Many practical systems in physics, biology, engineering, and information science exhibit impulsive dynamical behaviors due to abrupt changes at certain instants during the dynamical processes. This note first introduces the impulsive behavior into switched linear systems and studies the controllability and observability of such systems. Necessary and sufficient criteria for reachability and controllability are established. It is proved that reachability is equivalent to controllability for such systems. Then, necessary and sufficient criteria for observability and determinability of such systems are established by duality. It is also proved that observability is equivalent to determinability. Our criteria are of geometric type, they can be transformed into algebraic form conveniently. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the utility of our criteria.  相似文献

Reachability and observability properties of linear switched, impulsive, and switched/impulsive systems have received a great deal of attention over the past decade. The purpose of this paper is to rigorously establish a duality between reachability and observability for linear impulsive systems both in direct system‐theoretic terms as well as in geometric terms. These connections are established using an appropriately defined adjoint system associated with the original impulsive system. The duality between reachability and observability is then used to leverage recent reachability results in order to tighten the relationship between the set of unobservable states and a certain invariant subspace.  相似文献

Hamiltonian realizations of nonlinear adjoint operators   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
This paper addresses the issue of state-space realizations for nonlinear adjoint operators. In particular, the relationships between nonlinear Hilbert adjoint operators, Hamiltonian extensions and port-controlled Hamiltonian systems are established. Then, characterizations of the adjoints of controllability, observability and Hankel operators are derived from this analysis. The state-space realizations of such adjoint operators provide new insights on singular value analysis and duality issues in nonlinear control systems theory. Finally, a duality between the controllability and observability energy functions is proved.  相似文献

A necessary condition and a sufficient condition for observability of SLS systems are given. It is shown that the observability and controllability are dual for some special SLS systems with circulatory switching laws. A sequential derivation of the reachability matrix is given, related to graph theoretic considerations, and earlier results on the structural inverse of a matrix are reformulated on the basis of an observed duality. A relationship between a matrix, a full rank permutation matrix included in it and its reachability matrix are given, as well as a property of the reachability matrix of a product. A hypothesis on the reachability matrix, stating that it is ‘its own inverse’ and relating to the structural modal matrix, is confirmed and the reachability and the acyclic input-output reachable partitions of dynamic systems are discussed; forms relating them to structural controllability, structural observability and structural transfer function matrices are presented.  相似文献

In this paper, the reachability and observability criteria of switched linear systems with continuous-time and discrete-time subsystems are obtained. These criteria show that the reachable set may not be a subspace in the state space, because of the existence of discrete-time subsystems. Therefore, the definition of span reachability is proposed. Moreover, we demonstrate that the reachable set is equivalent to subspace if the discrete-time subsystems are reversible. The subspace algorithms for span reachability and unobservability are provided. One example is introduced to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed criteria.  相似文献

Differential‐algebraic equation (DAE) systems present a number of difficult problems in nonlinear simulation and control. One of the key difficulties is that DAEs are not expressed in an explicit state space form required by many simulation and control design methods. In this paper, the problem is addressed using a new approach that constructs an explicit state space approximation of the DAEs using a sliding controller. The state space model can in turn be used with existing nonlinear control and simulation methods. This procedure, known as realization, is achieved by developing a boundary layer sliding controller with a dynamic sliding manifold. The approach builds on previous realization methods proposed by the author that employ a static sliding control surface. The approach is generalized by employing a dynamic sliding manifold which allows much greater freedom in determining optimality, robustness, and convergence of the realization than previous methods allow. The necessary criteria for key properties such as convergence, stability, and controllability of this new method are proven using a special type of sliding normal form. Furthermore, the important property of observability for sliding realizations is established for the first time by analyzing the convergence of local eigenvectors of the approximation. Together these results establish a new general framework for realization of a large class of nonlinear high index DAE systems.  相似文献

This paper studies the construction of switching sequences for reachability realization of switched impulsive control systems. An approach is proposed to design switching sequences so that the reachable subspace of switched impulsive control systems is expressed in terms of the reachable state sets of the designed switching sequences. For a class of switched impulsive control systems, it is proved that a single switching sequence can be designed with its reachable state set coinciding with the reachable subspace. Periodic switching sequences are also constructed in this paper for the reachability realization problem. The results present a new way to exploit the switching mechanism to achieve the reachability and controllability of switched impulsive control systems. This paper shows how to give a Kalman state variable realization to generalized linear systems. Simple characterizations of controllability, observability, of their duality and of a minimal realization are proposed. Our techniques, based on elementary module theory, are applicable to time-varying systems as well as constant systems. This article studies the controllability and observability of discrete-time linear time-delay systems, so that the two properties can play a more fundamental role in system analysis before controller and observer design is engaged. Complete definitions of controllability and observability, which imply the stabilisability and detectability, respectively, and determine the feasibility of eigenvalue assignment, are proposed for systems with delays in both state variables and input/output signals. Necessary and sufficient criteria are developed to check the controllability and observability efficiently. The proofs are based on the equivalent expanded system, but the criteria only involve the delays and matrices of the same dimension as the original system. Finally, the duality between the suggested controllability and observability is presented.  相似文献

One of the key problems in the safety analysis of control systems is the exact computation of reachable state spaces for continuous-time systems. Issues related to the controllability and observability of these systems are well-studied in systems theory. However, there are not many results on reachability, even for general linear systems. In this study, we present a large class of linear systems with decidable reachable state spaces. This is approached by reducing the reachability analysis to real root isolation of exponential polynomials. Furthermore, we have implemented this method in a Maple package based on symbolic computation and applied to several examples successfully.  相似文献

The problem of exact observability is analyzed for a wide class of neutral type systems by an infinite dimensional approach. The duality with the exact controllability problem is the main tool. It is based on an explicit expression of a neutral type system which corresponding to the abstract adjoint system. A nontrivial relation is obtained between the initial neutral system and the system obtained via the adjoint abstract state operator. The characterization of the duality between controllability and observability is deduced, and then observability conditions are obtained.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the controllability and observability for linear time‐varying switched impulsive systems. First, some new results about the variation of parameters for time‐varying switched impulsive systems are derived. Then less conservative sufficient conditions and necessary conditions for state controllability and observability of such systems are established. And for such system without impulsive control input, sufficient and necessary conditions for controllability and observability are derived. Furthermore, corresponding criteria applied to time‐varying impulsive systems are also discussed and examples are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed results.
