The city planner, in playing his role, engages in a social process which can be analyzed in terms of a planning role, a client role, and a community decision network—all interacting around a public agenda. In the conceptual framework presented here, the planner is viewed as having a primary relationship with his client group, whom he must first motivate. Then, together, the planner-client team must relate to the larger community network, which they attempt to move. Both sets of relationships are affected by role postures, situational factors, and environmental conditions. This analysis suggests that traditional notions of the planner's role are too narrowly focused on substantive methodologies which imply highly simplistic assumptions about the social setting for planning. 相似文献

Every downtown plan recognizes the role of the pedestrian and the importance of pedestrian activity. Most plans call for special amenities such as pedestrian malls, underpasses, plazas, and arcades. Treatment of the subject has been generally subjective, based on planners' intuitions and accepted planning theory. Here the evaluation of pedestrian movements in downtown areas suggests means of measuring and projecting pedestrian traffic flow. 相似文献

The early development of modern physical planning as a separate profession in the United States coincides with the reform period in our political history known as the “progressive era.” Both phenomena were new attempts at dealing with a changed condition-the emergence of America as a culture whose traditional lifeways had become increasingly depersonal, thoroughly industrialized, and predominantly urban. Of the planners, few seem to have been better prepared to deal with the demands of a rapidly changing order than John Nolen, whose background prior to his first major works in 1909 exemplifies that mixture of ongoing attitudes and innovations necessary to meet changing cultural conditions. 相似文献

规划师的角色由规划实践所承担的社会活动决定。回顾西方规划师角色的演变过程可以发现,社会对规划师的素养要求随着时代演进而叠加。研究通过对英美规划师职业操守守则、高等规划教育体系的综合分析,讨论了西方规划师的三种核心职业素养的内涵及其培养重点,包括价值观、知识和技能。在此基础上,研究分析我国所处的历史阶段、城镇化所面临的新形势,提出我国规划师应从空间形态设计师走向协调型设计师,从技术型专家走向专家型社会工作者的两种角色转变趋势,同时提出了对我国未来规划师的价值观、知识和技能等核心素养的要求。 相似文献
