Cholesterol‐imprinted polymer receptor prepared by a hybrid imprinting method

A novel cholesterol‐imprinted polymer (CMIP‐H) was prepared by a hybrid method of covalent imprinting and non‐covalent imprinting. This approach involves the copolymerization of a template‐containing monomer, cholesteryl 2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate carbonate, and a cross‐linker, followed by hydrolysis to afford a flexible guest‐binding site accompanied with the easy and efficient removal of a ‘sacrificial spacer’. The effect of solvent on the binding capacity of CMIP‐H towards cholesterol was studied, indicating that a good binding capacity towards cholesterol could be achieved in a less‐polar solvent. The binding experiments of CMIP‐H towards a series of structural analogues of cholesterol, including cholesterol acetate, progesterone and stigmasterol, were carried out in hexane. The results showed that CMIP‐H almost did not bind cholesterol acetate at all because the hydrogen‐bonding site is blocked. Mobility modeling, location tracking, and trajectory prediction inwireless ATM networks

Wireless ATM networks require efficient mobility management to cope with frequent mobile handoff and rerouting of connections. Although much attention has been given in the literature to network architecture design to support wide-area mobility in public ATM networks, little has been done to the important issue of user mobility estimation and prediction to improve the connection reliability and bandwidth efficiency of the underlying system architecture. This paper treats the problem by developing a hierarchical user mobility model that closely represents the movement behavior of a mobile user, and that, when used with appropriate pattern matching and Kalman filtering techniques, yields an accurate location prediction algorithm, HLP, or hierarchical location prediction, which provides necessary information for advance resource reservation and advance optimal route establishment in wireless ATM networks     

电位滴定法研究~(99)Tc-HMDP和~(99)Tc-HEDP中Tc的氧化态

~(99)Tc-HMDP和~(99)Tc-HEDP溶液是在相应的螫合剂存在下,用过量SnCl_2还原~(99)TcO_4-制得。用标准I_2液对SnCl_2进行了剩余量电位滴定,确定了在pH～3的介质中,~(99)Tc-HMDP和~(99)Tc-HE-DP中~(99)Tc的氧化态均为+4。全部实验在N_2气流中进行。~(99)Tc-HMDP和~(99)Tc-HEDP的紫外光谱表明:在用I_2滴定的过程中,~(99)Tc只处于一种氧化态+4;将它们放置在空气中,一小时后仍较稳定。     

Correlation of the reactivity,the active surface area and the total surface area of thin films of pyrolytic carbon

Using thin films of pyrolytic carbon the rate of the reaction with oxygen has been measured over the temperature range 625–740°C and at pressures of oxygen from 6–100 torr. The active surface area (ASA) of the films was measured from the total concentration of strongly-bound complexes with oxygen on the surface and the relative total surface area (TSA) was measured by low-temperature adsorption of nitrogen. A maximum in reactivity and in ASA was observed for films of average thickness of about 20 nm with a TSA of about 30 m² g^?1. At the maximum the ASA and TSA were essentially equal. The results are interpreted in terms of the mechanism of formation of pyrolytic carbon in the initial stages.

Photopolymerization of methyl methacrylate initiated by benzophenone/aromatic tertiary amines

Summary The photopolymerization of methyl methacrylate initiated by benzophenone-tertiary aromatic amines was studied under irradiation at 365 nm. The initiating amino radicals were investigated with combined ESR and spin-trapping method. The rate of polymerization for different amines was found in the sequence of p-hydroxymethyl-N,N-dimethylaniline>N,N-dimmethyltoluidine>N,N-dimethylaniline>p-methyl-N,N-dihydroxyethylaniline. The influence of diphenylmethanol on the polymerization reveals the incapacity of the benzophenone ketyl radical to initiate, while the amino end-group was detected in the polymers. This end-group can interact with benzophenone again, leading to initiate further polymerization to give a copolymer.
