The extraction equilibria of various di- and tripeptides with di-2-ethylhexylphosphoric acid (D2EHPA) were studied at low pH values. The complex extracted to organic phase consisted of one molecule of peptide and two molecules of D2EHPA dimer. The extraction constants of the peptides correlated well with the distribution coefficients of peptides between 1-octanol and water, which is a measure of hydrophobicity. The permeation rates of peptides through an emulsion liquid membrane were examined by using D2EHPA as a carrier, Span 80 as an emulsifier and kerosene as a diluent. The rates varied considerably with peptide type, depending upon the hydrophobicity.  相似文献

This paper presents a method of predicting the steady‐state performance of a new hybrid‐excitation synchronous machine (HESM) theoretically. The field pole of this HESM is axially divided into two parts; one is an excitation part and the other a permanent‐magnet (PM) part. A nonlinear equivalent circuit, which can include the saliency of the rotor and the magnetic saturation due to the iron core, is derived. Based on this equivalent circuit, the steady‐state performance of the HESM is calculated, and the results are confirmed through experiments. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This paper describes a load dispatch method which minimizes power cost—[fuel cost]/[electric output]—for a power system with thermal plants and energy storage facilities. The proposed method employs fractional programming to convert a minimization problem with fractional objective function to a series of quadratic minimization problems, and semidefinite programming to solve converted problems. The method provides the optimum time‐dependent power output/input and storage level of energy storage facilities as well as time‐dependent power output of thermal plants. The method has been applied to a power system with five thermal plants, two energy storage facilities of various performances, and five load demands. The optimum load scheme of four time mesh points is obtained for the thermal plants and energy storage facilities. The fractional programming successfully converges the optimal scheme through a few iterations. DNA-wrapped single-wall carbon nanotubes (DNA-SWNT hybrids) prepared from different diameter HiPco- and Arc-SWNTs were investigated by atomic force microscopy. The mean diameter of DNA-HiPco-SWNT hybrids is 1.94 nm that is consistent with one HiPco-SWNT (~ 0.9 nm) wrapped by DNA (~ 1 nm). On the other hand, the mean diameter of DNA-Arc-SWNT hybrids is 3.74 nm that can correspond to one Arc-SWNT (~ 1.4 nm) wrapped by several layers of DNA. It is suggested that the DNA-wrapping mechanism for large diameter Arc-SWNTs is different from that for small diameter HiPco-SWNTs.  相似文献

Sapphire plates, cut parallel to an {0001} plane, have been implanted with 300 keV nickel ions to doses ranging from 5×1012 to 1×1017 Ni cm–2 at specimen temperatures of 100, 300 and 523 K, in order to investigate the effect of implantation temperature on the mechanical property changes in sapphire caused by ion implantation. The measured changes in surface hardness, surface fracture toughness and bulk flexural strength were found to depend strongly on the implantation temperature, and were largely correlated with the residual surface compressive stress measured by using a cantilever beam technique. The surface amorphization that occurred only by the implantation at 100 K and at doses larger than 2×10s15 Ni cm–2 reduced the hardness to 0.6 relative to the value of the unimplanted sapphire, and considerably increased the surface plasticity. Furthermore, the amorphization was found to involve a large volume expansion of 30% and to change drastically the apparent shape and size of a Knoop indentation flaw made prior to implantation. This effect was suggested to reduce stress concentrations at surface flaws and hence to increase the flexural strength.  相似文献

The permeation and separation characteristics of aqueous polymer solutions using acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer membranes were investigated under various conditions. The membranes obtained from dimethyl sulfoxide solution of acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer have not a sufficient reproducibility and stability of permeation. These lacks were improved by adding ethylene glycol or glycerol to the casting solution and treating the membranes with pressure. The permeation and separation characteristics were influenced significantly by the additional amount of above additives, the heat treatment temperature, and the operating pressure. It was found that the concentration polarization of poly(vinyl alcohol) molecules onto the surface of the acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer membranes is smaller than that onto hydrophilic polymer membranes such as membranes of cellulose acetate, cellulose nitrate, and nylon 12, etc. Moreover, the acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer membranes show better performance for separation and concentrating of aqueous polymer solutions than hydrophilic membranes.  相似文献

Type-A zeolite evenly covered with hydroxyapatite thin layers was prepared using hydrothermal treatment at 120°C for 8 h under autogenous pressure. The hydroxyapatite needlelike nanocrystals, 100–200 nm in diameter and 30 nm in thickness, were grown under the reaction between discharged Ca2+ ions from type-A zeolite and PO43− ions in (NH4)3PO4 solution. The preferential orientations of the c -axis of hydroxyapatite crystals perpendicular to a zeolite surface were observed using transmission electron microscopy. The crystal structure of type-A zeolite was not destroyed under the reaction, but the surface morphology was changed only with complete covering of scaly hydroxyapatite particles.  相似文献

A simultaneous detecting circuit system of centers and lengths of some lines in one dimension is presented applying an electronic circuit model of the nervous axon with respect to signal transmission. This model consists of series of one basic section, and has functions of Neuristor. The circuit system has a paralell processing function. It is constructed by three layers. In the first layer each visual signal of lines is changed to electric pulse signal. In the second layer edges of each line are detected, and in the third layer these detected signals are converted into voltages which correspond to lengths of the lines. These functions were confirmed experimentally using its hardware.  相似文献

Mapping of a tonal anomaly in an area of hydrocarbon microseepage was possible using a Landsat-Thematic Mapper false-colour composite consisting of TM2/3, TM4/3 and of the difference TM2/3-TM4/3, displayed as red, green and blue, respectively. In this false-colour composite, green and yellow express variations in the vegetation cover, whereas hues of magenta are related to terrain conditions representing bleached materials, which occur close to the centre of a soil gas anomaly. Simultaneous occurrence of anomalous soil gas values with magnetic and radioactive minerals suggests that a reducing environment associated with the microseepage phenomenon created the bleached materials, identified as a tonal anomaly in the enhanced TM image.  相似文献

Energy-filtering transmission electron microscopy (EFTEM) was applied for investigating interfaces between a polymer and an adhesive. The sample employed in this work is polybutylene terephtharate (PBT) sheets laminated with an epoxy adhesive. It was found that heat aging of the PBT at 180 degrees C in air for > 9 h prior to adhesion decreases the adhesion strength drastically. To investigate this unfavourable aging effect on the adhesion strength, we performed elemental mapping and image EELS using EFTEM. A weak boundary layer with a thickness of < 50 nm was visualized at the PBT-adhesive interface by elemental mapping in the sample subjected to the heat aging and image EELS revealed the origin of this layer. Thus, we clearly correlated the nanoscale interfacial structure with the adhesion strength by EFTEM.  相似文献
