superconductor on certain substrates (GaAs, InP) because of the high temperatures required for formation of the superconductor. A method is proposed to circumvent this problem by using electrostatic forces and appropriate thin-film materials to bond superconducting films to any substrate at 300°C. The same principle can be applied to the bonding of other devices on other substrates.  相似文献

The temperature dependence of the critical current density at high temperatures and in weak applied magnetic field for YBa2Cu3O7–y ceramic samples with a pronounced granular character is analyzed. The experimental results can be explained in terms of thermally activated motion of the intergrain Josephson vortices at grain boundaries, which may be an indication that the actual limiting factor for the critical current density in ceramic samples results from a weak pinning force density for the intergrain vortices rather than from the weak-link quenching.  相似文献

Calculations of the Eliashberg function 2F and the corresponding transport function tr 2 F for high-T c oxides are presented using a screened ionic model (rigidly shifted ionic potentials screened by charge carriers in the CuO2 planes within the RPA) for the electron-phonon coupling. It is shown that this model yields a large difference between the transport and the superconducting electron-phonon interaction due to imperfect screening and contributions beyond nearest-neighbor interactions. Using these results, the electron and the lattice heat conductivities are calculated both in the normal and the superconducting state and compared with experiment. Finally, effects due to a strong on-site electron-electron repulsion are included in leading order in an 1/N expansion, whereN is the number of spin degrees of freedom. In particular, it is shown for the infiniteU, one-band Hubbard model that correlations tend to suppress tr 2 F strongly and 2 F somewhat.The author thanks M. We have investigated the 9- and 10-GHz microwave properties of bulk samples of strontium and barium substituted La2CuO4 and YBa2Cu3O7 and one YBa2Cu3O7 MBE film on SrTiO3. Anomalous microwave absorption is seen especially for poorly compacted bulk ceramic samples. Transitions were generally broadened nearT c and the residual losses were high. The real part of the surface impedance could be fit belowT c to the empirical equation with an added term linear in temperature. The microwave response of the film was masked by paraelectric absorption and acoustic resonances in the substrate.  相似文献

A transport current measurement technique suitable for the technological development of hightemperature superconducting tapes has been designed. The main advantage of the technique presented is in the application of non-soldered current and voltage contacts which allows measurement of the same element of superconducting tape at different technological states (roll-sinter or press-sinter step). Voltage-current characteristics can be measured in self field as well as in external magnetic field at 77 K or 4.2 K and at different field orientations. The technique capabilities are demonstrated by presenting Ic data obtained from Bi(2223)/Ag tape.  相似文献

The effect of superconducting order parameter fluctuations on the nuclear-spin relaxation rate, 1/T 1, is studied for clean two-dimensional systems by calculating the three Maki-Thomson-type diagrams which represent the lowest-order fluctuation contributions to the transverse susceptibility. For Gaussian fluctuations and for temperatures near the mean field transition temperature,T c0, we employ a weak-coupling theory in which the pair-fluctuation propagator can also include pair-breaking effects. We also go beyond the Gaussian theory and take into account the interactions between Cooper-pair fluctuations corresponding to the fourth-order Ginzburg-Landau fluctuation terms. We compare our results with previous results in the dirty limit and in 3D. We obtain a pronounced peak in 1/T1 atT c and briefly discuss possible reasons why this peak is not observed.  相似文献

The effect of disorder and magnetic correlations is considered in connection with the occurrence of the superconducting state. The effect of disorder can reduce the pair-weakening parameter. The Coulomb pseudopotential is strongly dependent on disorder and decreases drastically the critical temperature.
