Emission yields of secondary ions necessary for the identification of poly-tyrosine were compared for incident ion impacts of energetic cluster ions (0.8 MeV , 2.4 MeV , and 4.0 MeV ) and swift heavy monoatomic molybdenum ions (4.0 MeV Mo+ and 14 MeV Mo4+) with similar mass to that of the cluster by time-of-flight secondary ion mass analysis combined with secondary ion electric current measurements. The comparison revealed that (1) secondary ion emission yields per impact increase with increasing incident energy within the energy range examined, (2) the 4.0 MeV impact provides higher emission yields than the impact of the monoatomic Mo ion with the same incident energy (4.0 MeV Mo+), and (3) the 2.4 MeV impact exhibits comparable emission yields to that for the Mo ion impact with higher incident energy (14 MeV Mo4+). Energetic cluster ion impacts effectively produce the characteristic secondary ions for poly-tyrosine, which is advantageous for highly sensitive amino acid detection in proteins using time-of-flight secondary ion mass analysis.  相似文献

Several targets that consist of atomic species X (X = N, O, Cl, S, Br) adsorbed at hollow sites on the Cu(1 0 0) surface have been examined with low-fluence secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS). The positive and negative secondary ion (SI) abundance distributions, which show a range of characteristics, have been discussed with the aid of thermochemical data derived from ab initio calculations. In positive SIMS, CuX+ is never observed, while the only heteronuclear (mixed-atom) SI that is observed for all five systems is Cu2X+. In negative SIMS, the dominant heteronuclear species for all systems is , except for N/Cu(1 0 0), which produces no , ions. Cu emission is observed only for O/Cu(1 0 0). By analogy with results from laser ablation studies of O/Cu targets, it is conjectured that Cu is a daughter product of the gas-phase dissociation of polyatomic Cu-O anion clusters.  相似文献

We investigated the effects of size and energy of large incident Ar cluster ions on the secondary ion emission of Si. The secondary ions were measured using a double deflection method and a time-of-flight (TOF) technique. The size of the incident Ar cluster ions was between a few hundreds and several tens of thousands of atoms, and the energy up to 60 keV. Under the incidence of keV energy atomic Ar ions, mainly atomic Si ions were detected, whereas Si cluster ions were rarely observed. On the other hand, under the incidence of large Ar cluster ions, the dominant secondary ions were  (2 ? n ? 11). It has become clear that the yield ratio of secondary Si cluster ions was determined by the velocity of the incident cluster ions, and this strong dependence of the yield ratio on incident velocity should be related to the mechanisms of secondary ion emission under large Ar cluster ion bombardment.  相似文献

Linear free energy relationships for trivalent cations with crystalline M2O3 and, M(OH)3 phases of lanthanides and actinides were developed from known thermodynamic properties of the aqueous trivalent cations, modifying the Sverjensky and Molling equation. The linear free energy relationship for trivalent cations is as , where the coefficients aMvX, bMvX, and βMvX characterize a particular structural family of MvX, rM3+ is the ionic radius of M3+ cation, is the standard Gibbs free energy of formation of MvX and is the standard non-solvation free energy of the cation. The coefficients for the oxide family are: aMvX = 0.2705, bMvX = −1984.75 (kJ/mol), and βMvX = 197.24 (kJ/mol nm). The coefficients for the hydroxide family are: aMvX = 0.1587, bMvX = −1474.09 (kJ/mol), and βMvX = 791.70 (kJ/mol nm).  相似文献

Colour centers formation in Al2O3 by reactor neutrons were investigated by optical measurements (absorption and photoluminescence). The irradiation’s were performed at 40 °C, up to fast neutron (En > 1.2 MeV) fluence of 1.4 × 1018 n cm−2. After irradiation the coloration of the sample increases with the neutron fluence and absorption band at about 203, 255, 300, 357 and 450 nm appear in the UV-visible spectrum. The evolution of each absorption bands as a function of fluence and annealing temperature is presented and discussed. The results indicate that at higher fluence and above 350 °C the F+ center starts to aggregate to F center clusters (F2, F2+ and ). These aggregates disappear completely above 650 °C whereas the F and F+ centers persist even after annealing at 900 °C. It is clear also from the results that the absorption band at 300 nm is due to the contribution of both F2 center and interstitial ions.  相似文献

We study the vibrational dynamics produced when two cold atoms are photoassociated in a diatomic molecule by an intense laser pulse (with the duration of hundreds ps), inducing a resonance condition at small interatomic distances. The example analysed is the population transfer from the continuum to the 1g(6s + 6p3/2) excited electronic potential of the Cs2 molecule, at a temperature T ≈ 0.11 mK. We use a non-perturbative treatment by following the wavepackets dynamics on the ground and excited surfaces. We show that cold molecules can be efficiently produced in both ground and excited electronic potentials.  相似文献

Defect centers induced by gamma irradiation in Ce doped BaBPO5 were investigated using EPR spectroscopy. From EPR studies, three phosphorous centered radicals were characterized on the basis of observed 31P hyperfine splitting and g values as , and radicals. In addition to this, two types of boron oxygen hole centers (BOHC) and O were also formed at room temperature. An intense broad signal in sample annealed in argon (g = 1.9258 and g = 1.8839) was assigned to Ce3+ ions associated with the electron trapped at anion vacancy or nearby lattice defect. TSL studies showed two glow peaks, a relatively weaker one at 425 K and an intense one at 575 K. Spectral studies of the TSL glow peaks have shown that Ce3+ ion acts as emission center. From the temperature dependence of the EPR spectra of gamma irradiated samples, the glow peaks at 425 K and 575 K were attributed to thermal destruction of /O and BOHC, respectively, by trapping of electrons from elsewhere. The energy released in electron hole recombination process is used for the excitation of Ce3+ ions resulting in these glow peaks at 425 K and 575 K. The spectral studies of the TSL glow peaks have shown emission at 330 nm indicating Ce3+ acts as the luminescent centre. The trap depth and the frequency factor for the 425 K and 575 K peaks were determined using different heating rates method.  相似文献

Optical methods can provide important insights into the mechanisms and consequences of ion beam interactions with solids. This is illustrated by four distinctly different systems.X- and Y-cut LiNbO3 crystals implanted with 8 MeV Au3+ ions with a fluence of 1 × 1017 ions/cm2 result in gold nanoparticle formation during high temperature annealing. Optical extinction curves simulated by the Mie theory provide the average nanoparticle sizes. TEM studies are in reasonable agreement and confirm a near-spherical nanoparticle shape but with surface facets. Large temperature differences in the nanoparticle creation in the X- and Y-cut crystals are explained by recrystallisation of the initially amorphised regions so as to recreate the prior crystal structure and to result in anisotropic diffusion of the implanted gold.Defect formation in alkali halides using ion beam irradiation has provided new information. Radiation-hard CsI crystals bombarded with 1 MeV protons at 300 K successfully produce F-type centres and V-centres having the structure as identified by optical absorption and Raman studies. The results are discussed in relation to the formation of interstitial iodine aggregates of various types in alkali iodides. Depth profiling of and aggregates created in RbI bombarded with 13.6 MeV/A argon ions at 300 K is discussed. The recrystallisation of an amorphous silicon layer created in crystalline silicon bombarded with 100 keV carbon ions with a fluence of 5 × 1017 ions/cm2 during subsequent high temperature annealing is studied by Raman and Brillouin light scattering.Irradiation of tin-doped indium oxide (ITO) films with 1 MeV protons with fluences from 1 × 1015 to 250 × 1015 ions/cm−2 induces visible darkening over a broad spectral region that shows three stages of development. This is attributed to the formation of defect clusters by a model of defect growth and also high fluence optical absorption studies. X-ray diffraction studies show evidence of a strained lattice after the proton bombardment and recovery after long period storage. The effects are attributed to the annealing of the defects produced.  相似文献

The thermodynamic stability of Nd(III) complexes was studied by electrochemical techniques for molten binary mixtures composed of LiCl and an alkali earth chloride, CaCl2, SrCl2, or BaCl2 at 923 K. The Gibbs free energy change of formation of Nd(III) in the melts was determined. The obtained values showed a good correlation with the polarizing power of solvent cations. The Nd(III) complex was more stable in the melts with low polarizing power. The electronic absorption spectrum of the hypersensitive f-f transition of Nd3+ was investigated to obtain information about the structural change of the complex. The estimated oscillator strength of the 4G5/2,2G7/2 ← 4I9/2 transition and the degree of the energy splitting in electronic energy levels showed different trends upon the polarizing power for each of added alkali earth chloride. This indicates that the coordination environments further from second neighbors could have significant impact on the electronic energy levels of Nd(III) in the mixtures including alkali earth cations.  相似文献

The existence states of deuterium in LiAlO2 were analyzed by in situ IR absorption spectroscopy during irradiation with 3 keV at room temperature. Multiple IR absorption peaks that were related to O-D stretching vibrations were observed, mainly at 2650 cm−1 (O-Dα), 2600 cm−1 (O-Dβ), and 2500 cm−1 (O-Dγ). The O-Dα was assigned to the surface O-D. The O-Dβ and O-Dγ were interpreted as two distinct O-D states for three candidates: O-D of substitutional D+ for Li+; O-D of substitutional D+ for Al3+; and O-D of interstitial D+. O-Dβ was the dominant O-D state for deuterium irradiated into LiAlO2, and had higher stability than O-Dγ. Heating after ion irradiation led to the desorption of D2 and an increase in the intensity of O-Dβ, which implies that some of the deuterium irradiated into LiAlO2 exists in non-O-D states, such as D captured by F centers.  相似文献

The fabrication of reliable isotopic nitrogen standards is achieved in Si through 14N and 15N ion implantation. 60 keV and ions were implanted at 400 °C up to ∼60% peak atomic concentration, yielding nitrogen-saturated silicon layers as measured using resonant nuclear reaction analysis. No isotopic effect has been observed. The nitrogen standards are validated by measurements of stability under ion irradiation. No significant desorption of nitrogen is observed either under a 4He+ ion fluence of 3.36 × 1016 cm−2 or under a 1H+ ion fluence of 8.60 × 1017 cm−2, giving strong evidence that isotopic nitrogen standards can be achieved.  相似文献

The most likely substituting positions of impurity oxygen ions in LiBaF3 crystals are studied using the general utility lattice program (GULP). The calculated results indicate that the main defect model is [] in the O:LiBaF3 crystal. The electronic structures of the LiBaF3 crystal with the defect [] are calculated using the DV-Xα method. It can be concluded from the electronic structures that the LiBaF3 crystal with the defect [] will exhibit a 217-280 nm absorption band and the impurity oxygen will decrease core-valence luminescence yield.  相似文献

The degree of embrittlement of the reactor pressure vessel (RPV) limits the lifetime of nuclear power plants. Therefore, neutron irradiation-induced embrittlement of RPV steels demands accurate monitoring. Current federal legislation requires a surveillance program in which specimens are placed inside the RPV for several years before their fracture toughness is determined by destructive Charpy impact testing. Measuring the changes in the thermoelectric properties of the material due to irradiation, is an alternative and non-destructive method for the diagnostics of material embrittlement. In this paper, the measurement of the Seebeck coefficient () of several Charpy specimens, made from two different grades of 22 NiMoCr 37 low-alloy steels, irradiated by neutrons with energies greater than 1 MeV, and fluencies ranging from 0 up to 4.5 × 1019 neutrons per cm2, are presented. Within this range, it was observed that increased by ≈500 nV/°C and a linear dependency was noted between and the temperature shift ΔT41 J of the Charpy energy vs. temperature curve, which is a measure for the embrittlement. We conclude that the change of the Seebeck coefficient has the potential for non-destructive monitoring of the neutron embrittlement of RPV steels if very precise measurements of the Seebeck coefficient are possible.  相似文献

Relativistic perturbation theory with a model potential is used for the calculation of energy levels of the states 4f5/2, 4f7/2, 5s1/2, 5p1/2, 5p3/2, 5d3/2, 5d5/2, 5f5/2, and 5f7/2 above the 1s22s22p63s23p63d104s24p64d10 core, with one vacancy , in the same core, in the silver and rhodium isoelectronic sequences with the maximum nuclear charge Z = 86. The method of extrapolation of the model potential parameter is applied to calculate one-electron and one-vacancy wavefunctions. The wavefunctions of Ag- and Rh-like ions were used to calculate the energies of resonance transitions to the ground state 1S0 in Pd-like ions. Good agreement between the theoretical and the experimental energies of the resonance transitions in Pd-like ions indicates the reliability of the results obtained.  相似文献

Bombardment of semiconductors with fullerene has been used to induce the formation of tracks. It is now accepted that target electronic excitation and ionization, which gives rise to the slowing down of the projectile is essential to calculate the track diameter. In the case of cluster beams, like fullerenes, the electronic excitation induced by each of the cluster constituents is enhanced, for certain projectile energies and target depths, by the so-called vicinage effects. Here we use a simulation code to calculate the energy lost by a swift fullerene ion beam in InP, paying special attention to the vicinage effects where they are significative. The code describes classically the movement of each cluster constituent under the influence of the self-retarding force, the Coulomb repulsion among molecular fragments, the wake forces responsible for the vicinage effects and the multiple scattering with the target nuclei. The simulation code also takes into account the possibility that the molecular fragments can also capture or loss electrons from the target, changing its charge state in their travel through the solid. Our simulations show that the energy deposited by the atomic ions that constitute the C60 ion is clearly higher than the energy deposited by the same atomic ions but isolated. This difference being larger as the incident energy increases. We have predicted that track diameters of can be obtained in an InP target when using C60 ions with an initial energy of 300 MeV.  相似文献

The thermodynamic stability of rubidium thorate, Rb2ThO3(s), was determined from vaporization studies using the Knudsen effusion forward collection technique. Rb2ThO3(s) vaporized incongruently and predominantly as Rb2ThO3(s)=ThO2(s) + 2Rb(g) + 1/2 O2(g). The equilibrium constant K=pRb2·pO21/2 was evaluated from the measurement of the effusive flux due to Rb vapor species under the oxygen potential governed by the stoichiometric loss of the chemical component Rb2O from the thorate phase. The Gibbs energy of formation of Rb2ThO3 derived from the measurement and other auxiliary data could be given by the equation, ΔfG°(Rb2ThO3,s)=−1794.7+0.42T ± .  相似文献

In this paper, we report time-of-flight (TOF) secondary ion mass spectroscopy using primary C60 ions with an energy range from several tens of keV to several hundreds of keV. Application of the spectroscopy to the analysis of a poly(amino acid) film revealed that characteristic peaks, necessary for identification of the amino acid in proteins, show higher intensities for medium energy C60 (120 keV and 540 keV ) impacts than those for low energy C60 (30 keV ) impacts. This finding demonstrates that medium energy C60 ion impacts are useful for highly sensitive characterization of amino acids.  相似文献
