Amphiphilic magnetic microspheres ranging in diameter from 5 to 100 µm were prepared by dispersion copolymerization of styrene and poly(ethylene oxide) vinylbenzyl (PEO‐VB) macromonomer (MPEO) in the presence of Fe3O4 magnetic fluid. The effects of various polymerization parameters on the average particle size were systematically investigated. The average particle size was found to increase with increasing styrene concentration and initiator concentration. It also increased with decreasing stabilizer concentration and molecular weight of MPEO. The content of the hydroxyl groups localized in the microspheres ranged from 0.01 to 0.2 mmol g?1. © 2003 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

A novel series of temperature‐sensitive poly[(N‐isopropylacrylamide)‐co‐(ethyl methacrylate)] (p(NIPAM‐co‐EMA)) microgels was prepared by the surfactant‐free radical polymerization of N‐isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) with ethyl methacrylate (EMA). The shape, size dispersity and volume‐phase transition behavior of the microgels were investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), ultraviolet–visible (UV–Vis) spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering (DLS) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The transmission electron micrographs and DLS results showed that microgels with narrow distributions were prepared. It was shown from UV–Vis, DLS and DSC measurements that the volume‐phase transition temperature (VPTT) of the p(NIPAM‐co‐EMA) microgels decreased with increasing incorporation of EMA, but the temperature‐sensitivity was impaired when more EMA was incorporated, causing the volume‐phase transition of the microgels to become more continuous. It is noteworthy that incorporation of moderate amounts of EMA could not only lower the VPTT but also enhance the temperature‐sensitivity of the microgels. A novel, heat-resistant and Pronase-sensitive, inhibitor of eukaryotic DNA topoisomerase I has been purified from Xenopus laevis ovaries. Sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) of the most purified fraction revealed three bands with apparent molecular masses of 25, 28.5, and 33.5 kDa. The 25- and 33.5-kDa peptides recovered from an SDS-PAGE gel inhibited X. laevis DNA topoisomerase I. The purified inhibitor was specific to DNA topoisomerase I and did not inhibit other DNA enzymes tested. The inhibitor blocked the catalytic activity of DNA topoisomerase I by interacting with the enzyme, rather than by competing for binding sites on substrate DNA. Binding of DNA topoisomerase I to substrate DNA was blocked by the inhibitor, as was the cleavage reaction catalyzed by DNA topoisomerase I. Inhibition of DNA topoisomerase I was relieved by divalent cations Ca2+, Mg2+, or Mn2+.  相似文献

SrMgxTi1 - xO3 nanocrystals (x = 0.1–0.6) were synthesized by the stearic acid gel method. Powder samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction and X-ray photoelectron (XP) spectroscopy. The results showed that the lattice parameter a and the O 1s XP spectrum changed not only with the Mg content x but also with the grain size d of the samples. The conductivity of a thick film specimen fabricated on an aluminium oxide wafer was investigated in a nitrogen—oxygen atmosphere.  相似文献

A new and simple compensated structure for a vertically installed planar (VIP) 3 dB directional coupler has been studied theoretically as well as experimentally by combining an improved 2-D-general finite difference (2-D-GFD) design procedure with a three-dimensional finite difference time domain (3-D-FDTD) method. The obtained full wave analysis results agree well with the measured ones. The investigations have shown that with this planar compensated structure, a better performance of the VIP coupler in the L-band can be realized by only using the same kind of dielectric substrate for its vertical and horizontal one  相似文献

A 6H-SiC thyristor has been fabricated and characterized. A forward breakover voltage close to 100 V and a pulse switched current density of 5200 A/cm2 have been demonstrated. The thyristor is shown to operate under pulse gate triggering for turn-on and turn-off, with a rise time of 43 ns and a fall time of less than 100 ns. The forward breakover voltage is found to decrease by only 4% when the operating temperature is increased from room temperature to 300°C. It is found that anode ohmic contact resistance dominates the device forward drop at high current densities  相似文献
