Various treatments based on drug administration and radiotherapy have been devoted to preventing, palliating, and defeating cancer, showing high efficiency against the progression of this disease. Recently, in this process, malignant cells have been found which are capable of triggering specific molecular mechanisms against current treatments, with negative consequences in the prognosis of the disease. It is therefore fundamental to understand the underlying mechanisms, including the genes—and their signaling pathway regulators—involved in the process, in order to fight tumor cells. Long non-coding RNAs, H19 in particular, have been revealed as powerful protective factors in various types of cancer. However, they have also evidenced their oncogenic role in multiple carcinomas, enhancing tumor cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. In this review, we analyze the role of lncRNA H19 impairing chemo and radiotherapy in tumorigenesis, including breast cancer, lung adenocarcinoma, glioma, and colorectal carcinoma.  相似文献

We investigated the effect of solvents on the morphology, charge transport and device performance of poly[N-9″-hepta-decanyl-2,7-carbazole-alt-5,5-(4′,7′-di-2-thienyl-2′,1′,3′-benzothiadiazole)] (PCDTBT) and [6,6]-phenyl C71-butyric acid methyl ester (PC70BM) based solar cells. To carry out this investigation, chloroform and 1,2-dichlorobenzene were chosen as good solvents of the two compounds. Films prepared with chloroform exhibit larger domains than those prepared with 1,2-dichlorobenzene and their size increases with the amount of PC70BM. Fine tuning of the domain size was realized by using a solvent of mixed chloroform and 1,2-dichlorobenzene. At a mixing ratio of 50%:50%, a power conversion efficiency of 6.1% was achieved on PCDTBT:PC70BM (1:3) devices with an active area of 1 cm2, under air mass 1.5 global (AM 1.5 G) irradiation at 100 mW/cm2.  相似文献

The generation of free radical intermediates as a result of the oxidative degradation of lipid molecules during the heating of grape seed oil has been established by a combination of “spin trapping” and electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy. The effects of temperature on the rates of formation and decomposition of the adduct with the spin trapN-t-butyl-α-phenylnitrone (PBN) have been investigated over the temperature range 105–180°C. The results show that PBN can be used for studies of free radical processes in oils in situ in the spectrometer cavity at temperatures up to 180°C.  相似文献

Docosahexaenoic acid (22∶6n−3) can be synthesized in the liver and/or brain from α-linolenic acid (18∶3n−3) and is required in large amounts in structural membranes of developing brain and retina. The adequacy and efficacy of formulas containing 18∶3n−3 and/or fish oil in providing 22∶6n−3 for deposition was investigated in piglets fed formula from birth to 15 days. The test formulas contained high (HL) or low (LL) 18∶3n−3 (3.9 or 0.7% of the total formula fatty acids, respectively), or low 18∶3n−3 plus fish oil (LL+FO) to provide C20 and C22 n−3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (0.8% of total fatty acids). Fatty acid analyses of synaptic plasma membrane and retina ethanolamine phospholipids (EPL), which are especially enriched in 22∶6n−3, were compared to those of 15-day-old piglets fed sow milk (SM). Feeding LL resulted in lower 22∶6n−3 in synaptic plasma membrane. Fatty acid levels in HL and LL+FO piglets were equivalent to SM, with the exception of lower 22∶5n−3 in the synaptic plasma membrane of LL+FO and in the retina of HL and LL+FO-fed piglets. Levels of 22∶4n−6 were also lower in the retina of the LL+FO group. The results suggest formula 18∶3n−3 is at least 24% as effective as C20 and C22 n−3 fatty acids as a source of membrane 22∶6n−3. This study shows dietary 18∶3n−3, as the only n−3 fatty acid, can support deposition of comparable percentage of 22∶6n−3 to natural milk. Fish oil also supported tissue levels of 22∶6n−3 similar to natural milk; however, lower 22∶4n−6 may indicate possible inhibitory effects on n−6 metabolism. Assuming that human exposure to BSE was through beef mechanically recovered meat (MRM) consumed as burgers and other meat products, we estimated the French consumption of different food items containing beef MRM, and compared these consumptions for French and British populations. To estimate consumption of meat products containing bovine MRM, we used dietary data from national individual and household food surveys conducted between 1980 and 1995. After reconciliation of consumption data between the available surveys and calendar year adjustments, we simulated consumption of one-thousandth of the French population. Consumption was estimated by birth cohort and gender, and for the periods 1980-89 and 1990-95 separately. Data showed that burgers (including manufactured minced meat) represented around 75-80% of the individual consumption of meat products containing MRM, and that consumption of burgers increased by 40% over the 1980-95 period. In all age groups, consumption was higher in males than in females. In both genders, the 1940-69 birth cohort had the highest mean consumption of burgers and other beef products containing MRM. Similar findings have been reported for the UK population. Estimated consumption of bovine MRM per calendar year increased markedly over the study period, concomitantly with an increase of bovine carcasses imported from the UK. Comparison of the 1980-1995 pattern of bovine MRM consumption in the UK and France indicated thatthis consumption peaked later in France than in the UK. This difference might result in different temporal pattern of vCJD incidence.  相似文献

Membrane processing of used frying oils   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Studies were conducted with used frying oils in a flat membrane batch cell using five different types of polymeric membranes to decrease the soluble degradation products. During membrane processing, triglycerides permeated preferentially compared to the majority of the polar compounds including oxidation products, polymers, and color compounds. Two of the composite membranes, NTGS-AX and NTGS-2200, selectively rejected polar compounds and oxidation products to the extent of 25–48% and 24–44% respectively. The reduction in Lovibond color values (5R+Y) was in the range of 83–93%. The viscosity of the used frying oil was reduced to the extent of 22%. The composite membranes were effective in reducing the soluble impurities, as well as insoluble particulates, without causing any undesirable changes to the oil. The membrane process appears to improve the life of used frying oils and does not have the disadvantages associated with the active filtration systems, however, for commercial application the permeate flux needs to be improved considerably.  相似文献
