An optical system for authentication using a 3D (3D) random phase object with various wavelength readouts is proposed. The 3D phase object without surface modulation is secure when the scattering is strong enough because it prevents from the interferometric measurement. The identification is implemented by the correlation between a measured speckle pattern of the 3D phase object and stored speckle patterns. For accurate identification, two speckle patterns of the 3D object obtained by illuminating two wavelengths are used. Experimental demonstrations and numerical evaluations of wavelength selectivity are presented.  相似文献

The simultaneous quantitative measurement of out-of-plane displacement and slope using the fast Fourier transform method with a single three-aperture digital speckle pattern interferometry (DSPI) arrangement is demonstrated. The method coherently combines two sheared object waves with a smooth reference wave at the CCD placed at the image plane of an imaging lens with a three-aperture mask placed in front of it. The apertures also introduce multiple spatial carrier fringes within the speckle. A fast Fourier transform of the image generates seven distinct diffraction halos in the spectrum. By selecting the appropriate halos, one can directly obtain two independent out-of-plane displacement phase maps and a slope phase map from the two speckle images, one before and the second after loading the object. It is also demonstrated that by subtracting the out-of-plane displacement phase maps one can generate the same slope phase map. Experimental results are presented for a circular diaphragm clamped along the edges and loaded at the center.  相似文献

A scattering-media-characterization method that uses partially coherent radiation and polarization discrimination of multiply scattered light is described. The method is based on an analysis of the dependence of speckle contrast on the coherence length of the probe light. Polarization discrimination of detected speckles makes it possible to select scattered-light components that propagate in the probed medium at different distances. A theoretical analysis of the polarization-dependent speckle contrast as influenced by the probe-light coherence and parameters of the probed medium is presented. Experimental results obtained with various nondiffuse scattering samples are presented.  相似文献

Abstract

The paper is focused on the implemention of phase shift calibration in speckle photography with a view to introducing the possibility of realtime analysis of displacement data obtained by the method. Phase reversal is accomplished by varying pressure within an air-filled quartz cell inserted in the pump beam in a conventional two-beam coupling arrangement. It is shown that phase reversal is achieved when a π-shifted speckle pattern overlaps on an unshifted speckle pattern at the observation plane. This phenomenon is exploited for calibration of the phase shift. Experimental results show good agreement with the theory.  相似文献

A laboratory experiment that demonstrates near-diffraction-limited imaging of a detailed object in the presence of unknown fixed aberrations in the imaging system is described. A random-phase plate is introduced in a pupil plane of the imaging system to eliminate the effect of fixed aberrations in the system. We employ a bispectral speckle imaging technique to recover the object from speckled images affected by both the random-phase fluctuations induced by the random-phase plate and the fixed aberrations present in the imaging system. For the case where the random phase is assumed to obey Gaussian statistics an approximate form of the bispectral speckle transfer function is obtained with an asymptotic expansion. This approximate form of the transfer function shows the diffraction-limited nature of bispectral speckle imaging when the standard deviation of the random-phase fluctuations is of the order of a wavelength of light. Experimental results are presented for fixed aberrations associated with lens tilt and defocus in the imaging system.  相似文献

Experimental results are presented for the angular correlation function of far-field speckle patterns scattered in the double passage of waves through a one-dimensional random-phase screen. The theoretical analysis of the symmetry of speckle patterns around the backscattering direction and the motion of the speckle as the source is moved, made by Escamilla et al. [Appl. Opt. 32, 2734 (1993)], are verified in this paper.  相似文献

A random phase plate is prepared by illuminating a photoresist plate with a fully developed speckle field and using the developed phase plate (DPP) as a diffuser. Wavefront sensing is implemented using phase retrieval based on the recording of speckle intensity patterns at various distances from the DPP and the wave propagation equation. The effects of the roughness height of the DPP on the phase retrieval are investigated. From simulations a roughness height of lambda/10 results in a speckle field that yields good phase reconstruction for the spherical test wavefront incident on the DPP. From the experiments different portions of the DPP that received varying exposures are examined. A section of the phase plate with a characteristic roughness height facilitated the generation of a speckle field that is optimum for the phase retrieval algorithm. Thus a random phase plate with varying roughness height allows optimized measurements of wavefronts with different curvatures. Analytical expressions describing the second-order intensity statistics (fourth-order field statistics) for a field traversing a specific diffuser are presented. This DPP will not give rise to a fully developed speckle field, but knowing the statistics of the depth of the DPP will facilitate a rigorous treatment of the problem.  相似文献

We present an active optical synthetic aperture-imaging system. A phase-step digital holographic setup is used as a wavefront sensor in the far field. The overlap of the holograms enables the estimation and compensation of their relative positions and phase with a speckle cross-correlation algorithm. Experimental results on a short-range synthetic aperture setup at 633 nm are presented that are based on 128 x 128 holograms. The synthesis is executed in one direction by means of rotation of the object. Test images show a significant gain of resolution in the synthesis direction. Processing errors are estimated through experiment. Random processing errors of a synthetic pupil composed of 33 merged holograms are negligible, but biases induced by unknown optical aberrations ofthe reference wave induce defocusing and astigmatism.  相似文献

A speckle shearing interferometer has been designed using symmetrical mutually incoherent illumination, in an effort to provide measurements of in-plane strain. An analysis of the sensitivity to displacement and strain of this interferometer is presented, together with analysis of the optical phase extraction of the resultant fringe pattern. This interferometer is an improvement on previous designs as it provides information on the in-plane strain separated from components of the displacement. Experimental results provide qualitative data in the form of fringe patterns in support of the theoretical analysis.  相似文献

A method for measurement of continuous displacements that uses phase-shifting speckle interferometry is presented. The initial random phase of the speckle pattern is evaluated by phase shifting before deformation. The changing phase thereafter is evaluated from only one image at a time by a least-squares algorithm. The technique can be used for measuring transients and other dynamic events, heat expansion as well as other phenomena, for which it is difficult to accomplish phase shifting during deformation. Theory along with computer simulations and experimental results are described.  相似文献

The concept of femtosecond laser speckles is put forward. The theory of a speckle pattern in light of finite bandwidth is applied to describe femtosecond laser speckles. Basic representations of the contrast and the spectral correlation of femtosecond laser speckles are presented. The relationship between the speckle contrast and the bandwidth of a femtosecond laser is given. Experimental results are given that indicate an obvious difference between the speckle patterns produced by a continuous-wave laser and those produced by a femtosecond laser.  相似文献

As an alternative to the intensity correlation used in conventional speckle metrology, we propose a new technique for displacement observation that is based on spatial-signal-domain phase-only correlation and that makes use of the pseudophase of the complex analytic signal generated from a Hilbert-filtered speckle pattern. Experimental results are presented that demonstrate the validity and the advantage of the proposed signal-domain phase-only correlation technique over both the conventional intensity correlation technique and the spatial-frequency-domain phase-only correlation technique.  相似文献

Most standard temporal-phase-shifting (TPS) algorithms evaluate the phase by computing a windowed Fourier transform (WFT) of the intensity signal at the carrier frequency of the system. However, displacement of the specimen during image acquisition may cause the peak of the transform to shift away from the carrier frequency, leading to phase errors and even unwrapping failure. We present a novel TPS method that searches for the peak of the WFT and evaluates the phase at that frequency instead of at the carrier frequency. The performance of this method is compared with that of standard algorithms by using numerical simulations. Experimental results from high-speed speckle interferometry studies of carbon fiber panels are also presented.  相似文献

The ordinary recordings of TV holography (phase-stepped electronic speckle interferometry), arranged for out-of-plane sensitivity, are recombined and also analyzed by use of electronic speckle photography for simultaneous measurements of all three components of the deformation vector field. The principles of this technique are presented. Experimental results showing the opening of a slot in a perspex plate are also presented.  相似文献

We propose a method to implement a speckle-reduced coherent three-dimensional (3D) display system by a combination of integral imaging and photorefractive volume holographic storage. The 3D real object is imaged through the microlens array and stored in the photorefractive crystal. During the reconstruction process a phase conjugate reading beam is used to minimize aberration, and a rotating diffuser located on the imaging plane of the lens array is employed to reduce the speckle noise. The speckle-reduced 3D image with a wide viewing angle can be reconstructed by use of the proposed system. Experimental results are presented and optical parameters of the proposed system are discussed in detail.  相似文献

Abstract:  As an improvement of the intensity correlation used widely in conventional electronic speckle photography, we propose a new technique for displacement measurement based on correlating Stokes-like parameters derivatives for transformed speckle patterns. The method is based on a Riesz transform of the intensity speckle pattern, which converts the original real-valued signal into a complex signal. In closest analogy to the polarisation of a vector wave, the Stokes-like vector constructed from the spatial derivative of the generated complex signal has been applied for correlation. Experimental results are presented that demonstrate the validity and advantage of the proposed pseudo-Stokes vector correlation technique over conventional intensity correlation technique.  相似文献

The recently developed technique of high-speed phase-shifting speckle interferometry combined with temporal phase unwrapping allows dynamic displacement fields to be measured, even for objects containing global discontinuities such as cracks or boundaries. However, when local speckle averaging is included, small phase errors introduced at each time step are accumulated along the time axis, yielding total phase values that depend strongly on the speckle rereference rate. We present an analysis of the errors introduced in the phase evaluation by three sources: intensity errors, velocity errors, and speckle decorrelation. These errors are analyzed when they act both independently and together, for the most commonly used phase-shifting algorithms, with computer-generated speckle patterns. It is shown that, in a controlled out-of-plane geometry, errors in the unwrapped phase map that are due to speckle decorrelation rise as the time between rereferencing events is increased, whereas those due to intensity and velocity errors are reduced. It is also shown that speckle decorrelation errors are typically more important than the intensity and velocity errors. These results provide guidance as to the optimal speckle rereferencing rate in practical applications of the technique.  相似文献

In holography and speckle interferometry the measurement range is generally limited by the greatest number of fringes that can be resolved in a single image. As a result these techniques have been generally confined to small displacement measurement applications. In the case of out-of-plane measurements one can overcome this limitation by simply adding incremental measurements at individual detector pixels. In the case of in-plane measurements, however, summing incremental measurements is not a straightforward procedure since the interference pattern moves laterally across the detector as the material deforms. We describe a modeling technique based on finite elements which solves this problem. In combination with a full field method such as holography or speckle interferometry, it provides a very sensitive measurement technique with dense spatial sampling and large dynamic range. Experimental results of speckle interferometry operating in transmission to measure in-plane displacements of biological membranes are presented, where total material displacements are of the order of millimeters. The results also demonstrate how the finite strain tensor is calculated analytically from the data at any point on the material.  相似文献

Speckle velocimetry is investigated as a means of determining odometry data with potential for application on autonomous robotic vehicles. The technique described here relies on the integration of translation measurements made by normalized cross-correlation of speckle patterns to determine the change in position over time. The use of objective (non-imaged) speckle offers a number of advantages over subjective (imaged) speckle, such as a reduction in the number of optical components, reduced modulation of speckles at the edges of the image, and improved light efficiency. The influence of the source/detector configuration on the speckle translation to vehicle translation scaling factor for objective speckle is investigated using a computer model and verified experimentally. Experimental measurements are presented at velocities up to 80 mm?s(-1) which show accuracy better than 0.4%.  相似文献

The compensation of large in-plane motions in digital speckle-pattern interferometry (DSPI) with the use of digital speckle photography (DSP) is demonstrated. Ordinary recordings of DSPI are recombined and analyzed with DSP. The DSP result is used to compensate for the bulk speckle motion prior to calculation of the phase map. This results in a high fringe contrast even for deformations of several speckle diameters. In addition, for the case of an in-plane deformation, it is shown that the absolute phase change in each pixel may be unwrapped by use of the DSP result as an initial guess. The principles of this method and experiments showing the in-plane rotation of a plate and the encounter of two rounded plates are presented.  相似文献
