The investigation of electrochemical behavior of different conducting polymers, polythiophene (PTh), polypyrrole (PPy) and polyterthiophene (PTTh) on a mild steel (MS) electrode were done. Moreover, the combinations of the conducting polymers PTh and PPy was investigated. The synthesis of all polymeric coatings was done by the cyclic voltammetry technique. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements were used to evaluate the corrosion performance of coated mild steel by different polymers in 0.5 M of different acid solutions (HCl, HClO4, H2 C 2 O 4, H3PO4 and HNO3). The protection of all polymeric coatings against corrosion of the substrate was promising and the bilayer coating PPy/PTh gave the best protection efficiency in all used acids. The order of efficiency for the different coatings in HCl and HNO3 solutions was MS/PPy/PTh > MS/PPy > MS/PTTh > MS/PTh but the order in HClO4, H3PO4 and H2 C 2 O 4 solutions was MS/PPy/PTh > MS/PTTh > MS/PPy > MS/PTh. 相似文献

Biocide free and biocide loaded Zeolite epoxy coatings were formulated and covalently linked to diglycidyl ether bisphenol-A
type epoxy resin which acts as a base material. These formulations were applied over the zinc phosphated mild steel specimens
by a brushing method to give a thickness of 200 ± 10 μm. The effect of biocide on the corrosion and fouling resistance properties
were evaluated by Thermo Gravimetric Analysis (TGA), polarization, electrochemical impedance and antifouling testing. The
experimental evidence reveals that the linkage of biocide loaded Nano Zeolite has tremendous potential in resisting corrosion
and fouling which is ideally required for marine environments and quite superior to the biocide free Zeolite coating. The

Epoxy composite coatings filled with fillers have been used extensively as anticorrosion materials. In this study, an alternating multilayer structure is designed to obtain multifunctional epoxy resin composite coating based on stepwise coating method via adding graphene and α‐alumina. Their mechanical properties, thermal conductivity, dielectric and anticorrosion properties are characterized. The toughness and the thermal conductivity clearly increase, while the dielectric properties decrease approximately to zero when the filler mass fraction increases from 0.00% to 0.15%. The whole corrosion process is controlled by electrochemical reaction, and the fillers effectively block the corrosive medium, thus improving the anticorrosion performance of the composite coating. 相似文献

Red cabbage dye (RCD) and its inhibitory effect on the corrosion of mild steel in 1 N HCl and 1 N H3PO4 was investigated by weight loss and electrochemical methods. RCD was a good inhibitor for mild steel corrosion in acid solutions, affecting anodic and cathodic reactions. The inhibition efficiency increased with RCD concentrations, with more pronounced effects observed in HCl. The effect of temperature on corrosion inhibition was studied and kinetic activation parameters were calculated and discussed. The inhibition mechanism of RCD on the mild steel surface was related to the dye make up and behavior in acid solutions. 相似文献

Polybithiophene (PBT) was freshly electrodeposited on platinum (Pt) and steel electrodes using cyclic voltammetry from 2,2-bithiophene (BT), electrolyte and acetonitrile (AC). The electrolytes used were LiBF4, LiClO4, LiCF3SO3, Bu4NBF4, Bu4NClO4, or Bu4NCF3SO3. Black to red colored PBT films with metallic lustre were electropolymerized on Pt and steel electrodes with good adherence. The electrochemical properties and the surface morphology of the deposited PBT film depend on the type of ions used during the electropolymerization. –PBT composite. The results are discussed on the basis of the structural and the electrochemical properties of the electrolyte ions. The presence of PBT–iron oxide composite on the steel surface causes a shift of the pitting potential (E
