A smooth object depicted in a monochrome image will often exhibit brightness variation, or shading. A problem much studied in computer vision has been that of how object shape may be recovered from image shading. When the imaging conditions are such that an overhead point-source illuminates a smooth Lambertian surface, the problem may be formulated as that of finding a solution to an eikonal equation. This article will focus on the existence and uniqueness of such solutions, reporting recent results obtained. With regard to existence, shading patterns are exhibited for which there is no corresponding object shape. Specifically, a necessary and sufficient condition is presented for a circularly symmetric eikonal equation to admit exclusively unbounded solutions; additionally, a sufficient condition is given for an eikonal equation to have no solution whatsoever. In connection with uniqueness, we consider eikonal equations, defined over a disc, such that the Euclidean norm of the gradient of any solution is circularly symmetric, vanishes exactly at the disc center, and diverges to infinity as the circumference of the disc is approached. Contrary to earlier influential work, a class of such eikonal equations is shown to possess simultaneously circularly symmetric and noncircularly symmetric bounded smooth solutions. 相似文献

Polyurethane coatings are highly flammable, and because of their widespread applications on different substrates (wood, steel, and building materials), there is a need to increase their fire‐safety properties. Intumescent additives sharply suppress the flammability properties of polyurethane coatings. Two problems accompany intumescent additives: their high loading percentage and incompatibility with polyurethane coatings. In this research, we succeeded in increasing the compatibility by mixing intumescent additives with a butyl acrylate polymer and in lowering the flame‐retardant additive loading (up to 20%) by incorporating newly modified montmorillonite. The aim of this paper is the path loss modelling for the radiolocation services in radio communication networks, particularly in cellular networks. The main results of the measurements obtained in the physical layer of the UMTS are introduced. A new method for the utilization of the multipath propagation phenomenon to improve the estimation of the distance between the MS (mobile station) and the BS (base station) is outlined. The paper deals with the structure of the adaptive control electro‐hydraulic servo‐system (EHSS) with external load disturbances, practical verification of the identification, and control algorithms. The electro‐hydraulic servo system composed of a servo‐cylinder controlled with a servo‐valve is discussed. It is a strongly nonlinear object with parameters changing over time. Adaptive adjuster parameters were determined by means of current identification resulting in the parametric model. Identification was conducted on the basis of measurement of the controlling size and regulated size objects. The identified model of the object was applied to carry out the on‐line synthesis of the proportional–integral–derivative (PID) controller. The selected problems connected with obtaining the algorithm of adaptive control are presented. The computer program for implementing the algorithm with numerical simulation and identification of the control physical model object were calculated. The aim of the research was to examine the effectiveness of the adaptive control method in an electro‐hydraulic servo system, both theoretically and experimentally. 相似文献

The paper presents a precision CMOS current conveyor (CCII+), working in class A, suitable for low supply voltages (±3 V). Owing to a new solution of its input stage, a very lowx-input resistance (about 10 ) has been achieved without applying any loop of negative feedback. Since the circuit includes no high-gain feedback loop, there was no need to use a frequency-compensating capacitor (introducing a dominant pole) in order to ensure its stability. As a consequence, the conveyor is characterized by a higher bandwidth, for a given manufacturing process, compared to circuits including such capacitors. To ensure a high performance under the low supply conditions, a special cascode proposed in [1] has been applied which enables to realize precision current mirrors. PSPICE simulation studies based on detailed level-2 transistor-models are given. Carbon nano-onion/surfactant (CNO/surfactant) composites offer the possibility to easily produce the soluble nanostructures. That approach combines the hydrophilicity of surfactants with the robustness of carbon structures to produce composites with superior and unusual physicochemical properties. We used the following surfactants: hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate (SDBS), 4-(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)phenyl-polyethylene glycol (Triton X-100), and polyethylene glycol sorbitan monolaurate (Tween 20) to non-covalently modify CNO surfaces. The existence of stable CNO composites are clearly evidenced by direct transmission electron microscopy observations, which are also supported by thermogravimetric analyses. Dynamic light scattering and zeta potential confirmed their dispersion and stability. Additionally, the biological activity of well-dispersed CNO/surfactant composites against a strain of Escherichia coli was assayed. In vitro antimicrobial assays for the composites revealed that only the CNO/CTAB composite decreased cell viability. This activity could be assigned to the simple composite dissociation in water solutions, however antimicrobial properties of the composite are slightly better when compared with pure CTAB. This indicate some synergic effect with respect to the properties of the pure surfactant. 相似文献

Comtraces (combined traces) are extensions of Mazurkiewicz traces that can model the “not later than” relationship. In this paper, we first introduce the novel notion of generalized comtraces, extensions of comtraces that can additionally model the “non-simultaneously” relationship. Then we study some basic algebraic properties and canonical representations of comtraces and generalized comtraces. Finally we analyze the relationship between generalized comtraces and generalized stratified order structures. The major technical contribution of this paper is a proof showing that generalized comtraces can be represented by generalized stratified order structures. 相似文献
