Core–shell structure carbon coating Fe3O4 nanoparticles are prepared by a two-step method. The crystalline structure and the electrochemical performance of the prepared samples are investigated. The results indicate that a uniform and continuous carbon layer is formed on the surface of Fe3O4 nanoparticles. The core–shell structure Fe3O4/C nanoparticles show a high initial discharge capacity of 1546 mAh g−1 and a specific stable discharge capacity of about 800 mAh g−1 at 0.5 C with no noticeable capacity fading up to 100 cycles.  相似文献

LiCoxMn1−xPO4/C nanocomposites (0 ≤ x ≤ 1.0) were prepared by a combination of spray pyrolysis at 300 °C and wet ball-milling followed by heat treatment at 500 °C for 4 h in 3% H2 + N2 atmosphere. X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that all samples had the single phase olivine structures indexed by orthorhombic Pmna. The lattice parameters linearly decreased with increasing cobalt content, which confirmed the existence of solid solutions. It was clearly seen from the scanning electron microscopy observation that the LiCoxMn1−xPO4/C samples were agglomerates with approximately 100 nm primary particles. The LiCoxMn1−xPO4/C nanocomposites were used as cathode materials for lithium batteries, and electrochemical performance was comparatively investigated with cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge–discharge test using the Li?1 M LiPF6 in EC:DMC = 1:1?LiCoxMn1−xPO4/C cells at room temperature. The cells at 0.05 C charge–discharge rate delivered first discharge capacities of 165 mAh g−1 (96% of theoretical capacity) at x = 0, 136 mAh g−1 at x = 0.2, 132 mAh g−1 at x = 0.5, 125 mAh g−1 at x = 0.8 and 132 mAh g−1 (79% of theoretical capacity) at x = 1.0, respectively. While the first discharge capacity increased with the cobalt content at high charge–discharge rates more than 0.5 C due to higher electronic conductivity of LiCoPO4 in comparison with LiMnPO4, the cycleability of cell became worse with increasing the amount of cobalt. The existence of Mn2+ seemed to enhance the cycleability of LiCoxMn1−xPO4/C nanocomposite cathode.  相似文献

Li4Ti5O12/C composites were synthesized by one-step solid-state reaction method using four commonly used organic compounds or organic polymers as carbon source, i.e., polyacrylate acid (PAA), citric acid (CA), maleic acid (MA) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). The physical characteristics of Li4Ti5O12/C composites were investigated by X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, particle size distribution and thermogravimetry-derivative thermogravimetry techniques. Their electrochemical properties were characterized by cyclic voltammograms, electrochemical impedance spectra, constant current charge–discharge and rate charge–discharge. These analyses indicated that the carbon source and carbon content have a great effect on the physical and electrochemical performances of Li4Ti5O12/C composites. An ideal carbon source and appropriate carbon content effectively improved the electrical contact between the Li4Ti5O12 particles, which enhanced the discharge capacity and rate capability of Li4Ti5O12/C composites. PAA was the best carbon source for the synthesis of Li4Ti5O12/C composites. When the carbon content was 3.49 wt.% (LiOH·H2O/PAA molar ratio of 1), as-prepared Li4Ti5O12/C showed the maximum discharge capacity. At 0.2 C, initial capacity of the optimized sample was 168.6 mAh g−1 with capacity loss of 2.8% after 50 cycles. At 8 and 10 C, it showed discharge capacities of 143.5 and 132.7 mAh g−1, with capacity loss of 8.7 and 9.9% after 50 cycles, respectively.  相似文献

Li2FeSiO4/carbon/carbon nano-tubes (Li2FeSiO4/C/CNTs) and Li2FeSiO4/carbon (Li2FeSiO4/C) composites were synthesized by a traditional solid-state reaction method and characterized comparatively by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, BET surface area measurement, galvanostatic charge-discharge and AC impedance spectroscopy, respectively. The results revealed that the Li2FeSiO4/C/CNT composite exhibited much better rate performance in comparison with the Li2FeSiO4/C composite. At 0.2 C, 5 C and 10 C, the former composite electrode delivered a discharge capacity of 142 mAh g−1, 95 mAh g−1, 80 mAh g−1, respectively, and after 100 cycles at 1 C, the discharge capacity remained 95.1% of its initial value.  相似文献

Single crystalline cubic spinel LiMn2O4 nanowires were synthesized by hydrothermal method and the precursor calcinations. The phase structures and morphologies were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). Galvanostatic charging/discharging cycles of as-prepared LiMn2O4 nanowires were performed in an aqueous LiNO3 solution. The initial discharge capacity of LiMn2O4 nanowires was 110 mAh g−1, and the discharge capacity was still above 100 mAh g−1 after 56 cycles at 10C-rate, and then 72 mAh g−1 was registered after 130 cycles. This is the first report of a successful use of single crystalline spinel LiMn2O4 nanowire as cathode material for the aqueous rechargeable lithium battery (ARLB).  相似文献

A nano-LiFePO4/C composite has been directly synthesized from micrometer-sized Li2CO3, NH4H2PO4, and FeC2O4·2H2O by the lauric acid-assisted solid-state reaction method. The SEM and TEM observations demonstrate that the synthesized nano-LiFePO4/C composite has well-dispersed particles with a size of about 100–200 nm and an in situ carbon layer with thickness of about 2 nm. The prepared nano-LiFePO4/C composite has superior rate capability, delivering a discharge capacity of 141.2 mAh g−1 at 5 °C, 130.9 mAh g−1 at 10 C, 121.7 mAh g−1 at 20 °C, and 112.4 mAh g−1 at 30 °C. At −20 °C, this cathode material still exhibits good rate capability with a discharge capacity of 91.9 mAh g−1 at 1 °C. The nano-LiFePO4/C composite also shows excellent cycling ability with good capacity retention, up to 100 cycles at a high current density of 30 °C. Furthermore, the effect of lauric acid in the preparation of nano-LiFePO4/C composite was investigated by comparing it with that of citric acid. The SEM images reveal that the morphology of the LiFePO4/C composite transformed from the porous structure to fine particles as the molar ratio of lauric acid/citric acid increased.  相似文献

Li0.5Ni0.25TiOPO4/C composite was synthesized by the co-precipitation method using polyethylene glycol as carbon source. X-ray diffraction study showed that the as-prepared material crystallizes in the monoclinic system (S.G. P21/c). This 3D structure exhibits an open framework favourable to intercalation reactions. The morphology and the microstructure characterisation was performed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Small particles (∼1 μm) coated by carbon were observed. Raman study confirms the presence of carbon graphite in the Li0.5Ni0.25TiOPO4/C composite. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and charge-discharge galvanostatic cycling were used to characterize its electrochemical properties. The Li0.5Ni0.25TiOPO4/C composite exhibits excellent electrochemical performances with good capacity retention for 50 cycles. Approximately 200 mAh/g could be reached at C, C/2, C/5 and C/20 rates in the 0.5-3 V potential range. These results clearly evidenced the positive effect of the carbon coating on the electrochemical properties of the studied phosphate.  相似文献

In this work, bare and Ta-substituted Nb2O5 nanofibers are prepared by electrospinning followed by sintering at temperatures in the 800–1100 °C range for 1 h in air. Obtained bare and Ta-substituted Nb2O5 polymorphs are characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, density measurement, and Brunauer, Emmett and Teller surface area. Electrochemical properties are evaluated by cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic techniques. Cycling performance of Nb2O5 structures prepared at temperature 800 °C, 900 °C, and 1100 °C shows following discharge capacity at the end of 10th cycle: 123, 140, and 164 (±3) mAh g−1, respectively, in the voltage range 1.2–3.0 V and at current rate of 150 mA g−1 (1.5 C rate). Heat treated composite electrode based on M-Nb2O5 (1100 °C) in argon atmosphere at 220 °C, shows an improved discharge capacity of 192 (±3) mAh g−1 at the end of 10th cycle. The discharge capacity of Ta-substituted Nb2O5 prepared at 900 °C and 1100 °C showed a reversible capacity of 150, 202 (±3) mAh g−1, respectively, in the voltage range 1.2–3.0 V and at current rate of 150 mA g−1. Anodic electrochemical properties of M-Nb2O5 deliver a reversible capacity of 382 (±5) mAh g−1 at the end of 25th cycle and Ta-substituted Nb2O5 prepared at 900 °C, 1000 °C and 1100 °C shows a reversible capacity of 205, 130 and 200 (±3) mAh g−1 (at 25th cycle) in the range, 0.005–2.6 V, at current rate of 100 mA g−1.  相似文献

In this work, LiFePO4/C composites were prepared in hydrothermal system by using iron gluconate as iron source, and two feeding sequences during the preparation were comparatively studied. The morphology, crystal structure and charge–discharge performance of the prepared samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and galvanostatic charge–discharge testing. The results showed that the feeding sequences and iron gluconate seriously affected the microstructures and electrochemical properties of the resulting LiFePO4 cathodes in lithium ion batteries. The spindle-shaped LiFePO4 with hierarchical microporous structure self-assembled by nanoparticles has been successfully synthesized by synthesis route B. In addition, the cell performance of the synthesized LiFePO4 by synthesis route B was better than that of LiFePO4 by synthesis route A. Specially at high rates, the superior rate performance of the spindle-shaped LiFePO4/C microstructure (LFP/C-B) was revealed. And special reversible capacities of ∼118 and ∼95 mAh g−1 were obtained at rates of 2 C and 5 C, comparing to ∼96 and ∼68 mAh g−1 for LFP/C-A.  相似文献

Sulfolane (also referred to as tetramethylene sulfone, TMS) containing LiPF6 and vinylene carbonate (VC) was tested as a non-flammable electrolyte for a graphite |LiFePO4 lithium-ion battery. Charging/discharging capacity of the LiFePO4 electrode was ca. 150 mAh g−1 (VC content 5 wt%). The capacity of the graphite electrode after 10 cycles establishes at the level of ca. 350 mAh g−1 (C/10 rate). In the case of the full graphite |1 M LiPF6 + TMS + VC 10 wt% |LiFePO4 cell, both charging and discharging capacity (referred to cathode mass) stabilized at a value of ca. 120 mAh g−1. Exchange current density for Li+ reduction on metallic lithium, estimated from electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) experiments, was jo(Li/Li+) = 8.15 × 10−4 A cm−2. Moreover, EIS suggests formation of the solid electrolyte interface (SEI) on lithium, lithiated graphite and LiFePO4 electrodes, protecting them from further corrosion in contact with the liquid electrolyte. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images of pristine electrodes and those taken after electrochemical cycling showed changes which may be interpreted as a result of SEI formation. No graphite exfoliation was observed. The main decomposition peak of the LiPF6 + TMS + VC electrolyte (TG/DTA experiment) was present at ca. 275 °C. The LiFePO4(solid) + 1 M LiPF6 + TMS + 10 wt% VC system shows a flash point of ca. 150 °C. This was much higher in comparison to that characteristic of a classical LiFePO4 (solid) + 1 M LiPF6 + 50 wt% EC + 50 wt% DMC system (Tf ≈ 37 °C).  相似文献

The Li3V2(PO4)3/C cathode materials are synthesized by a simple solid-state reaction process using stearic acid as both reduction agent and carbon source. Scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy observations show that the Li3V2(PO4)3/C composite synthesized at 700 °C has uniform particle size distribution and fine carbon coating. The Li3V2(PO4)3/C shows a high initial discharge capacity of 130.6 and 124.4 mAh g−1 between 3.0 and 4.3 V, and 185.9 and 140.9 mAh g−1 between 3.0 and 4.8 V at 0.1 and 5 C, respectively. Even at a charge–discharge rate of 15 C, the Li3V2(PO4)3/C still can deliver a discharge capacity of 103.3 and 112.1 mAh g−1 in the potential region of 3.0–4.3 V and 3.0–4.8 V, respectively. Based on the analysis of cyclic voltammograms and electrochemical impedance spectra, the apparent diffusion coefficients of Li ions in the composites are in the region of 1.09 × 10−9 and 4.95 × 10−8 cm2 s−1.  相似文献

A gas–liquid interfacial synthesis approach has been developed to prepare SnO2/graphene nanocomposite. The as-prepared nanocomposite was characterized by X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller measurements. Field emission scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy observation revealed the homogeneous distribution of SnO2 nanoparticles (2–6 nm in size) on graphene matrix. The electrochemical performances were evaluated by using coin-type cells versus metallic lithium. The SnO2/graphene nanocomposite prepared by the gas–liquid interface reaction exhibits a high reversible specific capacity of 1304 mAh g−1 at a current density of 100 mA g−1 and excellent rate capability, even at a high current density of 1000 mA g−1, the reversible capacity was still as high as 748 mAh g−1. The electrochemical test results show that the SnO2/graphene nanocomposite prepared by the gas–liquid interfacial synthesis approach is a promising anode material for lithium-ion batteries.  相似文献

Carbon-coated LiFePO4 composites were synthesized by a new method of high-temperature high-energy ball milling (HTHEBM). Fe2O3 and LiH2PO4 were used as raw materials. Glucose, sucrose, citric acid and active carbon were used as reducing agents and carbon sources, respectively. In this method, high-energy ball milling and carbon coating worked together and, therefore, fine and homogeneous LiFePO4/C particles with excellent properties were obtained in a relatively short synthesis time of 9 h. Moreover, the synthesis process could be completely finished at a relatively lower temperature of 600 °C for high-energy ball milling transforming mechanical energy into thermal energy. The results of X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and electrochemical performance tests indicated that carbon source had an important influence on the properties of LiFePO4/C composites synthesized by the HTHEBM method. It was proved that the LiFePO4 composites coated with glucose had the best properties with 1 μm geometric mean diameter and 150.3 mA h g−1 initial discharge capacity at a current rate of 0.1 C. After the 20th cycle test, the reversible capacity was 148 mA h g−1 at 0.1 C, showing a retention ratio to the initial capacity of 98.5%.  相似文献

LiFePO4/C composite cathode materials with carbon nano-interconnect structures were synthesized by one-step solid state reaction using low-cost asphalt as both carbon source and reducing agent. Based on the thermogravimetry, differential scanning calorimetry, transmission electron microscopy and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, a growth model was proposed to illustrate the formation of the carbon nano-interconnect between the LiFePO4 grains. The LiFePO4/C composite shows enhanced discharge capacity (150 mAh g−1) with excellent capacity retention compared with the bare LiFePO4 (41 mAh g−1) due to the electronically conductive nanoscale networking provided by the asphalt-based carbon. The results prove that the asphalt is a perfect carbon source and reduction agent for cost-effective production of high performance LiFePO4/C composite.  相似文献

A cathode material, LiV3O8, for rechargeable lithium-based batteries has been prepared via a combined freeze-drying method and appropriately post-treated in argon atmosphere. It was found that the sample post-treated at 300 °C in Ar has the optimal performance. Electrochemical tests performed on this material demonstrated its very high insertion capacity of 347 mAh g−1 (3.7 Li+ per LiV3O8) at a current density of 50 mA g−1 (C/6). Most important is that it displayed an excellent cycling stability and after 60 cycles, a discharge capacity with 351 mAh g−1 was obtained. It was proposed that a short-range crystallographic order had a stronger influence on the electrochemical performance of an electrode material in this work, instead of the surface area, particle size and crystalline degree, etc.  相似文献

Spherical (Ni0.5Mn0.5)(OH)2 with different secondary particle size (3 μm, 10 μm in diameter) was synthesized by co-precipitation method. Mixture of the prepared hydroxide and lithium hydroxide was calcined at 950 °C for 20 h in air. X-ray diffraction patterns revealed that the prepared material had a typical layered structure with space group. Spherical morphologies with mono-dispersed powders were observed by scanning electron microscopy. It was found that the layered Li[Ni0.5Mn0.5]O2 delivered an initial discharge capacity of 148 mAh g−1 (3.0-4.3 V) though the particle sizes were different. Li[Ni0.5Mn0.5]O2 having smaller particle size (3 μm) showed improved area specific impedance due to the reduced Li+ diffusion path, compared with that of Li[Ni0.5Mn0.5]O2 possessing larger particle size (10 μm). Although the Li[Ni0.5Mn0.5]O2 (3 μm) was electrochemically delithiated to Li0.39[Ni0.5Mn0.5]O2, the resulting exothermic onset temperature was around 295 °C, of which the value is significantly higher than that of highly delithiated Li1−δCoO2 (∼180 °C).  相似文献

Li4Ti4.9V0.1O12 nanometric powders were synthesized via a facile solid-state reaction method under inert atmosphere. XRD analyses demonstrated that the V-ions successfully entered the structure of cubic spinel-type Li4Ti5O12 (LTO), reduced the lattice parameter and no impurities appeared. Compared with the pristine LTO, the electronic conductivity of Li4Ti4.9V0.1O12 powders is as high as 2.9 × 10−1 S cm−1, which should be attributed to the transformation of some Ti3+ from Ti4+ induced by the efficient V-ions doping and the deficient oxygen condition. Meanwhile, the results of XPS and EDS further proved the coexistence of V5+ and Ti3+ ions. This mixed Ti4+/Ti3+ ions can remarkably improve its cycle stability at high discharge–charge rates because of the enhancement of the electronic conductivity. The images of SEM showed that Li4Ti4.9V0.1O12 powders have smaller particles and narrower particle size distribution under 330 nm. And EIS indicates that Li4Ti4.9V0.1O12 has a faster lithium-ion diffusivity than LTO. Between 1.0 and 2.5 V, the electrochemical performance, especially at high rates, is excellent. The discharge capacities are as high as 166 mAh g−1 at 0.5C and 117.3 mAh g−1 at 5C. At the rate of 2C, it exhibits a long-term cyclability, retaining over 97.9% of its initial discharge capacity beyond 1713 cycles. These outstanding electrochemical performances should be ascribed to its nanometric particle size and high conductivity (both electron and lithium ion). Therefore, the as-prepared material is promising for such extensive applications as plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and electric vehicles.  相似文献

Crystalline CuF2 thin films were prepared by pulsed laser deposition under room temperature. The physical and electrochemical properties of the as-deposited thin films have been investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), galvanostatic cycling and cyclic voltammetry (CV). Reversible capacity of 544 mAh g−1 was achieved in the potential range of 1.0–4.0 V. A reversible couple of redox peaks at 3.0 V and 3.7 V was firstly observed. By using ex situ XRD and TEM techniques, an insertion process followed by a fully conversion reaction to Cu and LiF was revealed in the lithium electrochemical reaction of CuF2 thin film electrode. The reversible insertion reaction above 2.8 V could provide a capacity of about 125 mAh g−1, which makes CuF2 a potential cathode material for rechargeable lithium batteries.  相似文献

Conductive carbon has been coated on the surface of LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 cathode material by the carbonization of sucrose for the purpose of improving the rate performance. The effect of carbon coating on the physical and electrochemical properties is discussed through the characterizations of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), cycling and rate tests. Results demonstrate that the carbon coating can greatly enhance the discharge capacity, rate capability and cycling stability of the LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 without degrading the spinel structure. The sample modified with 1 wt.% sucrose displays the best performance. A large capacity of 130 mAh g−1 at 1 C discharge rate with a high retention of 92% after 100 cycles and a stable 114 mAh g−1 at 5 C discharge rate can be delivered. The remarkably improved rate properties of the carbon-coated samples are due to the suppression of the solid electrolyte interfacial (SEI) layer development and faster kinetics of both the Li+ diffusion and the charge transfer reaction.  相似文献

Li[Li0.2Mn0.54Ni0.13Co0.13]O2 as a cathode material for Li-ion battery has been successfully prepared by co-precipitation (CP), sol–gel (SG) and sucrose combustion (SC) methods. The prepared materials were characterized by XRD, SEM, BET and electrochemical measurements. The XRD result shows that the Li[Li0.2Mn0.54Ni0.13Co0.13]O2 materials prepared by different methods all form a pure phase with good crystallinity. SEM images and BET data present that the SC-material exhibited the smallest particle size (ca. 0.1 μm) and the highest surface area (7.4635 m2 g−1). The tap density of SC-material is lower than that of CP- and SG-materials. The result of rate performance tests indicates that the SC-material showed the best rate capability with the highest discharge capacity of 178 mAh g−1 at 5.0 C, followed by SG-material and then CP-material. However, the cycling stability of SC-material tested at 0.1 and 0.5 C is relatively poor as compared to that of SG-material and CP-material. The result of EIS measurements reveals that large surface area and small particle size of the SC-electrode result in more SEI layer formation because of the increased side reactions with the electrolyte during cycling, which deteriorates the electrode/electrolyte interface and thus leads to the faster capacity fading of the SC-material.  相似文献
