A high-speed monolithic optical interface switch LSI is developed using a GaAs MSM photodetector and large-scale integrated electric circuits. This LSI operates universally as a 1.8 Gb/s optical-input/optical-output four-channel time-division switch, a 1.8 Gb/s optical-input/electrical-output 1:4 demultiplexer, a 2.0 Gb/s electrical-output 4:1 multiplexer, and a 2.8 Gb/s electrical-input/electrical-output 4×4 space-division switch. It uses a new multistage 2×2 switch block with small hardware and high-speed operation. It can be expanded to a 16×16 optical-input/optical-output time-division switch operating at up to 1.8 Gb/s for broadband-ISDN  相似文献

Picosecond optical pulse compression characteristics of chirped pulses from gain-switched distributed feedback-laser diodes (DFB-LD) transmitting through highly dispersive media are studied theoretically and experimentally. It is clarified theoretically that gain-switched chirped pulses can be compressed to about a 0.7-time bandwidth product by normal dispersion of the dispersive media and that the optimum dispersion value to obtain a minimum compressed pulse is proportional to the square of original pulsewidth. Through a dispersion, shifted single-mode fiber with -48-ps/nm normal dispersion at a 1.3-μm wavelength, gain-switched 30-ps (FWHM) pulses from a directly modulated 1.3-μm DFB-LD at a 4.4-GHz repetition rate have been successfully compressed to 6.4-ps optical pulses with a 0.86-time bandwidth product. Anabolic steroids (AS) are derivatives of androgen (testosterone and its close relatives). AS have been primarily developed for clinical use as anabolic agents with the expectation that they would be relatively less androgenic than testosterone and its close relatives. Various AS are applied to clinical use, but none is free from androgenic activity. Relation between chemical structure and anabolic-androgenic potency of various AS is summarized. AS action in erythropoiesis operates through increased porphyrin formation and production of erythropoietin. Mechanism of AS action in bone formation is suggested that AS potentiate intestinal 1.25(OH)2D receptors. Identification of androgen receptors in normal human osteoblast-like cells suggest that AS act directly on receptor-mediated mechanism. The other action of AS is briefly summarized.  相似文献

Large-scale integrated (LSI) memory circuit reliability is reviewed. Reliability of large-scale integrated memory circuits is discussed. The major physical mechanisms for failures in memory LSIs and measures to counter these failures are reviewed. Fault-tolerant techniques, divided into the spare row/column line substitution. (SLS) technique and the on-chip error-correcting code (ECC) technique, developed to overcome hard and soft failures are described. While an ECL-CMOS SRAM can achieve both ultra high speed and high density, it consumes a lot of power and cannot be applied to low power supply voltage applications. This paper describes an NTL (Non Threshold Logic)-CMOS SRAM macro that consists of a PMOS access transistor CMOS memory cell, an NTL decoder with an on-chip voltage generator, and an automatic bit line signal voltage swing controller. A 32 Kb SRAM macro, which achieves a 1 ns access time at 2.5 V power supply and consumes a mere 1 W, has been developed on a 0.4 μm BiCMOS technology  相似文献

Highly efficient amplification of ultrashort optical pulses is demonstrated with a two-stage Er3+-doped optical fiber amplifier that includes an optical gate to efficiently reduce amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) generated from the first Er3+-doped fiber. A gain of 49 dB, an amplified peak power 0f 105 W, and 1.05 nJ pulse energy are achieved for 2-Mb/s, 10-ps pulses at a total pumping power of 90 mW from 1.48-μm LDs  相似文献

The group delay and dispersion, including the erbium ion contributions, of the highly erbium-doped silica planar waveguide amplifier and multicomponent glass fibre amplifiers are directly measured at different pump powers using a low coherence reflectometer and dispersive Fourier spectroscopy. This method derives the refractive index spectra of these amplifiers directly from the produced reflectograms without any physical or mathematical assumptions. The dispersion of the planar waveguide amplifier at 500 mW pumping changes between +300 and -200 ps/km/nm with a 0.4 wt.% erbium concentration.<>  相似文献
