Nabesna Glacier is one of the longest land-terminus mountain glaciers in North America. However, its flow has never been studied. We derived detailed motion patterns of Nabesna Glacier in winter and spring 1994–1996 from the synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images acquired by the European Remote Sensing satellites (ERS-1 and ERS-2) using interferometric SAR (InSAR) techniques. Special effort was made to assess the accuracy of the motion estimates, and remove data points with high uncertainty from the motion profiles, enabling us to obtain reliable glacier flow patterns along the highly curved main course of Nabesna Glacier. The results, covering 80 km of the 87 km main course of the glacier, were used to delineate four distinctive sections in terms of spatial and temporal variability of the glacier speed: (1) the upper section where glacier flow was apparently random both temporally and spatially presumably due to development of crevasses; (2) the upper-middle section with relatively steady flow around 0.27 to 0.4 m/day; (3) the middle section with a stable pattern of acceleration from 0.27–0.3 m/day to the maximum about 0.67–0.73 m/day, followed by a general deceleration to 0.17–0.33 m/day before reaching (4) the lower section where the glacier motion was generally slow yet highly variable although uncertainty in the estimation is high. Occurrence of the flow maximum, as well as many local maxima and minima at consistent locations over different periods suggests that the valley geometry affect the overall flow pattern. On top of this general trend, many small-scale temporal/spatial variations in the glacier flow patterns were observed along the glacier, especially in the lower sections. On average, the flow speeds were in the range of 0.3 to 0.7 m/day; however this lacks any measurements of summer flow speeds which are expected to be significantly higher.  相似文献

采用定性研究和定量分析相结合的方法,对地下水对节理边坡稳定性的影响进行了较为全面的研究.首先采用离散元方法进行了节理边坡地下水流动的数值模拟:其次用不确定性方法——模糊点估计方法对有水和无水作用两种情况下的边坡稳定性进行了模糊随机可靠性对比分析.研究表明,地下水的存在使边坡的破坏面积增大,破坏概率剧增,边坡可靠性指标极大地降低,因此地下水对节理边坡稳定性具有不可忽视的作用.  相似文献

随着通信技术的发展,新型业务逐渐增多,传统的通信网络无法满足各种业务之间巨大的性能需求差异,未来的通信网络逐渐向异构网络进行发展。针对异构网络中资源调配与垂直切换的问题,利用虚拟网络技术与资源虚拟化技术设计了异构网络中的无线资源管理方法,并设计了子网间垂直切换算法。该算法利用层次分析法与熵权法得到各网络参数的综合权值,加权得到各网络的效用值并依此选择最优网络。通过搭建系统平台验证了设计的异构无线网络的有效性,为后续异构无线网络的研究提供了参考。  相似文献

This paper presents the problems in the implementation of multipoint connections at switching level using the example of an ATM switching network. By choosing the proper routeing mechanism and the appropriate architecture of the switching element, a switching network can gradually be adapted to an increasing share of multipoint traffic. The first section describes the problems with the handling of multipoint connections within a multiple stage connection oriented switching network. In particular this refers to the routeing of the cells through the switching network. Several alternatives on this issue are discussed. Both, the selected approach based on a differentiated self-routeing mechanism and the corresponding cell format are introduced. In the second part of this article several switch architectures are compared in respect of their multipoint capability. It is demonstrated that at present the most promising solution are switching elements based on the principle of central buffering. A single chip solution using this concept is employed in the presented switching network.  相似文献

The photoelectrochemical (PEC) activity of microstructured electrodes remains low despite the highly enlarged surface area and enhanced light harvesting. To obtain a deeper understanding of the effect of 3D geometry on the PEC performance, well‐defined WO3/n‐Si and WO3/pn‐Si micropillar arrays are fabricated and subjected to a quantitative analysis of the relationship between the geometry of the micropillars (length, pitch) and their PEC activity. For WO3/n‐Si micropillars, it is found that the photocurrent increases for WO3/n‐Si pillars, but not in proportion to the increase in surface area that results from increased pillar length or reduced pillar pitch. Optical simulations show that a reduced pillar pitch results in areas of low light intensity due to a shadowing effect. For WO3/pn‐Si micropillar photoelectrodes, the p–n junction enhances the photocurrent density up to a factor of 4 at low applied bias potential (0.8 V vs RHE) compared to the WO3/n‐Si. However, the enhancement in photocurrent density increases first and then decreases with reduced pillar pitch, which scales with the photovoltage generated by the p–n junction. This is related to an increased dead layer of the p–n junction Si surface, which results in a decreased photovoltage even though the total surface area increases.  相似文献

Multistandard channelisation for base stations is a big application of generalised discrete Fourier transform modulated filter banks (GDFT‐FBs) in digital communications. For technologies such as software‐defined radio and cognitive radio, nonuniform channelisers must be used if frequency bands are shared by different standards. However, GDFT‐FB‐based nonuniform channelisers can suffer from high filter orders when applied to wideband input signals. In this paper, various combinations of GDFT‐FB with the frequency response masking technique are proposed and evaluated for both uniform and nonuniform channelisation applications. Results show that the proposed techniques achieve savings in both the number of filter coefficients and the number of operations per input sample. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Evaluation of abundantly available agro-industrial by-products for their bioactive compounds and biological activities is beneficial in particular for the food and pharmaceutical industries. In this study, rapeseed meal, cottonseed meal and soybean meal were investigated for the presence of bioactive compounds and antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, xanthine oxidase and tyrosinase inhibitory activities. Methanolic extracts of rapeseed meal showed significantly (P < 0.01) higher phenolics and flavonoids contents; and significantly (P < 0.01) higher DPPH and nitric oxide free radical scavenging activities when compared to that of cottonseed meal and soybean meal extracts. Ferric thiocyanate and thiobarbituric acid tests results showed rapeseed meal with the highest antioxidant activity (P < 0.01) followed by BHT, cotton seed meal and soybean meal. Rapeseed meal extract in xanthine oxidase and tyrosinase inhibitory assays showed the lowest IC(50) values followed by cottonseed and soybean meals. Anti-inflammatory assay using IFN-γ/LPS stimulated RAW 264.7 cells indicated rapeseed meal is a potent source of anti-inflammatory agent. Correlation analysis showed that phenolics and flavonoids were highly correlated to both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. Rapeseed meal was found to be promising as a natural source of bioactive compounds with high antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, xanthine oxidase and tyrosinase inhibitory activities in contrast to cotton and soybean meals.  相似文献

The multidomain, catalytically self‐sufficient cytochrome P450 BM‐3 from Bacillus megaterium (P450BM3) constitutes a versatile enzyme for the oxyfunctionalization of organic molecules and natural products. However, the limited stability of the diflavin reductase domain limits the utility of this enzyme for synthetic applications. In this work, a consensus‐guided mutagenesis approach was applied to enhance the thermal stability of the reductase domain of P450BM3. Upon phylogenetic analysis of a set of distantly related P450s (>38 % identity), a total of 14 amino acid substitutions were identified and evaluated in terms of their stabilizing effects relative to the wild‐type reductase domain. Recombination of the six most stabilizing mutations generated two thermostable variants featuring up to tenfold longer half‐lives at 50 °C and increased catalytic performance at elevated temperatures. Further characterization of the engineered P450BM3 variants indicated that the introduced mutations increased the thermal stability of the FAD‐binding domain and that the optimal temperature (Topt) of the enzyme had shifted from 25 to 40 °C. This work demonstrates the effectiveness of consensus mutagenesis for enhancing the stability of the reductase component of a multidomain P450. The stabilized P450BM3 variants developed here could potentially provide more robust scaffolds for the engineering of oxidation biocatalysts.  相似文献

A three‐dimensional model of particulate flows using the Reynolds Averaged Navier‐Stokes method is presented. The governing equations of the gas–solids flow are supplemented with appropriate closure equations to take into account all the relevant forces exerted on the solid particles, such as particle‐turbulence interactions, turbulence modulation, particle–particle interactions, particle–wall interactions, as well as gravitational, viscous drag, and lift forces. A finite volume numerical technique was implemented for the numerical solution of the problem. The method has been validated by comparing its results with the limited number of available experimental data for the velocity and turbulence intensity of the gas–particle flow. The results show that the presence of particles in the flow has a significant effect on all the flow variables. Most notably, the distribution of all the parameters becomes asymmetric, because of the gravitational effect on the particles and particle sedimentation. © 2011 American Institute of Chemical Engineers AIChE J, 2011  相似文献
