Lobster krill (Munida genus) represents an under‐valued crustacean frequently caught on European fishing banks. In this work, its sensory, microbiological and biochemical qualities were evaluated during chilled storage. Additionally, the effects of a prestorage antimelanosic treatment consisting of soaking in sodium metabisulphite (SMB) solutions at two different concentrations (0.25% and 0.75%) were also studied. SMB prestorage treatment provided lobster specimens that still exhibited acceptable sensory quality after 10 days of storage, while control specimens were unacceptable at that time. SMB treatment also resulted in a significant (P < 0.05) inhibition of microbial growth, mainly of Enterobacteriaceae, psychrotrophes and proteolytic bacteria. Low lipid oxidation levels were observed for all batches; however, a significantly higher (P < 0.05) retention of polyunsaturated fatty acids was found in SMB‐treated lobster, especially in the 0.75% SMB batch. The results presented here open the way to the potential commercialisation of currently under‐utilised lobster krill as a chilled product. 相似文献

Several forms of cell perturbation have been associated with ethanol ingestion. Fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS) as well as diminished maxillofacial development and inhibition of cell regeneration in vitro and in vivo have been described. Epidermal growth factor (EGF) stimulates maxillofacial growth, DNA synthesis, and it is a potent mitogen for a number of various cell types. EGF exerts its effects on cells through binding to a specific cell surface receptor which leads to activation of a thyrosine kinase in the intracellular part of the receptor. The inhibitory effect of alcohol on EGF in the mouse dental follicle was studied in the offspring of alcoholic mothers using immunocytochemistry. Adult female mice were given 22% alcohol in their drinking water and fed a pelleted diet before and during pregnancy. Maternal blood alcohol levels were 262 +/- 1.3 mg/100 ml on gestation day 12.5. The offspring of the alcoholic and control mice were sacrificed on postnatal day 1.5, their mandibles were dissected, weighed and processed by routine immunocytochemistry with the following results. 1) Significant differences were found in mandible weight p < 0.01 after parturition. 2) The tooth germs in the offspring of ethanol treated mice were morphometrically smaller than those of control littermates. 3) Immunoexpression of EGF in the mandibular first molar of the control group was strong and homogeneous while in the experimental group the expression was light and heterogeneous. 1. The present paper reports the effects of liposome-entrapped tyrosinase (EC 1.14.18.1. L-Tyrosine, L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine: oxygen oxidoreductase) infusion on the catecholamine contents of rat plasma. The actions of liposomes and free tyrosinase have also been investigated. 2. From the experiments, evidence has been obtained that liposome-entrapped tyrosinase is able to affect specifically L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (L-DOPA) levels which increase dramatically. 3. The possible use of liposome-entrapped tyrosinase to raise L-DOPA levels in catecholamine related disorders is discussed. 4. Liposomes without tyrosinase provoke no significant changes of catecholamine or L-DOPA levels while free tyrosinase does induce a change but in a less constant fashion than the liposome-entrapped enzyme. 相似文献

The shumbler (shuffler/scrambler) is a circuit designed and fabricated to form part of a broadband customer premises network. The circuit is implemented in 1.2-μm BiCMOS double-metal technology. The circuit is bidirectional, and can perform the functions of scrambling and shuffling or descrambling and unshuffling by means of control signals to three integrated multiplexers. The shumbler also includes a programmable multiplexer that allows the selection of one out of the 16 output channels of the shuffler through a serial output for local system test purposes. Time-scaling properties of the isothermal transformation kinetics have been tested for three Fe-B-based metallic glasses exhibiting two crystallization stages. The time scale was defined as the time at which crystallization has reached half completion and is derived from calorimetric (DSC) data.
