Molecular model approach has been used to predict the dispersion characteristics of flexible polymer chains in confined geometries.
The analysis ranges from the early stage dispersion to the steady Taylor dispersion of the simple linear dumbbell model polymer
chains. For the early stasje dispersion the ray method was applied; an Aris type moments rnothod was useful for the Taylor
dispersion. Two parallel plates were chosen as a confining geometry and the specific initial condition of a point source in
the midway of the gap was chosen for simplicity. It was found that the qualitative difference in dispersion properties of
deformable polymer chains starts from the early stage compared with those of single Brownian particles. And it turns out that
one parameter, which is similar to the relative spacing of the dumbbell to the gap of confining geometries, is useful to see
the dispersion characteristics of the dumbbells. 相似文献

Recently there have been attempts in several research areas at efficiently utilizing the resources of mobile computers. Considering the properties in mobile computing environments, push-based data dissemination systems have lately attracted considerable attention. However, skewed access patterns among mobile clients makes response time worse, and they prefer to send data requests to the server explicitly through an uplink channel. A broadcast supporting an uplink channel is called a hybrid broadcast. In this paper, we devise new transaction processing algorithms for hybrid broadcasts. It is assumed that data objects that the server maintains are divided into Push_Data for periodic broadcasting and Pull_Data for on-demand service. That is, clients have to explicitly request data objects in Pull_Data. Maintaining transactional consistency in this environment without much additional cost is our main concern. Preparations of PbS-coated titanium dioxide (TiO2) and lead sulfide (PbS) nanoparticles under ultrasonic field at the multibubble sonoluminescence (MBSL) conditions were tested in water solutions. Under the optimal MBSL conditions (20 kHz and 220 W power input), PbS nanoparticles (diameter = 40-50 nm) were prepared by treating lead nitrate and thioacetamide for 20 min in water solutions. The size of PbS nanoparticles was found to be easily increased to about 90 nm in diameter by increasing the reactant concentration twice. A similar sonochemical reaction with TiO2 nanoparticles (about 20-30 nm in diameter) gave rise to PbS-coated TiO2 nanoparticles with a core/shell structure. The PbS thin film coating was quite uniform and the average coating depth of PbS on the TiO2 nanoparticles was about 2-3 nm under the described conditions. It is interesting to note that the coating depth was found to be controlled to 2-10 nm range by increasing the amounts of reactants for Pb and S twice with a sonication time of 30 min. 相似文献

The current efficiency of polymer light-emitting diodes (PLEDs) were improved using a quantum dot interlayer between a hole transport layer and an emitting layer. The quantum dot interlayer played a role of controlling the hole transport in the PLEDs and enhanced the charge balance in the emitting layer. The current efficiency of the PLEDs was increased by more than 20% by the quantum dot interlayer. In particular, the efficiency improvement was significant at high luminance due to reduced efficiency roll-off in the quantum dot-embedded PLEDs. 相似文献

High efficiency red phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes have been developed using a spirobenzofluorene type phosphine oxide (SPPO2) as a host material. The SPPO2 had a high glass transition temperature of 119 °C and a smooth surface morphology with a surface roughness less than 1 nm. The red device with the SPPO2 as a host showed a quantum efficiency of 14.3% with a current efficiency of 20.4 cd/A. 相似文献

In this letter, we studied the effects of post-deposition anneal (PDA) time and Si interface control layer (ICL) on the electrical characteristics of the MOS capacitor with high-/spl kappa/ (HfO/sub 2/) material on GaAs. Thin equivalent oxide thickness (EOT<3 nm) with excellent capacitance-voltage (C-V) characteristics has been obtained. The thickness of the Si ICL and PDA time were correlated with C-V characteristics. It was found that high temperature Si ICL deposition and longer PDA time at 600/spl deg/C improved the C-V shape, leakage current, and especially frequency dispersion (<5%). 相似文献

The device performances of spin-coated and stamp transfer printed devices were compared. There was little difference of morphology between the spin-coated and stamp transfer printed devices. However, the stamp transfer printing process was better than the spin-coating process in terms of current density, light-emitting efficiency and lifetime. This paper presents the measurement of the nonlinear mechanical properties of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) elastomer based on the mixing ratio of base polymer to curing agent. Strip-type PDMS samples with different mixing ratios were prepared using a simple coating, curing, and cutting process. A cyclic uniaxial tension test with a fixed magnitude of applied strain and a single-pull-to-failure tension test were performed with a micro-tensile tester at room temperature.Our new finding is that when the PDMS is mixed with excessive curing agent, stress softening occurs and residual strain exists in cyclic tension tests when the magnitude of the applied strain increases. For the PDMS-05 samples, in which the mixing ratio of base polymer to curing agent was 5 to 1, there were large differences in the stresses for the same strain level under loading and unloading during the first cycle with a 100% fixed strain amplitude, but the softening effect of the stress in the PDMS dropped rapidly starting from the second cycle.Nonlinear mechanical Neo-Hookean, third-order Mooney, and second-order Ogden models of three different PDMS films were computed from the stress-strain data. The results showed that all models were preferable for the small strain region of PDMS compared with other models. In the nonlinear, large strain region, only the second-order Ogden model properly described the mechanical behavior of the PDMS, while the Neo-Hookean and third-order Mooney-Rivlin models were too stiff or flexible in the measurement range. The bulk modulus of PDMS increased with the amount of curing agent in it. Therefore, the second-order Ogden model is preferable for analyzing the PDMS structure over the entire measurement range. This letter presents a highly efficient rack‐level DC power architecture combined with a node‐level DC uninterruptible power supply (UPS). The proposed system can provide almost the equivalent power efficiency of a high‐voltage DC data center without any change in the existing power infrastructure. The node‐level DC UPS combined with a power distribution board provides high power efficiency as well as lower UPS installation costs. The objective of this research paper is to assess the biosorption potential of almond shell residues for methyl orange dye. The pseudo-second-order kinetic model described the dye biosorption process with a good fitting. The relationship between the pseudo-second-order model constants and the biosorption performance was also evaluated. The equilibrium data fit well with the Langmuir isotherm model presenting that the biosorption was the monolayer coverage of dye on the biosorbent and the homogeneity of active sites for dye binding on the biosorbent surface. Based on the Langmuir model, a single-stage batch biosorber was also designed to predict the biosorbent mass for certain percentage dye removal. Besides, the standard Gibbs free energy change was also calculated to define the nature of biosorption process. These results revealed that the utilization of almond shell residues as dye biosorbent could be an interesting option from both environmental and economic point of view. 相似文献
