A hybrid MMSE‐based precoder and combiner design with low complexity is studied in this paper for both the downlink and uplink multiuser millimeter wave MIMO systems. At first, according to the underlying channel knowledge, the phases of the RF precoder and combiner are manipulated by using the MMSE criterion. On the basis of the MMSE‐based analog precoder design, the MMSE‐based digital baseband precoder can be readily derived. Thus, this method combines the advantage of using the MMSE precoding and phase extraction technique to obtain a reasonable solution. The proposed hybrid precoding design will be examined in both the uplink and downlink multiuser MIMO systems. Numerical results are presented to show that the proposed MMSE‐based hybrid precoding design is capable of attaining superior performance in terms of both the spectral efficiency and energy efficiency over the existing designs. Moreover, we will show that the MMSE‐based design can be readily extended to the multiuser millimeter wave MISO systems when only statistical channel state information is available. 相似文献

This paper presents a simplified mathematical approach to evaluate the performance of any given circular constellation of 16‐level quadrature amplitude modulation (16‐QAM) in terms of symbol error rate (SER). Following this approach, with the aim to work with memoryless nonlinear satellite channels, a model is derived as a generalized form for both linear and nonlinear channels in the presence of down link additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). The analysis provides means to calculate the optimal ring ratio (RR) and phase difference (PD) for several possible candidates of 16‐QAM circular constellations. The effects of RR and PD on the SER performance are investigated in the analysis. To overcome the nonlinear distortion, data pre‐distortion is taken into account in the study. The paper gives a general procedure for data pre‐distortion implementation for all circular 16‐QAM constellations. The analytical formulation has been extended for total degradation (TD) performance measure as a function of input back‐off (IBO) of the nonlinear amplifier. A SER performance‐comparison between different constellations for 16‐QAM systems has also been presented in this paper. The analytical results are validated by simulation. One of the most common complications during pregnancy is gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), hyperglycemia that occurs for the first time during pregnancy. The condition is multifactorial, caused by an interaction between genetic, epigenetic, and environmental factors. However, the underlying mechanisms responsible for its pathogenesis remain elusive. Moreover, in contrast to several common metabolic disorders, molecular research in GDM is lagging. It is important to recognize that GDM is still commonly diagnosed during the second trimester of pregnancy using the oral glucose tolerance test (OGGT), at a time when both a fetal and maternal pathophysiology is already present, demonstrating the increased blood glucose levels associated with exacerbated insulin resistance. Therefore, early detection of metabolic changes and associated epigenetic and genetic factors that can lead to an improved prediction of adverse pregnancy outcomes and future cardio-metabolic pathologies in GDM women and their children is imperative. Several genomic and epigenetic approaches have been used to identify the genes, genetic variants, metabolic pathways, and epigenetic modifications involved in GDM to determine its etiology. In this article, we explore these factors as well as how their functional effects may contribute to immediate and future pathologies in women with GDM and their offspring from birth to adulthood. We also discuss how these approaches contribute to the changes in different molecular pathways that contribute to the GDM pathogenesis, with a special focus on the development of insulin resistance. 相似文献

ABSTRACT A multistage system comprising an upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) followed by anoxic unit and then oxic activated sludge (AS) with biofilm is studied in El-Berka WWTP, Egypt. Different organic loading wastewaters of chemical oxygen demand (COD) less than 500 mg/L till 3000 mg/L are tested during the study. The hydraulic retention time (HRT) varies for each loading from 7.5 to 10 to 15 h. The UASB reactor accomplishes the removal efficiency of 50%–70% of influent COD. The overall system performs the removal efficiency of 95% of influent COD and NH4-N. Also, the results are verified by a modified mathematical model. 相似文献

Kaolinite was intercalated with N-methylformamide (NMF) and dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO), separately. The intercalation of these species expanded the basal space of kaolinite from 0.72 to 1.08 and 1.13 nm, respectively as shown by the X-ray diffraction (XRD). Emulsion polymerization of vinylacetate (VAc) was carried out at different temperatures (60–80°C) using acetone sodium bisulfite as initiator in the absence and presence of untreated as well as the modified forrms of kaolinite (K-NMF, K-DMSO). The results revealed that the presence of kaolinite decreased the rate of polymerization (Rp) by factor of 4 at 60 and 70°C and 7 at 80°C and also the activation energy of polymerization (E a ) was decreased from 43.35 × 104 to 10.32 × 104 J mole?1 if compared with the polymerization of VAc in absence of kaolinite. Using the modified forms of kaolinite (K-NMF, K-DMSO) enhanced the Rp and reduced effectively the E a to ? 27.92 and ? 55.78, respectively. Conversely to untreated kaolinite, the Rp was declining with increasing the temperature in these cases. In all cases, Rp was the highest in the absence of any kaolinite form but in the same time the E a was also the highest. These results were discussed and explained on the basis of the catalytic activity of the different forms, radical scavenging nature of the kaolinite, and chain transfer. 相似文献

Styrene as a monomer was emulsified in water using several magnetite nanoparticles concentration and pH values. Emulsified styrene drops were used as templates for polymerization, in presence of water soluble free radical initiator, and formation of composite particles. Styrene template drops stabilization was verified by light as well as scanning electron microscopy imaging, which ensured the participation of the particles in building up a mechanical barrier to stop oil drops coalescence. Furthermore, the produced polystyrene composites were strongly attracted to an external magnet. The difference in particles size as a function of pH was elucidated using zeta potential measurements, which indicated dominance of pH on the hydrophilicity of the particles and consequently the extent of emulsification, which in turn affected the size of the obtained microspheres. Under some circumstances, capsules were formed instead of particles. Thereby, it can be concluded that the magnetic microspheres are optimally formed at pH 2.3 independently of the magnetite content used. 相似文献
