The effects of both linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS) and zein protein concentrations on protein solubilization were investigated to better understand the influence of increasing concentration of the surfactant on protein denaturation and skin irritation. Different methods have been used for the determination of the amount of protein dissolved. A wide range of LAS concentrations and zein amounts were used. The results confirm that protein solubilization increases with LAS concentration increase and demonstrate that a minimum LAS/Zein ratio exists for all the zein to be dissolved. 相似文献

Interactions of a widely used commercial anionic surfactant, linear alkylbenzene sulfonate, with zein protein, a water insoluble protein, was studied to better understand the effects of the counterion on skin irritation of anionic surfactants. The neutralizing ions used were inorganics: Li+, Na+, K+, Mg2+, and NH4+ and organics: monoethanolamine, diethanolamine, and triethanolamine. According to the results obtained, the influence of counterions of anionic surfactants on zein solubilization is significant; with magnesium counterions showing lower zein solubilization. In aqueous solutions, zein solubilization by anionic surfactant is related to the effect of the counterion on the critical micelle concentration of the surfactant for the inorganic counter‐ions; for the organic counter‐ions, effects of tighter anionic binding in the micelle also contribute to zein solubilization trends. 相似文献

聚季铵盐—10是阳离子纤维素聚合物的通用名称,应用于香波体系,提供头发调理性能。聚季铵盐—10与大部分表面活性剂相容提供极好的香波透明度。在洗涤、冲洗的香波稀释过程中,阳离子纤维素聚合物和阴离子、两性表面活性剂系统形成络合物,从体系溶液中相分离出来。这种相分离(或凝聚)通常被称为“Lockhead效应”。凝聚物为胶状相,含有大量阳离子电荷,将聚合物附着在负电荷头发表面,形成透明膜。同时,凝聚帮助不溶活性成分,如硅油的附着。近期的研究显示,阳离子纤维素聚合物的黏度和电荷密度是决定香波特性,如调理性能的重要因素。凝聚物的类型因配方中使用的阳离子聚合物和表面活性剂体系而不同。选择适当的聚合物和表面活性剂体系,配方者可预计和控制阳离子聚合物和不溶性活性成分的附着效果。 相似文献

Alcohol ethoxycarboxylates (AEC) may be derived from alcohol ethoxylates (AEO) either by reaction of the nonionic surfactant
with monochloroacetic acid (MCAA) or by oxidation. If MCAA is used, a -CH2COOH unit is added to the AEO. When an AEO is oxidized, the terminal -CH2OH group is selectively converted to -COOH. By use of proprietary carefully controlled oxidation technology, a variety of
AEC surfactants have been synthesized. These surfactants exhibit good foaming and excellent line soap dispersion, and they
allow formulation of high-quality personal-care products. Starter formulations have been investigated with AEC, both in shampoos
and liquid hand cleaners. These formulations had the viscosity and foaming found in a survey of commercially available products.
A shampoo and a liquid soap formulation with AEC were subjected to in-vitro assays to assess the potential for irritation to the skin or eyes. The assay results predict these formulations to cause
minimal irritation, similar to commercial products.
