With the wide applications of wireless sensor network (WSN), its reliability evaluation has been attracted more attention. The reliability of a WSN is affected mainly by internal and external factors, which include internal faults and external attacks. In this paper, a reliability evaluation method based on a hierarchical belief rule base (BRB) method is proposed for the reliability evaluation of the WSN. First, the factors affecting the reliability of a WSN are analysed, and the reliability evaluation process that considers the WSN fault evaluation and WSN security evaluation is described. Second, the reliability evaluation model is constructed based on the hierarchical BRB model. The qualitative knowledge is used by the BRB model to build initial belief rules, and the quantitative data are used to optimize the initial parameters of the BRB model, which can utilize various types of uncertainty information effectively. Therefore, the proposed method can be applied to the WSN reliability evaluation, which is a complex and uncertain problem. Finally, a simulation case study and an actual case study of wellhead blowout monitoring are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. The reliability results of actual WSN are obtained by the standard testing method, where the loss and accuracy rates of the collected data are treated as the observation factors for obtaining the actual reliability values. The estimated results of hierarchical BRB model are very close to the actual reliability values, which shows that the proposed method can be used for evaluating the reliability of the actual WSN accurately. 相似文献

With the technology scaling, nanoscale devices are becoming more and more sensitive to external influences. Reliability analysis is expected to play a major role for the design process of nanoscale systems. In fact, understanding the relations between circuit structure and its reliability allows the designer to implement tradeoffs that can improve the resulting design. In this work, we propose and verify a method for reliability evaluation, named effective reliability, that can tolerate errors based on a pertinent quality metric. In order to demonstrate the impact of the proposed approach, we designed two operators using reliability as a constraint: an 8-bit ripple carry adder and a 4-bit multiplier. Comparing the resulting designs using the traditional reliability evaluation method and the proposed one, we can observe significant savings in circuit area. 相似文献

An important parameter in the topological design of computer communication networks is that of overall reliability, rather than terminal-pair reliability, as one is interested in not allowing service disruption between any pair of nodes. Exact techniques for overall reliability evaluation based on the spanning trees idea fail for networks even of reasonable size because of the enormous amount of computer time and storage required. In this paper, we present a very simple and fast method based on an m-level hierarchical clustering (MHC) for network overall reliability evaluation which gives results as good as exact techniques for realistic values of link reliability (e.g. 0.9 or more). Adaptability of a practical clustering method (i.e. complete linkage, CL) to obtain near optimal clusters for overall reliability evaluation by incorporating suggested modifications is proposed. 相似文献

This paper presents a graph-theoretic method for the reliability evaluation of multistage interconnection networks with multistate elements. For the purpose of analysis, the generalized cube (GC), a unique-path MIN and an extra-stage cube (ESC), a fault-tolerant variation of GC, are considered. An algorithm is presented to evaluate three reliability measures, i.e. terminal reliability (TR), broadcast reliability (BR) and network reliability (NR) of MINs for different reliability values of links and switches. The proposed method is found to be simple and computationally efficient compared to the existing techniques, and therefore can be applied for reliability evaluation of other large interconnection networks used in parallel computing systems. 相似文献

The rapid development of CMOS and non-CMOS nanotechnologies has opened up new possibilities and introduced new challenges for circuit design. One of the main challenges is in designing reliable circuits from defective nanoscale devices. Hence, there is a need to develop methodologies to accurately evaluate circuit reliability. In recent years, a number of reliability evaluation methodologies based on probabilistic model checking, probabilistic transfer matrices, probabilistic gate models, etc., have been proposed. Scalability has been a concern in the applicability of these methodologies to the reliability analysis of large circuits. In this paper, we develop a general, scalable technique for these reliability evaluation methodologies. Specifically, an algorithm is developed for the model checking-based methodology and implemented in a tool called Scalable, Extensible Tool for Reliability Analysis (SETRA). SETRA integrates the scalable model checking-based algorithm into the conventional computer-aided design circuit design flow. The paper also discusses ways to modify the scalable algorithm for the other reliability estimation methodologies and plug them into SETRA's extensible framework. Our preliminary experiments show how SETRA can be used effectively to evaluate and compare the robustness of different circuit designs. 相似文献
