Two oscillating superleak transducers, one serving as generator, the other as detector, of first and second sound, situated at opposite ends of a one-dimensional resonance cavity, are considered. Included in the analysis are the dissipative effects of normal viscous slip and thermal diffusion through the porous membrane. The calculated amplitude and linewidth of the receiver response, both close to and away from the membrane resonance, show good agreement with available experimental data.  相似文献

The aggregation pheromone ofGnathotrichus retusus was isolated and identified as (S)-(+)-sulcatol (6-methyl-5-hepten-2-ol). In laboratory and field experiments,G. retusus responded to (S)-(+)-sulcatol, but not to (±)-sulcatol, which was attractive to the sympatric species,G. sulcatus. G. sulcatus did not respond to optically pure (S)-(+)-sulcatol, but began to respond when 1% (R)-(–)-sulcatol was present in an enantiomeric mixture.Research supported by the National Science Foundation, U.S.A. Nonlinear systems can be probed by driving them with two or more pure tones while measuring the intermodulation products of the drive tones in the response. We describe a digital lockin analyzer which is designed explicitly for this purpose. The analyzer is implemented on a field-programmable gate array, providing speed in analysis, real-time feedback, and stability in operation. The use of the analyzer is demonstrated for intermodulation atomic force microscopy. A generalization of the intermodulation spectral technique to arbitrary drive waveforms is discussed.  相似文献

Measuring information systems (IS) success is of great interest to both researchers and practitioners. This article examines multidimensional approaches to measuring IS success and explores the current state of IS success research through a literature review and by classifying articles published between 2003 and 2007. Based on a total of 41 academic journal and conference publications, the relevant research carried out is identified, while the research results are categorized, consolidated, and discussed. The results show that the dominant empirical research analyzes the individual impact of a certain type of information system by ascertaining users’ evaluation of it by means of surveys and then applying structural equation modeling. The DeLone and McLean Information Systems Success Model is the main theoretical basis of the reviewed empirical studies. This article provides researchers with a comprehensive review and structuring of IS success research. Furthermore, opportunities for additional development are identified and future research directions suggested.  相似文献

8-Oxo-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-oxo-dG) is emerging as a useful marker for oxidative DNA damage. Reported basal levels determined by 32P-postlabeling (PPL) method were 10-fold or more higher than those obtained with HPLC/electrochemical detection (ECD). This discrepancy was investigated. In commercial calf thymus DNA, levels of 4 +/- 1 and 64 +/- 14 8-oxo-dG per 10(6) 2'-deoxynucleosides (dN) were measured by the standard HPLC/ECD and PPL methods, respectively. DNA digestion by micrococcal nuclease/spleen phosphodiesterase and nuclease P1 (as used in the standard PPL method), followed by ECD analysis resulted in a level of 8 +/- 3. In calf thymus DNA spiked with chemically synthesized 8-oxo-dGp to give an increment of 9 8-oxo-dG/10(6) dN, the added standard produced a significant increase with HPLC/ECD but not PPL. After spiking the DNA with 90 8-oxo-dG/10(6) dN, the added 8-oxo-dGp was detectable also with PPL, with a labeling efficiency of 65%. In order to investigate the role of ionizing radiation from 32P for the higher 8-oxo-dG levels in PPL, incubation times and amounts of radioactivity in the phosphorylation reaction with commercial dGp were increased, and external irradiation of commercial dG with 32P was investigated. All modifications resulted in higher values of 8-oxo-dG measured, but the effect was not large enough to fully explain the discrepancy between PPL and HPLC/ECD. Using [gamma-33P]ATP instead of [gamma-32P]ATP or adding [33P]phosphate to a 32P-PPL assay resulted in even higher levels of 8-oxo-dG measured. The increase in 8-oxo-dG levels during the PPL workup is attributed to the presence and oxidation of unmodified dGp in the reaction mixture. For a determination of true basal levels, the PPL method will have to be modified, including the removal of dGp prior to the phosphorylation reaction.  相似文献

Scattering-model-based speckle filtering of polarimetric SAR data   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
A new concept in polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (POLSAR) speckle filtering that preserves the dominant scattering mechanism of each pixel is proposed in this paper. The basic principle is to select pixels of the same scattering characteristics to be included in the filtering process. To achieve this, the algorithm first applies the Freeman and Durden decomposition to separate pixels into three dominant scattering categories: surface, double bounce, and volume, and then unsupervised classification is applied. Speckle filtering is performed using the classification map as a mask. A single-look or multilook pixel centered in a 9 /spl times/ 9 window is filtered by including only pixels in the same and two neighboring classes from the same scattering category. This filter is effective in speckle reduction, while perfectly preserving strong point target signatures, and retains edges, linear, and curved features in the POLSAR data. The effect of speckle filtering on scattering characteristics, such as entropy, anisotropy, and alpha angle, will be discussed.  相似文献

Formulation effects on the distribution of pigment particles in paints   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Modern water-borne paints are widely used in different areas of applications ranging from high-gloss lacquers to flat, scrub-resistant interior paints. From this point of view, the pigment volume concentration (PVC) is one key-parameter adjusting the desired application properties. In high-gloss paints, for example, a low PVC is required to accommodate the proper surface roughness to achieve a high gloss. Consequently, a high concentration of TiO2 is needed to obtain a good hiding power at the same time. Flat paints nonetheless are highly filled due to cost reasons preferentially by CaCO3 and the pigment binding capacity of the binder is crucial. In this work, paint formulations differing in PVC, and the type of binder or dispersing agent were investigated by various techniques concerning the distribution and aggregation of pigment particles, e.g. TiO2. To get a detailed insight into the structure of the liquid paints and the corresponding dried paint films, suitable analytical tools were applied for characterization. The structure of the liquid paints was analyzed by remission light spectroscopy (RLS), disc centrifugation, cryogenic-replication transmission electron microscopy (Cryo-replica TEM) and cryogenic-scanning electron microscopy (Cryo-SEM). The pigment distribution in the corresponding dried paint films was examined by means of atomic force microscopy (AFM), TEM and RLS. The tendency of the TiO2-pigments to form aggregates was found to depend on both: first on the type of binder used in the formulation and second on the employed dispersing agent. It is shown that only by adjusting the properties of the binder in combination with common dispersants, it is possible to get well-distributed TiO2 particles within the paint. Correlation of application properties, e.g. gloss and blocking to the microscopic structure is presented.  相似文献

The impact of thiophene in the fuel gas of a commercial solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) system is investigated for concentrations up to 400 ppmV. Based on the measured voltage–current curves, an empiric correlation for the estimation of the expectable power output of the investigated SOFC system when operated with sulfur containing fuel gases is derived. An interrelation between the open circuit voltage (OCV) and the sulfur concentration of the investigated hydrocarboneous fuel gas is presented and discussed based on corresponding model simulations. The reduction of the steam reforming (STR) activity of the anode cermet material and of the catalytic partial oxidation catalyst used for the fuel gas processing in the investigated SOFC system are found important factors regarding the power output reduction induced by sulfur traces in the fuel gas of SOFCs.  相似文献

This study prospectively compared immobilization time followed by use of a vascular hemostasis device (VasoSeal) versus manual compression to achieve hemostasis at the arterial puncture after angiography and percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA). The trial shows that use of a vascular hemostasis device results in earlier mobilization, even in highly anticoagulated PTCA patients compared with manual compression, with no statistically significant complications.  相似文献

The volt-ampere characteristics for a thin film transistor fabricated with vacuum deposited amorphous silicon as the semiconductor is presented. The substrate is single crystalline silicon with a 3000 Å layer of thermally grown silicon dioxide as the insulator. The gate is a buried N+ phosphorus diffused region while the source and drain contacts are interdigited fingers of aluminum. By using the Cohen-Fritzsche-Ovshinsky model for the density of localized states in the mobility gap, the VG vs ID characteristic at small values of VD is predicted and experimentally verified. This characteristic is used to theoretically predict the family of ID curves for the TFT over a range of VG and VD. The theory and experiment agree exceptionally well below the gate-drain pinch-off, thereby verifying the theory of a TFT with a uniform distribution of traps in the band-gap.  相似文献
