We have investigated the contact between a metal and an organic/polymeric (o/p) material and we have introduced a relation for carrier injection using Bardeen theory. A series of narrow barriers is considered in the semiconductor side to account for the localized nature of the carriers in the o/p material. As an application of the model, we have calculated the hopping rate of carriers in terms of the contact parameters. Also, we have discussed the hopping of carriers deep into the organic dielectric. Optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (O-OFDM) has been widely adopted as a high-speed data transmission technique in visible light communication systems. This technique usually suffers from high peak-to-average-power ratio (PAPR). In this paper, a new PAPR reduction technique is proposed for O-OFDM signals. At the transmitter, a matrix transformation with the Gaussian elements is applied to the time-domain O-OFDM signal and at the receiver, the inverse matrix is used to recover the original signal. We show that the Gaussian orthogonal matrices can reconstruct the original signals without degrading the bit error rate (BER) performance. Gram-Schmidt technique is used to orthogonalize the Gaussian matrices. Computer simulations are conducted for 16-QAM baseband modulated symbols and about 3 dB PAPR reduction gain is achieved by the proposed approach compared with conventional O-OFDM. 相似文献

The objective of any night vision system is to enable a person to see in the dark. A low-contrast image puts a contrast constraint on the human observer visibility at night. This is the basic reason for the large number of accidents at night. This research presents two proposed approaches to enhance the visibility of the infrared (IR) night vision images through an efficient histogram processing. The first approach is based on contrast limited adaptive histogram equalization. The second proposed approach depends on histogram matching. The histogram matching uses a reference visual image for converting night vision images into good quality images. InAs1?x Sb x material with an alloy composition of the absorber layer adjusted to achieve 200-K cutoff wavelengths in the 5-μm range has been grown. Compound-barrier (CB) detectors were fabricated and tested for optical response, and J dark–V d measurements were taken as a function of temperature. Based on absorption coefficient information in the literature and spectral response measurements of the midwave infrared (MWIR) nCBn detectors, an absorption coefficient formula α(Ε, x, T) is proposed. Since the presently suggested absorption coefficient is based on limited data, additional measurements of material and detectors with different x values and as a function of temperature should refine the absorption coefficient, providing more accurate parametrization. Material electronic structures were computed using a k·p formalism. From the band structure, dark-current density (J dark) as a function of bias (V d) and temperature (T) was calculated and matched to J dark–V d curves at fixed T and J dark–T curves at constant V d. There is a good match between simulation and data over a wide range of bias, but discrepancies that are not presently understood exist near zero bias. 相似文献

The high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) is one of the main drawbacks in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) communication systems, which also exists in the optical OFDM (O-OFDM) systems. In this letter, a new approach based on the discrete Hartley transform (DHT) post-coding technique is proposed to reduce PAPR of an O-OFDM signal in visible light communication systems. The proposed method is compared with Walsh-Hadamard transform (WHT) and discrete cosine transform (DCT) techniques in terms of PAPR reduction and bit error rate (BER) performance. Experimental results indicate that the proposed DHT post-coding method remarkably reduces the PAPR of an OFDM signal for optical intensity modulated direct detection systems without any corruption in the BER performance. 相似文献

In this research, wild pistachio (Pistacia vera L.) nuts and kernels were analyzed for selected geometric properties and mechanical behavior under compression loading. The average length, width and thickness arithmetic and geometric mean diameter of wild pistachio nuts at 5.83% w.b. were 13.98, 8.76, 7.25, 9.93, and 9.75 mm, while the corresponding values of kernels at 6.03% w.b. moisture content were 11.07, 5.92, 4.83, 7.21, and 6.88 mm, respectively. As the moisture content of pistachio nut increased from 5.83 to 30.73% w.b., the bulk density, apparent density and terminal velocity were found to increase from 521 to 543 kgm?3, 809 to 829 kgm?3, and 5.51 to 6.29 ms?1, respectively, whereas porosity decreased from 35.14% to 34.63%. The results revealed that wild pistachio nut required higher rupture force and energy to crack wild pistachio nuts for compression along the L-axis as compared to other two axes. 相似文献
