In this study, a model for a plug-flow fluidized bed dryer under steady-state conditions was presented. The model was based on differential equations; thus the bed of the dryer was divided horizontally and vertically into major and minor control volumes, respectively. Each control volume was composed of two thermodynamic systems: solid and gas. The mass and energy balances of the particles in the major control volume based on the axial dispersion were developed to derive the axial profiles of solid moisture content and temperature. To derive the variation of gas humidity and temperature along the bed height and hence the axial profiles of outlet gas humidity and temperature, the mass and energy balances in the gas over the minor control volume, considering the plug flow of gas through the bed, were developed. The model was validated by comparing the simulation results with the experimental data obtained by drying the long-grain rough rice under steady-state conditions in a laboratory-scale, plug-flow fluidized bed dryer. A very satisfactory agreement between the simulation and the experimental data of solid moisture content, solid temperature, and outlet gas humidity and temperature was achieved. Also, the effects of inlet gas temperature, weir height, and inlet dry solid mass flow rate on the simulated axial profiles of solid moisture content and temperature, humidity difference between inlet and outlet gas, and outlet gas temperature were investigated.  相似文献

The desorption process of volatile organic compounds(VOC) from a polymer adsorbent in counter-current multistage fluidized bed was studied. And a mathematical model considering the mass transfer dynamics was developed, which was validated from experiment data. The gaseous ethyl acetate mass transfer was discussed, and the limiting step is the intraparticle mass transfer of the desorption process. The value of intraparticle mass transfer coefficient is between 1.85 × 10~(-6) and 1.38 × 10~(-5) m·s~(-1) under temperature of 100–160 °C. Experiments under different operating conditions were carried out. The effects of operating conditions such as gas–solid flow ratio,gas inlet temperature and total stage number of multistage fluidized bed on outlet VOCs concentration and desorption efficiency were discussed. The maximum outlet VOCs concentration and corresponding desorption efficiency of the multistage fluidized bed desorber was calculated under different gas inlet temperatures and total stage numbers.  相似文献

Drying of water treatment process sludge in a fluidized bed dryer   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
The drying characteristics of water treatment process (WTP) sludge were investigated with a fluidized bed. The equilibrium moisture ratio of WTP sludge increased with relative humidity and decreased with temperature of drying air. However, equilibrium moisture ratio of WTP sludge was more sensitively dependent on relative humidity than temperature of drying air. When the sludge was dried in a batch fluidized bed, the drying rate of sludge decreased as the moisture ratio of sludge in the bed decreased. The periods of constant drying rates were apparently not observed on the drying rate curves. In addition, the maximum drying rates were increased with bed temperature and superficial air velocity. As the fluidized bed was operated continuously, the degree of drying of WTP sludge increased with bed temperature but was weakly dependent on superficial air velocity. However, the drying efficiency was decreased with bed temperature and relatively insensitive to superficial air velocity and increased with feed rate of sludge.  相似文献

A modified three-phase model is proposed for batch drying of fine powders in an inert medium fluidized bed. The overall heat and mass transfer coefficients between the interstitial gas and solid phases have been determined by the proposed surface-stripping model in which the Biot number is a governing parameter. The effects of gas velocity, inlet gas temperature and mass ratio of starch to inert particles on the drying characteristics of starch in a 0.083 m ID × 0.80 m high medium fluidized bed have been determined. Based on the proposed model, the internal resistance of mass transfer at the powder is equal to the external resistance. The model predicts well the bed temperature, humidity of outlet gas, moisture content of solid particles, heat and mass transfer in an inert medium fluidized bed.  相似文献

Experiments were conducted in a circulating fluidized bed, having perforated plates as internals covering wide range in the operating parameters. The effects of various operating parameters, i.e., initial moisture content, temperature, and flow rate, of the heating medium and solid circulation rate on the rate of drying have been critically examined. It has been observed from the present investigation that the presence of internals enhances the solids holdup in the riser of circulating fluidized bed. The drying efficiency of a circulating fluidized bed with internals has been compared with the drying performance of a circulating fluidized bed without internals under the same operating conditions.  相似文献

The effects of gas velocity (0.32 to 0.67 m/s), inlet gas temperature (25 to 100 °C) and the mass ratio of starch to inert particles (0.1 to 0.4) on the drying rate of starch in a 0.083 m-ID × 0.80 m-high inert medium fluidized bed were investigated. The drying mechanism in an inert medium fluidized bed can be classified into adhesion-dispersion, evaporation and disintegration steps. The drying rate increases with the increasing inlet gas temperature and velocity; the rates being about 10 times those reported for an agitated pan dryer. However, the drying rate decreases slightly as the mass ratio of starch to inert particles increases. Also, the drying rate exhibits a maximum at an optimum bed porosity. The drying rate data obtained in an inert medium fluidized bed have been correlated with the relevant dimensionless groups, i.e. Stefan and particle Reynolds numbers based on the theory of isotropic turbulence.  相似文献

通过测定流化床料层压差,研究了多层流化床顶层进料均匀性、进气及排气方式对多层流化床流化料层高度均匀性的影响。结果表明,布料越均匀,上中二料层高度越接近,且在低气速下易于形成较良好的流化层,但随着气速增大,其影响逐渐减弱;在低气速下进气方式对中下二料层均匀性有较大影响,但随气速增大影响也减弱,底部进气方式更易达到较好的料层均匀性;流化床的排气方式对流化料层基本无影响。因此均匀的布料和较均匀的进气预分布有助于均化各料层高度,并拓宽多层流化床的操作弹性。  相似文献

Continuous fluidized bed drying is widely used to remove moisture or solvents from granular materials. It is known that different residence times of the wet particles may lead to a distribution of product properties, e.g. different moistures. The prediction of such moisture distributions in fluidized bed dryers is of particular interest in industrial practice. In the present study, a simple analytical approach is introduced to calculate moisture distributions at the outlet of a continuous fluidized bed dryer. The model provides an analytical solution of the simple one-dimensional population balances. It will be contrasted with a traditional model approach based on averages and with experimental investigations conducted in a lab scale fluidized bed dryer under variation of the particle and the gas flow rate. Furthermore, the moisture distributions of the dried product were estimated by single particle measurements using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. It will be demonstrated that the developed analytical approach is capable to predict such moisture distributions for continuous drying processes.  相似文献

用有限差分法数值求解一个热、质传递耦合模型,理论研究多孔物料流化床干燥过程。方程离散采用全隐格式的控制容积方法,三对角矩阵法(TDMA)用来求解线性方程组。选用球形的苹果丁作为多孔物料。在典型操作条件下,通过分析温度、饱和度和压力的分布侧形,讨论了物料内部的热、质传递机理。在对比条件下,考察了气体入口温度、气速和床面积因子对干燥过程的影响。结果表明:干燥过程受气、固相间的耦合传热传质的影响十分明显,干燥时间随气体入口温度和气速的提高而减少;随床面积因子的增大而增加。  相似文献

An engineering application case study on a two‐fluid flow model for the control of industrial drying operations is reported. The mathematical model of this process was numerically solved by a computer code developed in FORTRAN language and was validated through data taken from PVC drying performed in an industrial continuous fluidized‐bed dryer. The predicted steady‐state outlet temperature and PVC moisture content values agree with the real data observed on the industrial plant. This model was also used to predict the temperature and concentration profiles inside the dryer as a function of time as a response to the disturbances and variations on the PVC water content at the dryer inlet.  相似文献

Wet batches of placebo pharmaceutical granule were dried at inlet superficial gas velocities of 0.64 and 1.3 m/s in a Glatt GPCG-1 fluidized bed. Using pressure fluctuation analysis, the hydrodynamic behaviour indicates a transition from a multiple bubbling regime to a coalescence dominated regime as drying proceeds. The transitional fluidization behaviour is linked to the physical mechanisms associated with the constant and falling rate periods of drying porous materials. Excess surface moisture present during the constant rate period increases interparticle forces through liquid bridging. These liquid bridges stabilize the bed structure which limits bubble formation in the bed. Once the falling rate period is reached, the liquid bridges cannot be maintained and bubble coalescence increases. The resulting bubbling bed hydrodynamics can be explained using the simple two-phase model proposed by Toomey and Johnstone [1952. Gas fluidization of solid particles. The drying characteristics (critical moisture content, equilibrium moisture content, constant drying rate and effective diffusivity) of various particles (gypsum, millet, polyvinyl chloride and silica gel) using a thermogravimetric analyzer were measured. The experiments were performed in the gas temperature range of 40 to 100 °C under isothermal conditions. The drying rate curve was mainly dependent on the moisture content, particle size, gas temperature and the internal structure of the solid particles. The equilibrium moisture content of solid particles decreased with increasing gas temperature, while the critical moisture content and the effective dispersion coefficient increased with increasing gas temperature. The effective diffusion coefficients of both PVC and gypsum particles were not able to be determined by Fick’s law since the experimental data were not well matched with the model predicted values, which consisted of the drying time in the falling-rate drying period.  相似文献

The control of the dried product's moisture content is of importance in the production of fuel pellets. Tests have been made in air and superheated steam in a spouted bed using the outlet temperature of the drying medium as a control parameter of the dried material's moisture content. For superheated steam different settings for the inlet medium temperature are also used. In the moisture content interval of 8-17% wet base there is a linear correlation between the dried material moisture content and the outlet temperature of the drying medium. When drying nonscreened sawdust in a spouted bed it is recommendable to use the outlet temperature of the drying medium as a control parameter of the dried material moisture content. This is independent of the size of the sawdust, whether superheated steam or air is used as a drying medium.  相似文献

This article describes the results of calculations of specific energy consumption, Es, performed on a well-mixed fluidized bed dryer simulator. Exhaust air temperature-humidity loci required to yield a specified outlet moisture content were also determined. Most of the calculations related to solids whose drying rate was gas-film controlled. Six model drying curves were employed to examine the effects of drying rate and hygroscopicity in addition to the normal operating parameters. The results indicated that Es was highest for slow-drying hygroscopic solids and lowest for fast-drying, non-hygroscopic solids. Specific energy consumption increased with decreasing bed temperature and outlet moisture content and with increasing heat loss but was independent of solids loading and airflow rate. For both the aforementioned solids and a much slower drying material (wheat), there was close agreement between the zero heat loss data and a single theoretical curve approximating the performance of an ideal adiabatic dryer. Distinct differences between the behavior of well-mixed and plug flow fluidized bed dryers are reported.  相似文献

The effect of water blanching treatment and the inlet air temperature on drying kinetics as well as the quality attributes of carrot cubes dried in a spout–fluidized bed dryer at 60, 70, 80, and 90°C were analyzed. The material shrinkage and the rehydration potential were calculated to assess the changes in quality of dried carrots. It was found that the value of the air velocity during the drying of carrot cubes in a spout–fluidized bed dryer should be related to the moisture content of the carrot particles. A high value of air velocity at the beginning of the drying cycle and a lower value for the later stages were also required. The linear equation was correlated to the data of shrinkage of raw and blanched carrots. Blanching significantly influenced the coefficients in the shrinkage model derived for drying of carrot cubes in a spout–fluidized bed dryer, while drying temperature did not influence the shrinkage of carrot particles. The intensity of heat and mass transfer during spout–fluidized drying of carrot cubes was dependent on the drying temperature. A correlation was developed to calculate the values of effective moisture diffusivity of dried carrot cubes as a function of the moisture content and temperature of the material. It was observed that for any given time of rehydration, both the moisture content and the rehydration ratio calculated for samples dried at 60°C were higher than for samples dried at temperatures of 60, 70, 80, and 90°C.  相似文献

Adipic acid is a white crystalline solid and is the most industrially important of all aliphatic dicarboxylic acids. Drying is the principal unit operation after its crystallization. The acid has a tendency to agglomerate when moistened, due to its high cohesiveness. The fluidization regime does not occur and the particles cannot be adequately treated in a conventional fluidized bed. This article deals with the drying of adipic acid in a vibrofluidized bed. The equipment used in the drying tests was specially designed and constructed to maintain the fluidized regime of fine particles of moistened adipic acid. The drying curves presented the constant and the falling rate periods, yielding final moisture contents that depend mainly on the drying temperature. The quality of the dried acid was also verified by the crystals' granulometric analysis, which showed breakage of crystals for drying at higher air temperatures. Results showed to be satisfactory for drying adipic acid with moisture content up to 5.1% w.b. in the vibrofluidized bed, keeping a high degree of bed homogeneity and quality of the fluidized state.  相似文献

针对含内构件的循环流化床,以石英砂为物料,使用动态压力传感器测量了含内构件的流化床中气固两相流的动态压力,分析了床内的瞬时压力特性. 结果表明,在进出口总压降中,文丘里压降最大,占主床压降的60%以上. 表观气速和固体颗粒循环流率共同影响循环流化床内的压力特性. 压力瞬时波动功率谱分析表明,压力波动对应一个主频,表观气速越小、颗粒循环流率越大时,压力波动越大,且循环流化床底部压力波动比上部大. 加入内构件能有效引导气流,使流动更均匀.  相似文献
