The spectrum of doubly ionized molybdenum (Mo III) was produced in a sliding spark discharge and recorded photographically on the NIST 10.7-m normal incidence spectrograph in the 800-3250 Å spectral region. The analysis has led to the establishment of 76 levels of the interacting 4d4, 4d3 5s and 4d2 5s2 even configurations, 73 levels of the interacting 4d3 5d and 4d3 6s even configurations, and 181 levels of the interacting 4d3 5p and 4d2 5s5p odd configurations. Approximately 3100 lines have been classified as transitions between these experimentally determined levels. Comparison between the observed levels and those calculated from matrix diagonalizations with least-squares fitted parameters shows standard deviations of 44, 33, and 183 cm−1, respectively, for the levels of the three sets of configurations.  相似文献

The analysis of Pt II is extended by using accurate wavelength measurements by Sansonetti et al. Forty-three new even and 104 new odd levels have been found. The Slater-Condon parametric method is used for the interpretation of the 5d9, 5d86s, and 5d76s2 low even configurations and the 5d8(7s+6d) high even configurations with root mean square deviations smaller than 80 cm−1. The importance of the 5d8–5d76s core interaction in interpreting the even-parity levels is stressed.  相似文献

The spectra of osmium and iridium were photographed in the 300 Å to 1600 Å region on a 3 m normal incidence spectrograph using a triggered spark source. The (5d2 + 5d6s)–5d6p transition arrays of Os VII and Ir VIII were analyzed. All levels of these three configurations in both spectra have been established. There are 77 lines in Os VII and 71 lines in Ir VIII classified. The parametric least squares fitting calculations are used to interpret both spectra. The 6s 2S1/2–6p 2P1/2,3/2 transitions in Ir IX have also been identified.  相似文献

The spectrum of the neutral bromine atom, Br I, has been newly investigated by using electrodeless discharge tubes as light sources. The observations have led to a list of wavelengths and estimated intensities for 1253 spectral lines in the range 1067 to 24100 Å. The number of known energy levels has been increased to 123 even and 128 odd levels, as compared with the 27 even and 33 odd levels previously known. All predicted energy levels of the 4s24p4ns, up, nd, nf electron configurations from 0 to ~93250 K have been discovered. The observations in the vacuum ultraviolet establish that the positions of all the levels lying above those of the ground configuration as given in the compilation Atomic Energy Levels, Vol. II (1952) should be increased by 6.7 K. All but 26 faint lines of Br I have been classified. A total of 67 levels has been ascribed to the 4s2 4p* nf configurations. It is demonstrated that the nf configurations exhibit almost pure pair coupling. The very regular (3P2)nf[511/2 series yields for the principal ionization energy of Br I the value 95284.8 K.  相似文献

The I ii spectrum has been excited in electrodeless lamps and photographed from 655 A to 11084 A. Wavelengths and estimated intensities are given for almost 2,400 lines. A revision and extension of the earlier analyses of this spectrum has increased the number of known even levels from 43 to 124, and the number of odd levels from 55 to 190. New gJ-factors are given for 46 levels, and the previous designations of 40 levels are changed. Improved measurements in the vacuum ultraviolet region give a correction of 7.4 cm−1 to be subtracted from the values listed in Atomic Energy Levels, Vol. 3 (1958), for all levels above the ground configuration. The approximately 1,800 classified lines now include all of the strongest lines. The 1S0 of the ground configuration 5s25p4 has been found, and this configuration has been fitted to intermediate coupling theory. Magnetic dipole transitions between levels of the ground configuration, 3P21D2 (7282 A) and 3P11S0 (4460 A), have been observed and their nature confirmed by the Zeeman effect. The line 5p4 3P21D2 shows hyperfine structure which is in approximate agreement with a theoretical calculation of the expected structure. New levels have been found for almost all higher configurations. All previously known series have been extended and new ones found. From one of the new series, 5p3(4S°)512g5G6°, the principal ionization energy for I ii (154304 ±1 cm−1) has been derived. The results of the analysis are compared with theoretical expectations in a number of cases.  相似文献

An extensive survey of the spectra of iodine has led to a list of more than 900 lines emitted by neutral atoms in the region from 23070 A in the infrared to 1195 A in the extreme ultraviolet. Wavelengths between 12304 A and 2061 A were derived from measurements of spectrograms obtained with gratings of high dispersion. Wavelengths of lines outside these limits are the computed values for lines observed on photometric tracings of the infrared, inaccessible to photography, and in the ultraviolet with a vacuum-grating spectrograph. For many of the lines Zeeman patterns were obtained in a magnetic field of about 37,000 oersteds. With these data many of the lines have been classified as combinations between odd levels from the electron configurations 5s2 5p4 np and 5s2 5p4 nf, and even levels from the configurations 5s2 5p4 ns and 5s2 5p4 nd. Among these levels several sets have been recognized as forming Rydberg sequences that are in close agreement in placing the ground state 5p5  2Po of I i at 84,340 cm−1 below the ground state 5p4 3P2 of I ii. This gives 10.45 electron-volts for the ionization potential of the neutral iodine atom. A strong infrared line at 13148.8 A is explained as a magnetic dipole transition between the levels of the ground term 5p5 2P°.  相似文献

The effects of different Ca-addition rates on calcium fluoride (CaF2) precipitation and deposition were investigated in 12 mmol/L sodium fluoride solutions to which 0.1 mol/L calcium chloride solution was continuously added at average rates of (5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15 or 20) mmol L−1 min−1. The changes in ionic fluoride and calcium concentrations, as well as turbidity, were continuously recorded by F and Ca electrodes, and a fiber optic based spectrophotometer, respectively. The F concentration decreased and turbidity increased with time indicating precipitation of CaF2. For the systems with Ca-addition rates of (5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15, and 20) mmol L−1 min−1, the 1 min CaF2 depositions in the model substrate (cellulose filter paper, pores 0.2 µm) expressed as mean ± SD of deposited F per substrate surface area were (3.78 ± 0.31, 11.45 ± 0.89, 9.31 ± 0.68, 8.20 ± 0.56, 6.63 ± 0.43, and 2.09 ± 0.28) µg/cm2, respectively (n = 10 for each group). The 1-min F depositions did not show positive correlation to Ca-addition rates. The lowest 1-min F deposition was obtained in the systems with the highest Ca-addition rate of 20 mmol L−1 min−1 for which CaF2 precipitation rate reached the maximum value of 0.31 mmol L−1 s−1 almost immediately after beginning of reaction (6 s). The largest 1-min F depositions were obtained from the systems with Ca addition rates of (7.5 to 12.5) mmol L−1 min−1 in which CaF2 precipitation rates continuously increased reaching the maximum values of (0.13 to 0.20) mmol L−1 s−1 after (18 to 29) s, respectively. The 1-min F depositions were greatly enhanced in comparison with the control F solutions that did not have continuous Ca-addition. This indicates that continuous Ca addition that controls the rate of CaF2 formation could be a critical factor for larger F depositions from F solutions. The efficacy of conventional F mouthrinses could be improved with addition of a substance that continuously releases Ca.  相似文献

The infrared spectrum of the v2+v6 band of C13C12H6 has been analyzed and a value of B0= 0.64865 ±0.00005 cm−1 determined. When this value is combined with that found in recent work on isotopically normal ethane, a “rs value of 1.527±0.004 A for the carboncarbon bond distance is obtained. The micromechanical properties of spider air flow hair sensilla (trichobothria) were characterized with nanometre resolution using surface force spectroscopy (SFS) under conditions of different constant deflection angular velocities (rad s−1) for hairs 900–950 μm long prior to shortening for measurement purposes. In the range of angular velocities examined (4×10−4−2.6×10−1 rad s−1), the torque T (Nm) resisting hair motion and its time rate of change (Nm s−1) were found to vary with deflection velocity according to power functions. In this range of angular velocities, the motion of the hair is most accurately captured by a three-parameter solid model, which numerically describes the properties of the hair suspension. A fit of the three-parameter model (3p) to the experimental data yielded the two torsional restoring parameters, S 3p=2.91×10−11 Nm rad−1 and =2.77×10−11 Nm rad−1 and the damping parameter R 3p=1.46×10−12 Nm s rad−1. For angular velocities larger than 0.05 rad s−1, which are common under natural conditions, a more accurate angular momentum equation was found to be given by a two-parameter Kelvin solid model. For this case, the multiple regression fit yielded S 2p=4.89×10−11 Nm rad−1 and R 2p=2.83×10−14 Nm s rad−1 for the model parameters. While the two-parameter model has been used extensively in earlier work primarily at high hair angular velocities, to correctly capture the motion of the hair at both low and high angular velocities it is necessary to employ the three-parameter model. It is suggested that the viscoelastic mechanical properties of the hair suspension work to promote the phasic response behaviour of the sensilla.  相似文献

We consider the feasibility of basing a pressure standard on measurements of the dielectric constant ϵ and the thermodynamic temperature T of helium near 0 °C. The pressure p of the helium would be calculated from fundamental constants, quantum mechanics, and statistical mechanics. At present, the relative standard uncertainty of the pressure ur(p) would exceed 20 × 10−6, the relative uncertainty of the value of the molar polarizability of helium Aϵ calculated ab initio. If the relativistic corrections to Aϵ were calculated as accurately as the classical value is now known, a capacitance-based pressure standard might attain ur(p) < 6 × 10−6 for pressures near 1 MPa, a result of considerable interest for pressure metrology. One obtains p by eliminating the density from the virial expansions for p and ϵ − 1. If ϵ − 1 were measured with a very stable, 0.5 pF toroidal cross capacitor, the small capacitance and the small values of ϵ − 1 would require state-of-the-art capacitance measurements to achieve a useful pressure standard.  相似文献

The analysis of the first spectrum of ruthenium has been extended with the aid of digital computers. A total of 105 even and 206 odd levels are listed with observed Landé g-factors for 54 even and 148 odd levels. A complete list of approximately 3,400 classified lines in the range 2013 to 11484 A is presented. The ionization limit calculated from a two member series is 59410 cm−1 or 7.364 v.  相似文献

Solution-processed films of 1,4,8,11,15,18,22,25-octakis(hexyl) copper phthalocyanine (CuPc6) were utilized as an active semiconducting layer in the fabrication of organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) in the bottom-gate configurations using chemical vapour deposited silicon dioxide (SiO2) as gate dielectrics. The surface treatment of the gate dielectric with a self-assembled monolayer of octadecyltrichlorosilane (OTS) resulted in values of 4×10−2 cm2 V−1 s−1 and 106 for saturation mobility and on/off current ratio, respectively. This improvement was accompanied by a shift in the threshold voltage from 3 V for untreated devices to -2 V for OTS treated devices. The trap density at the interface between the gate dielectric and semiconductor decreased by about one order of magnitude after the surface treatment. The transistors with the OTS treated gate dielectrics were more stable over a 30-day period in air than untreated ones.  相似文献

A potential low magnetic moment standard reference material (SRM) was studied in an interlaboratory comparison. The mean and the standard deviation of the saturation moment ms, the remanent moment mr, and the intrinsic coercivity Hc of nine samples were extracted from hysteresis-loop measurements. Samples were measured by thirteen laboratories using inductive-field loopers, vibrating-sample magnetometers, alternating-gradient force magnetometers, and superconducting quantum-interference-device magnetometers. NiFe films on Si substrates had saturation moment measurements reproduced within 5 % variation among the laboratories. The results show that a good candidate for an SRM must have a highly square hysteresis loop (mr/ms > 90 %), Hc ≈ 400 A·m−1 (5 Oe), and ms ≈ 2 × 10−7 A·m2 (2 × 10−4 emu).  相似文献

The specific volumes of unvulcanized natural rubber and of a peroxide-cured vulcanizate of natural rubber were measured at pressures of 1–500 kg/cm2 at temperatures from 0 to 25 °C. Observations on mercury-filled dilatometers were made through a window in the pressure system. No time effects or hysteresis phenomena were observed. The specific volume V in cm3/e over the range studied can be represented by VV0,25{1 + A(t ? 25)}{1 + [α25k1(t ? 25)]P + [β25k2(t ? 25)]P2}where P is the pressure in kg/cm2, and t the temperature in °C. The constants for the unvulcanized and for the peroxide-cured samples are:
  • V0,25= 1.0951 and 1.1032 cm3/g;
  • 104A = 6.54 and 6.36 per degree;
  • 106α25= −50.5 and −50.4 (kg/cm2)−1;
  • 106k1 = −0.227 and −0.203 per degree;
  • 109β25= 10 and 11.5 (kg/cm2)−2;
  • and 109k2=0.048 and 0.073 per degree, respectively. The compressibility of unvulcanized natural rubber at 25° and 1 kg/cm2 is thus 50.5×10−6 (kg/cm2)−1 falling to 40.6×10−6 (kg/cm2) −1 at a pressure of 500 kg/cm2. It is concluded that a low degree of vulcanization produces no significant changes in the constants listed. The values are not far different from those obtained by extrapolating to zero sulfur content the observations of Scott on the rubbersulfur system. Calculations of values of compressibility (and its reciprocal the bulk modulus), “internal pressure”, bulk wave velocity, difference between specific heats, and several other physical properties are in reasonable agreement with those obtained by direct observation by other workers. For the prediction of values at pressures above 500 kg/cm2 the use of the Tait equation is recommended.

A systematic study of La-based perovskite-type oxides from the viewpoint of their electronic conduction properties was performed. LaCo0.5Ni0.5Oδ was found to be a promising candidate as a replacement for standard metals used in oxide electrodes and wiring that are operated at temperatures up to 1173 K in air because of its high electrical conductivity and stability at high temperatures. LaCo0.5Ni0.5Oδ exhibits a high conductivity of 1.9 × 103 S cm−1 at room temperature (R.T.) because of a high carrier concentration n of 2.2 × 1022 cm−3 and a small effective mass m∗ of 0.10 me. Notably, LaCo0.5Ni0.5Oδ exhibits this high electrical conductivity from R.T. to 1173 K, and little change in the oxygen content occurs under these conditions. LaCo0.5Ni0.5Oδ is the most suitable for the fabrication of oxide electrodes and wiring, though La1−xSrxCoOδ and La1−xSrxMnOδ also exhibit high electronic conductivity at R.T., with maximum electrical conductivities of 4.4 × 103 S cm−1 for La0.5Sr0.5CoOδ and 1.5 × 103 S cm−1 for La0.6Sr0.4MnOδ because oxygen release occurs in La1−xSrxCoOδ as elevating temperature and the electrical conductivity of La0.6Sr0.4MnOδ slightly decreases at temperatures above 400 K.  相似文献

Carrier-free 209Po solution standards have been prepared and calibrated. The standards, which will be disseminated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology as Standard Reference Material SRM 4326, consist of (5.1597 ±0.0024) g of a solution of polonium in nominal 2 mol · L−1 hydrochloric acid (having a solution density of (1.031±0.004) g · mL−1 at 22 °C) that is contained in 5 mL flame-sealed borosilicate glass ampoules, and are certified to contain a 209Po alpha-particle emission rate concentration of (85.42±0.29) s−1 · g−1 (corresponding to a 209Po activity concentration of (85.83 ±0.30) Bq · g−1) as of the reference time of 1200 EST 15 March 1994. The calibration was based on 4πα liquid scintillation (LS) measurements with two different LS counting systems and under wide variations in measurement and sample conditions. Confirmatory measurements by 2πα gas-flow proportional counting were also performed. The only known radionuclidic impurity, based on α- and photon-emission spectrometry, is a trace quantity of 208Po. The 208Po to 209Po impurity ratio as of the reference time was 0.00124 ±0.00020. All of the above cited uncertainty intervals correspond to a combined standard uncertainty multiplied by a coverage factor of k = 2. Although 209Po is nearly a pure α emitter with only a weak electron capture branch to 209Bi, LS measurements of the 209Po a decay are confounded by an a transition to a 2.3 keV (Jπ= 1/2) level in 205Pb which was previously unknown to be a delayed isomeric state.  相似文献

Measurements have been made of the frequencies of the infrared absorption lines of CO2 in the region from 1850 cm−1 to 2150 cm−1. Observations were made at various pressures and pathlengths up to a maximum of 72 meter-atmospheres. Vibration-rotation constants were obtained characterizing the transitions 111c0–000, 111d0–000, 031c0–000, 031d0–000, 200–011c0, I22c0–011c0, 122d0–011d0 for C12O2. The 111c0–000 band due to the C13O2 molecule was also measured.  相似文献

The hunting spider Cupiennius salei uses airflow generated by flying insects for the guidance of its prey-capture jump. We investigated the velocity field of the airflow generated by a freely flying blowfly close to the flow sensors on the spider''s legs. It shows three characteristic phases (I–III). (I) When approaching, the blowfly induces an airflow signal near the spider with only little fluctuation (0.013 ± 0.006 m s−1) and a strength that increases nearly exponentially with time (maximum: 0.164 ± 0.051 m s−1 s.d.). The spider detects this flow while the fly is still 38.4 ± 5.6 mm away. The fluctuation of the airflow above the sensors increases linearly up to 0.037 m s−1 with the fly''s altitude. Differences in the time of arrival and intensity of the fly signal at different legs probably inform the spider about the direction to the prey. (II) Phase II abruptly follows phase I with a much higher degree of fluctuation (fluctuation amplitudes: 0.114 ± 0.050 m s−1). It starts when the fly is directly above the sensor and corresponds to the time-dependent flow in the wake below and behind the fly. Its onset indicates to the spider that its prey is now within reach and triggers its jump. The spider derives information on the fly''s position from the airflow characteristics, enabling it to properly time its jump. The horizontal velocity of the approaching fly is reflected by the time of arrival differences (ranging from 0.038 to 0.108 s) of the flow at different legs and the exponential velocity growth rate (16–79 s−1) during phase I. (III) The air flow velocity decays again after the fly has passed the spider.  相似文献

High-accuracy transmission measurements at an optical wavelength of 633 nm and mechanical measurements of the thickness of a 13-µm thick silicon-crystal film have been used to calculate the absorption and extinction coefficients of silicon at 633 nm. The results are 3105±62 cm−1 and 0.01564±0.00031, respectively. These results are about 15% less than current handbook data for the same quantities, but are in good agreement with a recent fit to one set of data described in the literature.  相似文献

Microcrystals of α-tetragonal (α-t) boron with unit cell parameters a=9.05077(6) and c=5.13409(6) Å and measured density 2.16–2.22 g cm−3 were obtained by pyrolysis of decaborane B10H14 at pressures of 8–9 GPa and temperatures of 1100–1600 C. The crystal structure is in good agreement with the model proposed by Hoard et al (1958 J. Am. Chem. Soc. 80 4507). However, compared to the original model, we found small deformations of icosahedra and changes in the interatomic distances within the unit cell of the synthesized α-t boron.  相似文献
