Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO) has announced its intention to launch a 32-inch (81 cm) LCD panel with LED backlight in 3Q, which will make CMO the first manufacturer to produce LED- backlit TV-sized panels in volume. CMO has not stated who the customer is or what sort of pricing the panel will have. So far, the cost of LED backlight units have keep many from pulling the trigger on this option, so we are very curious to learn more about CMO's intentions.  相似文献

A double-stage start-up structure to limit the inrush current used in current-mode charge pump with wide input range, fixed output and multimode operation is presented in this paper. As a widely utilized power source implement, a Li-battery is always used as the power supply for chips. Due to the internal resistance, a potential drop will be generated at the input terminal of the chip with an input current. A false shut down with a low supply voltage will happen if the input current is too large, leading to the degradation of the Li-battery''s service life. To solve this problem, the inrush current is limited by introducing a new start-up state. All of the circuits have been implemented with the NUVOTON 0.6 μm CMOS process. The measurement results show that the inrush current can be limited below 1 A within all input supply ranges, and the power efficiency is higher than the conventional structure.  相似文献

Energy consumption has been one of the major challenges and concerns for the electronic devices design, especially in high-performance multi- and many-core systems. A highly integrated many-core chip is prone to be extremely high-power consumption that exceeds the chip's power budget set leaded by cooling, packaging and/or the capacity of the power supply. When this situation happens, various parts of the many-core chip will have to be deliberately switched off (darkened) so that the chip is still in compliance with its power budget, which is referred as "dark silicon". This paper presents a 0.18μm CMOS 6.25 Gb/s equalizer for high speed backplane communication. The proposed equalizer is a combined one consisting of a one-tap feed-forward equalizer (FFE) and a two-tap half-rate decision feedback equalizer (DFE) in order to cancel both pre-cursor and post-cursor ISI. By employing an active-inductive peaking circuit for the delay line, the bandwidth of the FFE is increased and the area cost is minimized. CML-based circuits such as DFFs, summers and multiplexes all help to improve the speed of DFEs. Measurement results illustrate that the equalizer operates well when equalizing 6.25 Gb/s data is passed over a 30-inch channel with a loss of 22 dB and consumes 55.8 mW with the supply voltage of 1.8 V. The overall chip area including pads is 0.3 × 0.5 mm^2.  相似文献

Renewable energy,such as wind and solar energy,may vary signifi cantly over time and locations depending on the weather and the climate conditions.This leads to the supply uncertainty in the electricity(power) market with renewable energy integrated to power grid.In this paper,electricity in the market is classified into two types:stablesupply electricity(SSE) and unstablesupply electricity(USE).We investigate the investment and pricing strategies under the electricity supply uncertainty in wholesale and retail electricity market.In particular,our model combines the wholesale and retail market and capture the dominant players,i.e.,consumers,power plant(power operator),and electricity supplier.To derive the market behaviors of these players,we formulate the market decision problems as a multistage Stackelberg game.By solving the game model,we obtain the optimal,with closedform,wholesale investment and retail pricing strategy for the operator.We also obtain the energy supplier’s best price mechanism numerically under certain assumption.We fi nd the price of SSE being about 1.4 times higher than that of USE will benefi t energy supplieroptimally,under which power plant’s optimal strategy of investing is to purchase USE about 4.5 times much more than SSE.  相似文献

A new sustain driver with an energy recovery circuit for ac plasma display panels is proposed. The proposed driver uses not expensive clamping diodes but relatively cheap RC components in the Y and X main boards without degrading the performance. Consequently, it features fewer power devices and lower cost because of no clamping diodes. To demonstrate the validity of the proposed driver, various experimental results with a prototype 42-inch HD PDP module are presented.  相似文献

为降低PDP的成本,提高PDP图像数据处理的效率,在分析了双存储器架构图像数据处理方法的基础上,提出了一种单存储器架构的图像数据处理的方法。该方法通过压缩行场同步时间,提高数据处理速度,通过随机读写仲裁,实现一行时间内图像数据的随机读写。32英寸PDP的验证结果表明,单存储器架构使存储空间利用率提高了13.2%,时间利用效率提高了22%,并使存储器数量减少一半。  相似文献
