Improving the vacuum would increase the insulation capacity of commercially available glass containers by a factor of about two. To do this, pressures of 10?4 mbar must be attained. Different approaches were taken to meet this objective. As an alternative to today's commonly practiced sealing method, three possibilities are introduced which eliminate the necessity of pump stub narrowing which causes reduced conductance. Furthermore, depending on the sealing process used, the gases occuring during sealing are either avoided completly or they can at least be reduced by having the chance of exact temperature control resp. by a lower separation temperature. A completly different approach was taken by using Getters, of which a metal hydride on a TiVMn base proved especially suitable. It is activated by heat and can be integrated into the normal production process without any problem. Aside from a shorter pump period, the added advantage here is the containment of the gasses occuring during sealing as well as that of the longterm gasses.  相似文献

The spectral properties of the incidence matrix of the communication graph are exploited to provide solutions to two multi-agent control problems. In particular, we consider the problem of state agreement with quantized communication and the problem of distance-based formation control. In both cases, stabilizing control laws are provided when the communication graph is a tree. It is shown how the relation between tree graphs and the null space of the corresponding incidence matrix encode fundamental properties for these two multi-agent control problems.  相似文献

The flow of a model non-polar liquid through small carbon nanotubes is studied using non-equilibrium molecular dynamics simulation. We explain how a membrane of small-diameter nanotubes can transport this liquid faster than a membrane consisting of larger-diameter nanotubes. This effect is shown to be back-pressure dependent, and the reasons for this are explored. The flow through the very smallest nanotubes is shown to depend strongly on the depth of the potential inside, suggesting atomic separation can be based on carbon interaction strength as well as physical size. Finally, we demonstrate how increasing the back-pressure can counter-intuitively result in lower exit velocities from a nanotube. Such studies are crucial for optimisation of nanotube membranes.  相似文献

A beam of charged vortex rings is used to study the vorticity present downstream from an array of 2-m-diameter orifices through which a steady flow of superfluid 4He is driven at known velocity and pressure head p. From the measured attentuation of the beam at low p, we infer a density of vortex line less than predicted by the Feynman critical velocity model. Possible explanations are considered. We find evidence that an interconnected tangle of vortices is formed above a certain value of p, which is in reasonable agreement with theory, at least for one orifice plate. Charge transfer and transient attenuation measurements indicate that this tangle decays in part into small vortex rings. High hydrostatic pressure (HHP) becomes more and more interesting for life science research, since it can be employed to inactivate various cells. To directly monitor "cells under pressure," the development of an optical high-pressure chamber is required. Therefore, an optical pressure chamber that can be used for up to 300 MPa was constructed. This chamber has already been described as a tool for in situ observation of dynamic changes of microscopic structures in bright field as well as phase contrast. In combination with an inverted microscope, we obtained brilliant microscopic color pictures with an optical resolution more than 0.56 microm. Here, we demonstrate the capabilities of the HHP cell, in combination with epifluorescence microscopy. Using a nonadherent human B-cell line (Raji, ATCC CCL 86), stained with the fluorescent dyes propidium iodide, Hoechst 33342, or dihexyloxacarbocyanine iodide, we were able to show that the system is suitable to perform fluorescence microscopic analyses, with pressures up to 300 MPa, with viable mammalian cells.  相似文献
