Arc welding is one of the most important areas of application for industrial robots. In most manufacturing situations, uncertainties in dimensions of the part, geometry of the joint, and the welding process itself make the use of sensors essential to maintaining weld quality. In this paper three types of control systems for arc welding robots are described: (1) tracking systems for centering the weld puddle over the joint, (2) weld process controls for maintaining proper seam width and penetration, and (3) supervisory controls for sequencing welding operations. These control functions have been implemented successfully in production using a computer vision sensor integrated into the welding torch. Experimental results are presented demonstrating the capabilities of the system. 相似文献

The present work is concerned with the design and experimental testing of fuzzy algorithms for the on-line control of a few processes: temperature of a methyl methacrylate batch polymerization reactor, evaporating and condensing temperatures of a refrigeration system and the overhead composition of a batch distillation column. PID-fuzzy algorithms were developed and compared to conventional PID controllers, proving to be more suitable and reliable for the polymerization process. For the batch distillation column, fuzzy control reduced the batch time and the energy consumption. The PID-fuzzy also outperformed the conventional PID in terms of energy savings for the refrigeration system. 相似文献

A highly accurate and widely applicable tracking control system which guides a welding torch along a joint line is described. The control system includes a servomechanism, a solid-state image sensor, and an image processor. The solid-state image sensor detects the cross-sectional pattern of the welding groove with a He-Ne gas laser. The image processor, consisting mainly of a microcomputer, processes video information and estimates the position of the welding groove center using a statistical technique. This method of tracking control has been employed in the welding apparatus for penstocks with good practical results. 相似文献

In this paper, a probabilistic fuzzy logic system (PFLS) is proposed for the modeling and control problems. Similar to the ordinary fuzzy logic system (FLS), the PFLS consists of the fuzzification, inference engine and defuzzification operation to process the fuzzy information. Different to the FLS, it uses the probabilistic modeling method to improve the stochastic modeling capability. By using a three-dimensional membership function (MF), the PFLS is able to handle the effect of random noise and stochastic uncertainties existing in the process. A unique defuzzification method is proposed to simplify the complex operation. Finally, the proposed PFLS is applied to a function approximation problem and a robotic system. It shows a better performance than an ordinary FLS in stochastic circumstance. 相似文献

Sliding mode-like fuzzy logic control (SMFC) algorithm for nonlinear systems is presented in this paper. Firstly dead zone parameters of sliding mode control (SMC) are selftuned by proper adaptive laws and then combined into fuzzy logic system (FLS) to compose the opportune fuzzy logic control (FLC), which is equivalent to the predesigned SMC controller with self-tuning parameters. Robustness and invariance to the uncertainties of the closed-loop systems are improved and chattering of the SMC is eliminated. Although a fuzzy logic controller is generally nonlinear, a PI-type fuzzy controller that uses only control error and change in control error is not able to detect the process nonlinearity and make a control move accordingly. In this paper, a multiregion fuzzy logic controller is proposed for nonlinear process control. Based on prior knowledge, the process to be controlled is divided into fuzzy regions such as high-gain, low-gain, large-time-constant, and small-time-constant. Then a fuzzy controller is designed based on the regional information. Using an auxiliary process variable to detect the process operating regions, the resulting multiregion fuzzy logic controller can give satisfactory performance in all regions. A major cause of freeway congestion before the traffic density becomes critical is the shock wave due to the speed differences between consecutive vehicles. Such disturbance can be reduced if we can impose homogeneous speed control on the vehicles. In this paper, a two-level model-free control scheme using neural-network-based fuzzy logic controllers is proposed which regulates the speed of the freeway through speed advisory boards. Using information from both measurement data and expert knowledge (e.g., environmental information and psychological factors), it is expected that this controller will outperform the conventional ones. 相似文献

结合滑模控制和神经网络各自的优点,对永磁同步电机(PMSM)提出了一种基于神经网络的PMSM自适应滑模控制方案.首先设计了带积分操作的滑模变结构位置控制器,通过递归神经网络的在线学习来实时估计系统参数变化和外部负载扰动等不确定性的界限,减小滑模控制器的控制量.进而,在滑模控制器中又引入饱和函数取代符号函数,进一步减弱"抖振"现象.理论分析和实验仿真对比研究的结果表明所提出方法具有优越的动态性能和鲁棒性. 相似文献

Quasi-keyhole is a novel approach proposed to operate the keyhole arc welding process. Because the method's effectiveness depends on the amperage of the peak current used to establish the keyhole, this paper proposes adjusting the amperage based on the duration of the peak current, which equals the keyhole establishment time. A nominal model structure has been selected from those identified using experimental data and been used in the design of an adaptive predictive control system.
