Power system control equipment needs higher sensitivity and operational reliability. Advanced voltage control equipment is needed for reducing the frequency of tap changes and improving the characteristics (the relationship between the actual voltage and reference voltage) of the voltage to meet today's power system requirements. However, these objectives are in a trade-off relationship. Studies of voltage control derived from a knowledge base suitable for electric power systems can satisfy these objectives using fuzzy inference. Compared with corresponding conventional equipment, the new equipment improved the deviation of 30 min average voltage of 30 percent. This paper describes the design concept of new voltage control equipment using fuzzy inference. In addition, field test results are described along with rules of fuzzy inference, membership functions, and the deviation of 30 min average voltage through detailed simulation. 相似文献

The laryngeal chemoreflex (LCR) is a potentially life-threatening reflex that is elicited in immature animals by the topical application of water to the laryngeal mucosa. The reflex response is characterized by immediate apnea and laryngeal adduction and delayed cardiovascular instability. The cardiorespiratory changes of the LCR may be life-threatening, particularly in very immature animals such as piglets under 2 weeks of age. The afferent and efferent limbs of the LCR are mediated through the vagus nerve, but the neuromediators responsible for the reflex changes have not yet been clearly elucidated. Previous agonist and antagonist studies in immature dogs demonstrated that substance P, a sensory tachykinin, mediates the life-threatening esophagolaryngeal adductor reflex elicited by distal esophageal sensory nerve stimulation. This study was conducted to determine if substance P also plays a role in mediating the LCR. The LCR response was compared before and after treatment with intravenous substance P antagonist (Pfizer CP-96,345-1) in eight piglets (mean 27.7 days of age). The laryngeal and cardiovascular responses of the animals following intravenous administration of the tachykinins substance P, neurokinin A, and neurokinin B were also assessed. Pretreatment with substance P antagonist did not alter the LCR's duration of apnea (p > .10), laryngeal adductor response, or early change in mean arterial pressure (p > .10), although the early maximal heart rate response was significantly altered (p < .01). Intravenous substance P, neurokinin A, and neurokinin B did not reproduce the laryngeal respiratory response of the LCR. In this paper, we propose a face identification system based on the Mahalanobis–Taguchi System (MTS). The MTS is one of the pattern recognition methods frequently used in quality engineering, and can perform robust pattern recognition by using training data, including noise. It is likely that this advantage will allow the effective implementation of a robust face identification system against lighting and face position fluctuations. Moreover, the MTS can optimize the number of attributes required for identification by using the orthogonal array and the signal/noise (SN) ratio. The face identification system has to deal with many users and the amount of data in a facial image is large. Therefore, the time required for identification can be decreased and the amount of data in the facial image database can be reduced by performing the optimization. We confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed system through practical experiments. The experimental results revealed that the MTS was an effective method for robust face identification, and could effectively reduce the number of attributes required for identification. 相似文献

High-speed 1.55 /spl mu/m laser diodes with a 3-dB modulation bandwidths of 30 GHz were fabricated by using short-cavity mushroom structures with undoped, strain-compensated InGaAlAs-InGaAsP twenty-quantum-well active regions. The bandwidths were achieved at low bias current of 100 mA. The laser exhibited a high differential gain of 1.54/spl times/10/sup -15/ cm/sup 2/ and a small K factor of 0.135 ns. These results were achieved by using an In/sub 0.386/Ga/sub 0.465/AlAs barrier with 0.83% tensile strain to reduce the thermal emission time of holes from wells and hence the hole transport time. 相似文献

We present a theoretical analysis exploring the optimum design of high-speed multiple-quantum-well (MQW) lasers for 1.55-μm operation. Various combinations of well and barrier materials are examined for lattice-matched, strained-layered (SL), and strain-compensated (SC) MQW lasers with InGaAsP and InGaAlAs barriers. The gain characteristics are investigated for these MQW lasers with various barrier bandgap wavelengths and are used to evaluate the modulation characteristics based on the carrier dynamics model which includes a set of Poisson, continuity, and rate equations. The importance of band engineering aimed at simultaneously reducing the carrier transport effect and enhancing the differential gain is described. It is shown that SC-MQW lasers with InGaAlAs barriers have an advantage in reducing the density of states in the valence band by reducing the overlap integral between the heavy- and light-hole wave functions, which effect has previously been discarded as a minor correction in designing conventional InGaAsP-based MQW lasers. Furthermore, the hole transport rate across the barriers can be drastically reduced in SC-MQW lasers due to the reduced effective barrier height for the holes. Based on this novel design scheme, a 3-dB bandwidth approaching 70 GHz is expected for 20-well SC-MQW lasers with InGaAlAs barriers as a result of both the large differential gain and reduced transport effect 相似文献

Novel conjugated organic dyes that have N,N‐dimethylaniline (DMA) moieties as the electron donor and a cyanoacetic acid (CAA) moiety as the electron acceptor were developed for use in dye‐sensitized nanocrystalline‐TiO2 solar cells (DSSCs). We attained a maximum solar‐energy‐to‐electricity conversion efficiency (η) of 6.8 % under AM 1.5 irradiation (100 mW cm–2) with a DSSC based on 2‐cyano‐7,7‐bis(4‐dimethylamino‐phenyl)hepta‐2,4,6‐trienoic acid (NKX‐2569): short‐circuit photocurrent density (Jsc) = 12.9 mA cm–2, open‐circuit voltage (Voc) = 0.71 V, and fill factor (ff) = 0.74. The high performance of the solar cells indicated that highly efficient electron injection from the excited dyes to the conduction band of TiO2 occurred. The experimental and calculated Fourier‐transform infrared (FT‐IR) absorption spectra clearly showed that these dyes were adsorbed on the TiO2 surface with the carboxylate coordination form. A molecular‐orbital calculation indicated that the electron distribution moved from the DMA moiety to the CAA moiety by photoexcitation of the dye. 相似文献
