Recent progress in energy harvesting technologies made it possible to build sensor networks with rechargeable nodes which target an indefinitely long operation. In these networks, the goal of energy management is to allocate the available energy such that the important performance metrics, such as the number of detected threats, are maximized. As the harvested energy is not sufficient for continuous operation, the scheduling of the active and inactive time is one of the main components of energy management. The active time scheduling protocols need to maintain the energy equilibrium of the nodes, while considering the uncertainties of the energy income, which is strongly influenced by the weather, and the energy expenditures, which are dependent on the behavior of the targets. In this paper, we describe and experimentally compare three active time scheduling protocols: (a) static active time, (b) dynamic active time based on a multi-parameter heuristic and (c) utility-based uniform sensing. We show that protocols which take into consideration the probabilistic models of the energy income and expenditure and can dynamically adapt to changes in the environment, can provide a significant performance advantage. 相似文献

A number of studies have demonstrated that MWCNTs induce granuloma formation and fibrotic responses in vivo, and it has been recently reported that MWCNT‐induced macrophage activation and subsequent TGF‐β secretion contribute to pulmonary fibrotic responses. However, their direct effects against alveolar type‐II epithelial cells and fibroblasts and the corresponding underlying mechanisms remain largely unaddressed. Here, MWCNTs are reported to be able to directly promote fibroblast‐to‐myofibroblast conversion and the epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) through the activation of the TGF‐β/Smad signaling pathway. Both of the cell transitions may play important roles in MWCNT‐induced pulmonary fibrosis. Firstly, in‐vivo and in‐vitro data show that long MWCNTs can directly interact with fibroblasts and epithelial cells, and some of them may be uptaken into fibroblasts and epithelial cells by endocytosis. Secondly, long MWCNTs can directly activate fibroblasts and increase both the basal and TGF‐β1‐induced expression of the fibroblast‐specific protein‐1, α‐smooth muscle actin, and collagen III. Finally, MWCNTs can induce the EMT through the activation of TGF‐β/Smad2 signaling in alveolar type‐II epithelial cells, from which some fibroblasts involved in pulmonary fibrosis are thought to originate. These observations suggest that the activation of the TGF‐β/Smad2 signaling plays a critical role in the process of the fibroblast‐to‐myofibroblast transition and the EMT induced by MWCNTs. 相似文献

The paper presents numerical simulations of the discharge and the near-outlet regions of the hybrid-stabilized argon–water electric arc. Two different numerical methods for solving the set of conservative equations for the continuity, momentum and energy have been applied. The major difference between the results using the two methods occurs in the temperature distribution in arc fringes within the discharge chamber. This fact influences the potential drop, overpressure, reabsorption of radiation and arc efficiency. It is shown that the radial profiles of temperature at the exit nozzle are less influenced by different temperature distribution within the discharge chamber. Comparison with chosen experimental temperature profiles shows very good agreement. 相似文献

Mitragynine (MTR), the main indole alkaloid of the well-known plant kratom (Mitragyna speciosa), is one of the most studied natural products nowadays, due to its remarkable biological effects. It is a partial agonist on the opioid receptors, and as such relieves pain without the well-known side-effects of the opioids applied in the clinical practice. MTR and its derivatives therefore became novel candidates for drug development. The poor aqueous solubility and low bioavailability of drugs are often improved by cyclodextrins (CyDs) as excipients through host-guest type complex formation. Among the wide variety of CyDs, sulfobutylether-beta-cyclodextrin (SBEβCyD) is frequently used and official in the European and U.S. Pharmacopoeia. Herein, the host-guest complexation of MTR with βCyD and SBEβCyD was studied using chiroptical and NMR spectroscopy. It was found by NMR measurements that MTR forms a rather weak (logβ11 = 0.8) 1:1 host-guest complex with βCyD, while the co-existence of the 2MTR∙SBEβCyD and MTR∙SBEβCyD species was deducted from 1H NMR titrations in the millimolar MTR concentration range. Sulfobutylation of βCyD significantly enhanced the affinity towards MTR. The structure of the formed inclusion complex was extensively studied by circular dichroism spectroscopy and 2D ROESY NMR. The paper discusses the synthesis of the N,N,′-azobis(formamidopropionic) acid (AFP), along with some characteristics determined from NMR spectrum, differential thermal analysis, and DSC. The behavior of AFP acid—as well as of its analogue, N,N′-azobis(formamidoacetic) acid (AFA)—has been studied in the reaction with aromatic diamine and with bis(glycol)terephthalate, leading to azopolymers of the azopolyamide, or azopolyester, type. On employing N,N′-bis(β-hydroxyethyl) azobis-formamide (HEAF) as the azo bifunctional compound in the reaction with diphenylmethane diisocyanate, a polyurethane possessing azo groups was obtained. A numerical procedure was employed to evaluate hydrated water attached to the extractable nitric acid/iso-butanol complex. The hydratation number was found to be 11, a value favourable in comparison to the hydratation numbers published for straight chain alcohols extractants. Of several tested approaches, the fourth order interaction Scatchard equation offers water activity coefficients in the alcohol phase which are in close agreement with the measured ones. 相似文献
